25.01.2022 I think I’ve@finally got it!! It takes time to work out a sharpening system which has constant results. I think I’ve worked it out, getting a paper cutting edge with the minimum amount of effort. While I cannot promise this on every broadhead, it is what I strive to achieve. No tension on the paper, Just the broadhead doing its thing. 25.01.2022 I’ve decided I want to have a go at playing archery next year. Haven’t had/made the opportunity to shoot anywhere near enough over the past year No time like the present to start. I cut a set of 250 spine gidgee sticks lites on the weekend and turned the bow down to 60lbs. Destroyed an arrow in the first two shots, one fletched, one bare shaft. Today I was getting in some reps trying to build the stamina back up.... Given that I like shooting at longer ranges, todays shooting was from 90 meters. The first set 3 arrows were to find the range, then adjusted the windage a click. Shot 72 arrows in total, these were the best of my groups for the day. A couple were total shockers. Noticed my anchor was not as consistent as it should be. Think I’ll swap out my larger hunting peep for a smaller one. See more

16.01.2022 Today I have made a decision I have been putting off for some time. It appears my arrow manufacturer no longer wishes to produce Gidgee Sticks arrows. Given that I work a full time job with unpredictable hours, rather than go through the time consuming and expensive process of finding a new manufacturer who can produce arrows which meet my tolerances, I will no longer be selling arrows. I will however be placing all my focus on the production of VanDieman Single Bevel Broad...heads and ensuring there is a constant supply available in both the stores and through the Gidgee Sticks Website. Thank you to those who have supported the Gidgee Sticks Arrow brand over the past few years. 14.01.2022 Shooting some real distance for first time in over a year. 100m. Bit of left to right gusty wind, shaky form and lack of fitness made for some interesting groups. First picture was last group of the session. 300 Spine Gidgee Sticks lites with 200 grains up front weighing in at 480 grains are flying sweet. 14.01.2022 Congrats to @hunt_mountains on this ripper boar #Repost @huntingcampdownunder The Boar from my story. Walked in for over an hour in the dark to make it up onto the range. Almost every hunt I dream of finding a boar like this. A 15 yards shot with a fence for cover, it was a little back but the damage was done. It wasn't long before I gave him a second arrow at 5m and I could take a closer look at his smile. It is the ultimate hog in my book and I could happily wait another two years for the opportunity.. I rather not wait though!!

13.01.2022 So today was a day of focussing on my surprise release with this thing. Day started off with a lost arrow. Site was set at 90m shot was 30m. oops. Then blew the fletches off another arrow. Moved back to 50m, played with the sensitivity of the release until it felt I have time to aim, but don’t have to fight with it to release without consciously squeezing my hand. Not really focusing on my aim, just mostly on release. Last group of the day with my 4 remaining arrows from 50m... was a surprise. 07.01.2022 This past day has been madness getting my bow ready for local comp next weekend. Had to retune after en emergency cable build. Then work out my stabilizers properly. Bucket load of shots. Work out my 90, 70, 50 and 30 yard markers. Another bucket load of shots. Worked on my Thumb release set up, tested out a 6X lens, cut my D-loop off 3 times and retied it before I was happy, and finished the day up single shot drills from 50meters.... 05.01.2022 CHANGE of DIRECTION Over the coming months I will be moving my main focus away from online retail. I will however be focussing on wholesale to your local Archery Shops/Businesses. I work a busy regular job and my spare time is limited. That time spent packaging multiple orders can be better spent ensuring product quality and consistency of Supply. 01.01.2022 Step one of getting VanDiemam Broadheads back on the Shelf. A little bit of Machining. Next step will he the Base cut for sharpening, followed by spin testing, Polishing, weighing and Packaging. It all takes time, effort and attention to detail.
