18.01.2022 The Courtyard through QPRC has called for expressions of interest of an art commission to paint two water tanks, like Silo Art. The art can be graffiti style, tradional or mixed media. The Courtyard, at 10 Gibraltar St Bungendore, is a boutique space that encourages the community to engage, enjoy and reflect. The Courtyard's focus is the display of metal art in a garden setting. The Courtyard recently installed two corrugated water tanks: one on a traditional Australian ta...nk stand and the other on a one-off design incorporating heritage timbers and a metal carriage rim. The Courtyard is now seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from local artists to create art on each tank. The creation of art will add an additional visual and possibly textural element for the community to enjoy. Hopefully, the completed works can form part of a Spring event at The Courtyard. The EOI should include information about the artist, their works, connection to the Bungendore region and a design concept. A commission of $600 per tank, including material costs is offered. The successful applicant's art will be attributed to the artists by signing their work. The art itself will become the property of The Courtyard. Artists are encouraged to contact Sherridan Marsh on 0421 217838 to arrange a visit to The Courtyard. The Courtyard would especially encourage local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to apply. The EOI closes 14 May 2021 and should be sent to [email protected]. See more
