21.01.2022 I NEED A COUPLE OF HOURS OF YOUR HELP FOR OUR NEXT RESCUE! Hi everyone. I hope you're all well. As some as you may know, I've had to close the school because o...f my stupid health but I have figured out a way for the rescuing to continue. We are ready for our next rescue but we really need help ridding the paddock of 2 weeds that cause stomach ulcers. We are having a working bee this Sunday from 11am to 3pm with a sausage sizzle thrown in. PLEASE HELP! It would be awesome if some of you could drop in & help out, even if it's for an hour. Feel free to bring your friends & please post it in your Facebook , Twitter etc and spread the word. Thanks very much everyone and God Bless See more

20.01.2022 Hi everyone, Thank you all for your support. We managed to get a load of hay, thank goodness, and the forecast for the coming hay season is great. We've managed to get some mulch on the riding areas & have found someone who is willing to give us a lot more once the ground is dry enough for the truck to get in. The rain we've had recently has been significant, so the hard ground issue is temporarily resolved. Spring seems to be coming early, the horses are dropping their winte...r coats and the mares are coming into season & the grass is finally starting to grow! We still need an aerator before the ground gets hard again. We're looking at about $800 by the time we pay freight. The difference in the horses movement is astounding now that the ground has softened. They are so much happier. Their general condition has improved & they spend time playing now, not just eating & resting. They're bright & happy & playful. It's wonderful to see but it really highlights how much the hard ground was impacting them, even those not in work, so we really need that aerator. Thanks again for everyone's support. See more
19.01.2022 Fairlight Acres Leroy (14037) 10.2hh 12yo Black Shetland Gelding http://67.199.42.15/sams/animaldetails.cfm?aid=81242 FOR SALE $2000 Roy has been with me 8 ye...ars. He came to me unstarted as a 4yo & in great condition. He played mascot for my training centre here in Sunbury, VIC when I was first starting my "riding school" which was all about Natural Horsemanship, rescuing & rehabilitating & teaching people the whole picture of the needs of a horse. There was never any monotonous nose-to-tail, riding by rote. Roy walked the main streets & car parks of Sunbury & Watergardens (even entering a few shops!), whilst we spoke to parents & handed out brochures & the kids fussed over him, patting him in all sorts of places that most horses wouldn't tolerate, especially in such a highly active environment. Roy has taught many, many kids how to ride. The complete beginners must be on a lead, but it can be a 12' line just as back up whilst the kids do the work. He's very good on the circle teaching them how to trot or canter. He's had 2 yo's on him, disabled riders, nervous riders, kids that have screamed & yelled & grabbed his ears & dug their heels in his sides & he just takes it all in his stride. He's reliable with them on the ground around him, brushing & fussing & doing his feet. All this being said, there is always a savvy person around to keep things going smoothly. He'd be quite happy for a little one to go out into the paddock to give him hugs and cuddles. When Roy is off the lead it can be a different story, of he's only being ridden by novices. If he has an experienced rider to work him regularly he's great. He carries up to 60kg OK. If there isn't an experienced rider involved he needs someone determined, not skilled, just determined who knows how to do a hindquarter yield, on or off the ground, to prove to him who's in charge. It only takes 5 - 10 minutes of their first ride to establish hierarchy and then he is the most responsive, awesome, fun ride. I'm going to post pics but check out the website giddyupggs.com to see whats been going on over the last 8 years. I just want to note that he was started in a halter & has never been mouthed- we just didn't need to so it just never got done. If someone commits to the sale, I will mouth him if they want it done The reason for sale is ill health is forcing me to close this business as I physically cannot look after the horses anymore, despite the help of some amazing volunteers. I will continue teaching people with their own horses & start travelling to clients again. Roy's in fabulous condition, hooves done every 6 weeks by Farriers Down Under, wormed regularly, teeth done annually. Great to do all the usual stuff with & a massive favorite here. We've actually had to ban him from the fancy dress in our Christmas Gymkhana because he wins every year, he's just that damn cute! Roy is registered at 9.2hh but was properly measured a few weeks ago at 10.2hh. The first photos are as recent as the 11th of Dec this year going all the way back 8 years. You can see his development through the years. You can call or text me on 0409 947 748 or please PM me. We live near Sunbury, VIC

15.01.2022 Hi Everyone, As many of you know, I've been battling with my health for a long time now & I am physically unable to step in when one of my many wonderful volunteers can't make it to look after the horses during the week. As you all know, the horses welfare is paramount & I have had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome the few school horses I have left. I have been slowly cutting back more & more in an attempt to make things more manageable but it hasn't been enough. ...I am so very grateful that students have bought the horses so far & some truly beautiful relationships have resulted from that. The horses I have left to sell/rehome are Roy, Lullaby (conditions apply specifically with her), Pockets & Trooper. These last 2 are not school horses as I haven't been able to put the work into them. I'm hoping with less work & stress on my plate I may be able to start spending time with them, however, if the right home was to appear now I would let them go. Of course I am keeping Bella & Minx. I am also keeping Spirit so I will still have one horse to teach on, so I'll probably give 1 or 2 lessons Mon - Sat after work or school & the good news is for a lot of people is that I can start travelling to those of you who have your own horses. If any of you are interested, you know the drill. TEXT ME! LOL! Also, don't forget , there are heaps of photos on the website giddyupggs.com If you have any photos to share, please do. It's very hard to be saying goodbye to a 10 year chapter of my life. I have met such amazing people and seen so many young girls grow into lovely young women. I feel very blessed to have spent time with each & every one of you. xxx See more

15.01.2022 Talija has big news everyone! I'll let her share it with you. Due to the hay & feed shortage, my health & family issues, Zeke, Tin Tin & Roy are for sale. Roy really should be in the show ring. He is a very well bred, registered Shetland & is really put together well. I've got $2500 on each of them.

02.01.2022 BE A PART OF RESCUING A HORSE **$20.00/wk! WORKING BEE JULY 2. HELP NEEDED! Sunbury, VIC Be hands on & involved to save a rescue horse.... Can you manage $20 - $30 per week? Can you commit an hour or more any evening during the week? That's all we need from a few people to save the life of a horse that is destined for an unfair, grisley & normally horrific ending. You don't need experience- I'll teach you what you need to know. I am a professional horse educator ( whisperer) & I have been rescuing for 35 years. **** STATUS UPDATE**** We now have enough people on board to get the next rescue but we still need to clear the paddocks of the weeds. We can spray the serrated tussock, there's not much of that but the blanket/carpet weed (galenia) needs to be pulled out by hand or regularly sprayed with a spray that requires protective gear. None of us are keen on that option & by hand is actually fairly easy. So we're asking anybody who would like to help out with the rescue program to come on Sunday July 2nd. We could it cleared in a day if we had a some extra helpers! ************************************ For more information pl go to the link below *********************************** If you would like to volunteer some time but can't commit, that's fine. We're grateful for any help! There is work to be done now to prepare the 2 paddocks I have put aside for the rescues until they're well & strong enough to join the other horses. If you're ready to get started, let me know! Can you PLEASE TEXT ME, 0409 947 748 ************************************ To introduce myself, pl go giddyupggs.com, follow this link https://giddyupggs.com/volunteering-help-save-lives-1-hors/ Have a look through all the pictures on this website. 95% of these horses I rescued & rehabilitated & then they went on to teach beginners.or be fabulous horses for the right person. giddyupggs.com Cheers Lena PLEASE SHARE!!!!
