25.01.2022 Giles General Tax Advice 1 This time of year I often hear from salary and wage clients on the hunt for deductions to boost their returns with the expectation being they will receive dollar for dollar back at tax time. This is certainly not the case. Please also be mindful that this hunt for deductions may cost you more than what you think - especially if they are not necessarily needed! 23.01.2022 Giles General Tax Advice 3 If looking for a few last minute tax deductions in June please keep in mind: Salary/wage earners - Tools and equipment that are $300 or more are not immediate deduction items. ... Small businesses - tools, plant and equipment $20k (excl gst) or less are immediate deduction items. The good news (as well) is the government have extended this to the 2018 financial year as well! 11.01.2022 Kelli and I added a new member to the team this month! Monte Andrew Giles was born 13th of June and is settling in well. Giles Taxation will certainly continue, however I will be restricting appointments to the following hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 6pm - 8pm...
