24.01.2022 On a 500m2 block of land, this garden has intrigue, adventure, habitat, entertaining and keeps grandkids absorbed for hours. What it isn’t is a huge lawn that frankly would bore them silly. What adults see as a small space is the opposite for a small child and with imagination, can be a wonderland that inspires them for life. We designed this in 2013 and it just keeps getting better every year.

14.01.2022 Lots of people are trying their hand at growing vegies for the first time and with finances tight, we have to get creative with putting a patch together. I’ve used old timber from a house demolition to make one bed and bricks for the other. I shifted all the horrible white pebbles aside so they sit on soil and used compost and lucerne hay layers to build it up. Here’s my seeds coming along, the spinach and silverbeet planted 10 days ago as seedlings and the lettuce and rocket now 6 weeks old and being harvested by picking just the leaves i need, a couple from each plant at a time. Water daily and give it a go!

13.01.2022 Every garden, no matter what size, must have trees. We know better than to think the gutters being clean is more important than the future of life.

11.01.2022 It’s not ideal, but if this is your reality, there are plenty of ways to give those windows a view worth having with privacy, without blowing your budget. Knowing how much light reaches the fence in narrow areas is the first step. Next, don’t be tempted, ever, to concrete to the fenceline in any situation where a window or view takes in the fence. It limits the fix if you do. Think about vertical climber support, use it as a peg board for a collection of things found in nature and make your own installation with a little lightweight creeper wandering through it. Weave in some fairy lights and you’ve just made a magical view out of a tricky spot! We’ve got so many ideas for problem spaces and no window ever goes without a green view on our designs!

10.01.2022 Growing our own food gives you some sense of food security in this uncertain time and will help your mental health while you garden. If you don’t know where to start, what to plant, how to keep it all alive, we can help and will. In the coming days we will be posting here from my very own vegie patches and talking about creating some soothing spaces as well. Share, tune in and stick with me because together we can get through this and be stronger

09.01.2022 Summer Clearance. An amazing selection of pots all 40% off the RRP.

05.01.2022 Planted as seedlings just one week ago today, the spinach and silverbeet are growing well. Behind the bed Ive made from bricks is one that’s a couple of months old, full of rocket and lettuce. That’s been slower because it’s in shade from 2pm. Is it worth it? We all know now that yes it is and it’s time to get planting no matter what you make it out of. So satisfying and reassuring to have a little bit of my own food in my hands

01.01.2022 What are you planting today?
