25.01.2022 Juicy, sweet blueberries! These ones are a little larger than usual, but no where near the Guinness World Record broken in Wilbinga, Australia last month! Harmony Primary School is also a member of the Gilberts Willetton SOS Program as the school has supporters who shop at both stores! FYI - customers can support schools at any of the 3 Gilberts Fresh Markets that they visit - they would just need to join the SOS Program at each store, as the programs are run independently by the stores ...for their own local schools. The Gilbert's SOS Program donates 1% of the customer's total spend to their nominated school. Our only requirement for joining the SOS Program is the Principals permission, and at least 5 supporters ready to sign up. Supporters can also be relatives, friends, next-door neighbours, teachers, etc. not just parents with children at the school. All members of our community are welcome to sign up and help support a local school. Did you know that Gilbert's donates 1% of SOS supporters' total shop to their nominated school every time they shop with us and scan their card? ... There are no restrictions as to how the SOS funds are used at each school - school veggie gardens, musical instruments, sporting equipment, library books, laptops, etc. We even have one school that subsidises school excursions so that all students can participate! Did you know their distinctive dark flesh colour is due to the presence of 'anthocyanins', a pigment common in many flowers & fruit, but usually uncommon in citrus fruits. 02.01.2022 Hey kids! It’s your turn to help earn some points for your school in the SOS Program! Here’s how! ... Here at Gilbert’s Fresh, we love to support our schools. This Festive Season you, the students, can help raise points and money for your school. All you need to do is come into the store, collect the Gilbert’s Fresh Christmas colouring-in, designed by Moody Rabbit, take it home and colour it in to your heart’s desire. The colouring-in pages will be available at the checkouts. Once you have finished, simply bring it back to Gilbert’s (in person) making sure you have added your name, age, and school information, plus a contact phone number on the back, and you will earn 100 points for your school. But that’s not all! All entrants will go into a raffle draw for the chance to win their school a BONUS 10,000 points, plus a Gilbert’s gift hamper for the winning entrant. This year we will also reward the school with the most individual entries with 5,000 points! This area has been put to good use with the current inclement weather , providing extra shelter for spectators at assemblies, as well as for the students at recess and lunchtimes.
