02.01.2022 Exactly 1 year ago... The Homespun Bazaar was entering its afternoon session... Bridget O'Shannessy was winding up her set... Simon Gardner and good mate Richard Triggs were getting ready in the artists VIP tent... Kold Creature, Smoking Martha, Devonian and other local bands were making the pilgrimage out for the heavy session to follow as the crowd built in Kooralbyn for a tasty night of blasting out some solid tunes... and amongst all this a new company was also born that ...day. May I present to you all, GigTech one year on! Born out of accidental necessity and good old fashioned hard work and a genuine love of music. Just over a year ago I was given an opportunity like no other, to design and run tech for large outdoor event featuring about 20 artists and bands. So with handful of LED Parcans purchased secondhand from ebay and a donation for $1000 supplied from the local LJ Hooker Yarrabilba office to cover PA hire and tech, I set to work... This first year has been a labour of love and would certainly not have been possible without the support of many people, bands and key industry figures. So here is the list... well, at least the ones I can remember. The past and present crew at BTM Management... in particular Ben Torley, Ty Williams, Dale Litster and Zakory Cutmore, working with you guys has given me the opportunity to explore the Brisbane Music world from a place nice and close to its core. The Kooralbyn Crew Vicki Clay, Kerry Graham, Kevin Graham, Toni and Andy from Valley Kitchen, Kooralbyn, Rev It Up Automotive and Nigel LJ Hooker Yarrabilba... with a very very special thankyou to Renee Barlow for being the one person who believed in me from the beginning (even when I didn't!). My parents Martin Symonds & Barbara Symonds for some financial support, a roof over my head and (kinda) letting me keep crap at the house to keep up working on the shows... and letting me borrow stuff and steal food. A few industry boffins who have offered work, teaching, support and shown me the ropes Matthew Alexander Cutlass, Ashley Butler, Matt Hutchison, Kelly Ross, Chris Ross, Gareth Graham, Phil Wild and Steve Oh... you are all real ambassadors in making music great. To the newest contacts Nate Edwards, Nick Schneider and Peter Thornley, and my assistant Tyla Rodham I look forward to working with you and seeing some really cool shows with you guys. And finally, each and every band or artist I have had the pleasure of meeting, mixing, bossing around, fixing shit for and generally just being there to make your shows happen... you are the reason I do this work! Sorry that there is just too many of you to thank all at once... but I will start posting your stuff on here when I see you all on shows. Today I officially declare the GigTech Facebook page open!

02.01.2022 GigTech wishes everyone a happy and safe Christmas ! I hope everyone is getting into the 'spirit'...
