Gidgee Inn is currently open to care for your accommodation & take away coffee needs, however in the present situation we must all take precautions to keep our staff and other clients safe. Please assist us in following these instructions:... If you are unwell, have been exposed to someone infected with COVID-19 or have travelled overseas in the last 21 days, please advise reception. Call ahead for bookings. If our front door is locked, Please call when you arrive, we will let you in. Please phone through takeaway coffee orders, so we can have them ready on arrival. Payment via card is our preferred payment type, with Tap & Go recommended ONLY 1 PERSON to attend each check in, and should maintain a distance of at least 1.5m from all other people while attending the motel. Should our reception area contain too many people, you may be asked to wait outside. Please use hand sanitiser on arrival at reception a bottle is in place at the reception counter Currently our amazing restaurant and bar are closed We would like to have you make payment with credit card via the Tap option and we can email you a copy of the tax invoice. We are undertaking additional cleaning numerous times a day and will be disinfecting our public areas and commonly touched surfaces. 03.01.2022 On Tuesday night The Honourable Scott Morrison MP Prime Minister of Australia stayed at the Gidgee Inn. This was his 3rd stay at the Gidgee Inn during his term in office and as always, took time to chat with our staff. This photo is with our wonderful receptionist, Sylvia and our in-house Chef, Gordon Morrison (no relation). ... Mr Morrison first visited the town as PM in February 2019 after the North West floods and again only days after winning the election when he also went to the town cemetery to honour his aunt Dame Mary Gilmore who is buried there. In September 2020 Mr Morrison had a zoom conversation with Cloncurry Mayor Greg Campbell where he said Cloncurry had always been a special place for him ever since he first went there as a young teenager with his older brother, to visit relatives who owned and ran a sheep and cattle station.
