25.01.2022 Celebrating mums I admire.... Meet the gorgeous Katie. This mum has super powers... ... If you have read my post on the mental load this right here is it in real life. I’ve never met someone so real, hard working & selfless than this incredible lady. I asked her a few questions about motherhood... What is the raw truth of being a mum? The truth.... never have any expectations. Trust the process because you are bound to set the bar too high for yourself if you don’t. My biggest learn so far is that I thought when I was no longer sleep deprived and elbow deep in nappies that it would get easier. 4 school aged kids ‘I thought I’m on the flat now’ but there is no flat its always worry, and doubt and ironically still your proudest days & your biggest accomplishment. When do you know you’ve had a win? I tell you some days the wins are few and far between but a win is the 6 of us at home together, just being here. Everyone can still be doing their own thing but I am at peace when we can just be together. #mrsgiggles #mothersday Follow us in the gram! https://www.instagram.com/p/CObqcP9AM3w/

23.01.2022 Celebrating mums I admire Meet one of my soul sisters Emily... This beautiful mother is one of a kind... Her story & journey will bring you to tears & yet she is one tough cookie & mama to two beautiful boys! Emily has one of the biggest hearts & is such an incredible mum. I’ve witnessed her busy daily life & I asked her some questions about keeping mum What’s your raw truth of being a mum? It’s the hardest fkn job you’ll ever do. You’ll second guess yourself all the time and you’ll put so much pressure on yourself to do it all but you are your little humans hero. There is nothing like a love between a mother and their child. How do you know when you’ve had a win? When your 4 year old goes to bed without every excuse under the sun #mrsgiggles #mothersday
21.01.2022 Celebrating mums I admire Meet the very real & gorgeous Jessica! Jess is living in the UAE with her husband and 3 very entertaining little people. She would have to be one of the most educated, real, raw & honest mums I know! ... Jess was born missing her left forearm, she was a Paralympian for Australia & has been awarded the OAM Author, Speaker, Body Image & Disability Activist... Wait! I’m not finished! Diversity & Inclusion Advisor Mother of 3. How’s that for a resume! The things that you can learn from this mum is exceptional. I honestly can’t help but crack up at her little ones, boy do they keep her on her toes!!! But she is admirable in her calmness... & more than capable of running a household, whilst teaching the kids a new craft idea & taking a zoom meeting .... & keeping it real. Jess you truly are such an amazing mum & I enjoy watching your little people grow What is your raw truth of being a mum? Raw truth; Motherhood has been the most challenging journey I’ve ever embarked on, both physically and emotionally. As a mother living with a disability I often feel as though the world is watching me, waiting for me to make a mistake. That’s a heavy burden to carry and the pressure is so overwhelming at times, I’ve found myself trying to constantly prove myself. My disability has in actual fact enabled me to embrace motherhood from a different perspective than most woman. I’m on this journey with my kids. It’s utterly exhausting, but it a bizarrely beautiful way. How do you know you’ve had a win? Win; I know I’ve had a parenting win when my two older kids (5 & 3) are happily playing together without my input or interference. It’s at that moment I race to get a coffee and hopefully drink it while it’s still hot. But you can guarantee that as soon as I take the first sip.. they’ll be fighting again. Ah the joys #mrsgiggles #mothersday

17.01.2022 So having a chat with a client last night made me realise I need to educate more around this! (She is going to be wetting herself laughing!) If you have an oily scalp and you think u need to wash it every day, try this for a week and let me know if you still feel you need to wash it that much!!! 2 the number of times you need to shampoo your SCALP! Shampoo on your hands and rub it onto your scalp. Use your fingertips and scrub! TWICE! If you have coloured hair, bleached o...r not, you really should be using a treatment/mask at least once a week. Not on your scalp but on your mid lengths and ends. Dry shampoo your hair at NIGHT! Before you go to bed on the day between shampoos. Spray it onto your roots and brush it through. Put more in the next morning if you need to and also a texture spray (I newly have fallen in love with this) or a texture powder. The more you wash your hair, your scalp thinks you’re running out of oil and over produces. The longer you can go between washes the better!!! #mrsgiggles See more

16.01.2022 So for those of you following along, I had a possum move in next to the salon, she is harmless, doesn’t bother me at all & I like having her. Audrey named her Cynthia.... well, a few months ago we noticed Cynthia had a baby! (Photos in comments) since then Cynthia has moved out and left me with her teenager anyway this is what is waiting for us every morning.... #mrsgiggles
15.01.2022 Honestly if anyone knows the tolerance and equally the sass of this dog, you would know how funny this picture is!! How are your animals coping with the extra traffic in the house? #mrsgiggles

13.01.2022 I’ve been MIA sorry guys!! Not sure what to say with the crazy world we are currently living in. So like always, trying to find humor I’m doing very limited visits on the road but definitely more in the salon. Only Mon- Thurs. #mrsgiggles
12.01.2022 This was prob my biggest wake up call to motherhood. A 4 week old and my first day back in the salon. I had her in a hug-a-bub around the front of me foiling away. May have dropped bleach on her 5 strands of hair. But I did it, it’s shown me lots of things being a mum, a working mum & a stay in my pj’s until 2pm mum. Never judge, it’s effing hard whatever way you do it. So Happy Mothers Day to all of the mums, want yo be mums, step mums, men that are mums, grandmothers, fur baby mums & mums in heaven. Know how amazing you all are #mrsgiggles
10.01.2022 As someone who gets to meet gorgeous new families every week, you would think I have seen it all. & believe me, I have. However every now and again I Meet a little person or a parent who just puts my life into perspective & I remember why I do what I do. I met the most gorgeous little guy today, I’m guessing he is about 7, can’t walk unless assisted, can’t see without his glasses, but we had the most gorgeous conversation. His mum drove 45mins for him to come and get a haircu...t with me, & it just reminded me how much we take for granted some days. It is free to be be kind, to stop & say hello to someone at the shops, or if you see the elderly needing help. Enjoy all the things we take for granted that comes naturally to our children, their health & being able to just pop into the shops for a simple haircut, because it really is the small things that add up #mrsgiggles #bekind See more
09.01.2022 This would have to be my video of the week. Listen closely.

09.01.2022 I’m getting inundated with enquiries about Headlice treatments. I’ve owned Giggles & Scissors for nearly 11 years and through trial and error I have found what works and what doesn’t... I have a website full of information that I will be updating with some pdf print offs for you. 1. No I won’t guarantee how long the treatment works for- why? Because I know that I will remove everything from the head. Eggs and all. However if your child uses the same brush that they used that ...morning, lays on the the same pillow case without being washed, they will probably get them again!! All of this information will be given to you during the treatment and I guarantee I can give you info on how to stay on top of it. 2. I’m a mum, and weekends are for me and my little lady. Please don’t call me on a Sunday and expect me to be at your door that day. My opening hours are on the website and on Instagram. (Mon-Thursday) 3. This year has been crazy! For so many people. I am still working but have definitely limited my areas of travel. Until we are completely in the clear I will 80% be salon based in Stafford Heights. Thank you for understanding! #mrsgiggles See more

04.01.2022 11 Years of Giggles. What an absolute rewarding journey it has been. I can’t thank you all enough for the support, friendships, lessons & the laughs. It’s certainly not glamorous & some days are heartbreaking. However I have based my working ethics on giving back more than I take. I’ve met 100’s of little people and parents, it has been my pleasure to make a simple thing like a haircut a little less stressful. #mrsgiggles
04.01.2022 Wanted to check in, I know it’s few and far between these days. A few thing I wanted to let you know! Limited areas on mobile still however still trying to accommodate you all. Hope you are all staying well & going ok with what 2020 has thrown our way #mrsgiggles

02.01.2022 Celebrating mums I admire Introducing Clare, not your every day mum. Clare is a full time mum who will very rarely let on to how hectic her daily routine is. She takes it all in her stride, she is a realist & always working towards making the world a better place for her Daughter Elly. Elly 11yrs, is a very bright young lady who has Charge Syndrome. ... Clare homeschools Elly full time, she runs a tight ship of Appointments for Elly from OT to dance lessons. Clare is the first to admit defeat when it all gets too much & needs time to herself, yet I love so much how she is always looking for new ways to cope, to involve Elly in society & I really do enjoy a catch up with this gorgeous lady Clare, know how great you are doing. You honestly have a full on mum life & know it doesn’t go unnoticed You truly have given Elly more than being her amazing mum but the life skills & resilience we all want our children to have. What is your raw truth of motherhood? Motherhood is relentless and often feels like Groundhog Day. It's also illuminating and you will learn so much more about yourself, your resilience and capabilities than you ever thought possible. It also makes you want to be a better version of yourself. How do you know you’ve had a win? When you can go a day without arguments and be content in each other's company. When your child thanks you for being the best mum ever and genuinely means it. #mrsgiggles #mothersday
01.01.2022 What are you most looking forward to when the world reopens? Mine would be sitting at a coffee shop with my girlfriends and getting a bloody pedicure #mrsgiggles
