24.01.2022 Dear Valued Customers, As you would all be aware we are currently facing some unprecedented challenges with the COVID-19 virus. At Gibsons Groundspread we are committed to continuing our services and want to reassure you that we have taken steps to secure our fertiliser requirements and have built our stock levels to ensure that at this time our services continue. ... It is coming into the busy Autumn period and given the circumstances we recommend you consider putting your fertiliser plans in place sooner rather than later. The health of our employees and customers is critical, so as a company we are putting in place measures that aim to minimise the spread of the virus; these measures focus on personal hygiene and social distancing. This will impact the level of face to face contact we have with our customers. For now, Gibsons staff will not be available for on farm meetings and we ask that all communications are undertaken by telephone. You will not be able to enter a Gibsons Groundspread truck to provide instructions. Please ensure you provide accurate directions and farm maps in advance and limit interaction with drivers. If you need to visit our depots to pick up product, we ask that you call in advance and limit your time at the depot and interactions with staff. It is a challenging time but we are confident that we will get through this and look forward to continuing to work with you into the future.

02.01.2022 FURTHER UPDATE; Agriculture Minister David Littleproud says Australias food production and supply chain will not be affected by coronavirus shutdowns. The Commonwealth is guaranteeing food production and supply as we deal with the viruss spread, Minister Littleproud said.... I am in constant dialogue with farming groups, the States, supermarkets and my department to make sure theres food on the table for all Australians. As far as the Commonwealth is concerned, food production and supply is an essential service. Feeding our nation is an essential service. That means State-imposed border shutdowns will not affect agricultural supply chains. The trucks carrying food and produce will get through to the shops. Feed, hay, fertiliser and other agriculture products will continue being delivered to farms. Weve got plenty of supply and the freight lanes across the country are being kept clear. Australians can be assured that their farmers will be able to keep producing the great food theyre renowned for the world over. This food will arrive fresh and on time at their local supermarket the same as its always done but they dont need added pressure of senseless hoarding. Australians should stay calm and know Australian agriculture will be there for them. Maintaining food production, access to workers, agricultural supply lines, transportation and logistics is absolutely critical and will not be affected by any of the measures aimed at curbing the viruss spread.

01.01.2022 A little piece of history uncovered by our Area Manager Steve Dunn during a recent farm visit... Might need a bit of work before we can get it back in good working order...!!
