21.01.2022 Eastern Pygmy Possums in Ku-ring-gai Chase NP Gibberagong EEC recently coordinated a student-led project with our local schools on the Eastern Pygmy Possum. We worked closely with the National Parks and Wildlife Service to teach students about this beautiful animal. Wildlife cameras were installed to monitor activity. We are so excited to share our latest footage with you of the Eastern Pygmy Possum. 10.01.2022 Have you ever seen the inside of a native bee hive? Yesterday the staff at Gibberagong were lucky enough to watch James split our hive of stingless Tetragonula carbonaria bees. The structures they create are beautiful and the honey can only make you smile. Native bees are critical pollinators for our plant species. They play a vital role maintaining healthy ecosystems. They are also a fabulous teaching resource. Have you considered welcoming native bees to your school or home?

This will book out quickly. Phase one will be at Thornleigh West PS on Friday 5th June 2020. Outdoor Learning (OL) is a pedagogy that involves utilising the natural resources within the environment, both within and outside the school grounds, to deliver curriculum content. The interest in OL has grown a...s a reaction to the concerning decline in time spent in nature by todays youth. The purpose of the Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning program is to enable teachers to enhance their skills and confidence to take the curriculum outside and embed outdoor learning across all KLAs.
