25.01.2022 Rowan shared a personal and powerful testimony of the love of God last weekend. He reminded us that we are not a poor copy, but a masterpiece being created by our almighty Father.

25.01.2022 Just a Thought... I’m in the Recovery Ward at St Vincent’s Hospital and the nurse says to me You should feel twenty years younger after having a stent put in my artery. The operation only took an hour and I was awake all the time, able to view the piece of wire going through my arteries. I began to wonder what difference this will make to my life as I had had none of the symptoms of blocked arteries, no chest pain or shortness of breath. Renewing my heart should prevent a h...eart attack (my younger brother had a heart attack and stent some years ago), but my thoughts turn to the song we used to sing at church Change my heart O God and I wonder about the condition of my spiritual heart. Even though we cannot see into the condition of people’s hearts we know they all need to be taken to the Great Physician to be renewed. I was also told I need to be on some medication for twelve months and other medication forever. This further reminded me that as our Lord and Saviour renews our heart, we need to take responsibility for the continual restoration. Our spiritual medication is the reading of God’s Word, prayer, communion and fellowship to continue the restoration of the heart and live a life worthy of the Jesus’ sacrifice. Maybe today is the day you need to check your spiritual heart! Prov 4:20-23 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Geoffrey

25.01.2022 Last Sunday Neil reminded us to seek the love of the Father. If we seek Him, through obedience, then His promises will be available to each of us. The first promise is that He will not remember our sins, giving us an opportunity to move forward in confidence, given to us by our gracious God.

24.01.2022 God has many promises for His people, which is very encouraging, but they usually require a level of commitment on our part. Last Sunday Frances spoke about 'When'. These are the things found in scriputure that God expects his people to do, to keep connected to Him. There is also something endearing about the humble way that God expects us to approach these areas.

23.01.2022 There is nothing like a crisis situation to bring us to the point of adjusting our priorities. What changes have you made? One thing I have found is that during this testing time the spirit of thankfulness has come to the fore. There is a newly expressed appreciation of frontline workers in all walks of life, particularly healthcare, who at times have been at the forefront of help for each of us. We are certainly a blessed nation - our health care system serves us brilliantly... in times like this. Thankfulness is often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of our lives, especially when we are in need. Take a moment to think of all the things you are grateful for. Nationally we are celebrating Mother's Day for those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes for each one of us. It is a day to express our thanks for our mums and their selfless input into us. God sees our lives and what we have given. Psalm 62 gives hope and encouragement for those who have given of themselves. We have the assurance that rest can be found in God alone. I would encourage you to read this psalm and meditate on what God is saying through it to you. God is our hope and our salvation. God is strong. God is loving. Give thanks today. Geoffrey

22.01.2022 Last Sunday Daniel encouraged the church about this verse. Most people believe they are 'good people' and would pass judgement from God if it ever came before them. Our role is to help the Lord to examine their hearts, by giving people something to reference their 'goodness' against. This reference point is God's law, commonly known as the ten commandments. Once we all have this reference point to examine our hearts against then we can more closely see where we sit in God's eyes. =

21.01.2022 Just a Thought How do you picture God? was the question asked by the youth leader. One girl answered, I see Him on a throne, dressed in flowing robes, seated above the surrounding area. This thought has stayed with me for decades and I often think about what God is like.... Jesus asked Peter, Who do you say I am? Not what do others think but what do you think, Peter? There are many thoughts and pictures of how people see God but there are three main attributes of God. He is: Omnipotent all powerful, having unlimited power Omniscient all knowing, past, present and future Omnipresent all present, a divine presence encompassing the whole world That’s the God that we are able to call out to as we experience trials, trouble and turmoil in our lives. Another aspect of God’s character is His holiness, often considered the central part of God’s nature. This can be seen in Rev 4:8 Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come. We as Christians are called to be holy (2 Pet 3:11b You ought to live holy and godly lives) reflecting God to the world. Let’s reach out to see God in His fullness as Isaiah did (Is 6) and begin to meditate and reflect on our God. Geoffrey

19.01.2022 We are excited to be able to meet together this morning as a church family - the first time since March!

18.01.2022 Restrictions are easing. Are you ready to resume your normal modified lifestyle? Social distancing is still required with gatherings of no more than ten people allowed. So we will be able to enjoy some level of fellowship. Fellowship is the association of friends, especially those who share a similar interest. For the Christian, fellowship comes about as people gather together sharing the Word of God, the trials and triumphs of their lives as the early believers did. (Acts 2:...42) What makes successful fellowship is the thing we share in common: Beliefs, faith, hope, convictions, needs, work and struggles. Sharing these are essential for the believer in their spiritual growth and development. The unity in fellowship blesses the Lord’s heart and we receive a blessing as well. (Psalm 133). The Word of God calls for the meeting together of believers His church. Heb 10:24-25 talks about encouraging and spurring one another on in love and good deeds. We are to walk in the light (1 John 1:8), to teach, pray and spiritually impart the gifts (Rom 1:11) and to share communion. This gathering together does come with a promise in Matthew 18:20 There I am with them. So let’s start to meet together once more, seeking God’s face and how we should share the love of Christ in this post(?) pandemic season. See more

16.01.2022 Some strong words from around one hundred years ago, but in many places today this message still rings true. But be encouraged church, the answer is an easy one. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

12.01.2022 With gatherings being able to resume in the next few weeks, with several conditions, (including no congregational singing) my thoughts focus on how we do church. Last week I talked about fellowship but this time we look at worship. Maybe we need to re-examine what worship is and how we accomplish it. Worship is the highest ministry we, as created beings, can extend to our creator, attributing worth to Him, reflecting on Him and thinking about Him. Is our worship done with p...ersistence and passion or do we serve those false Gods of work, sex, pleasure, fame and money which consume all of our time and energy but offer little in return? Worship contains three essential characteristics which pertain to our God: We relate to God’s holiness We relate to God’s goodness We relate to God’s greatness God, in return, welcomes us with open arms, extending grace and mercy to those who accept what His Son, Jesus Christ, has obtained for each of us. Worship is a life style which includes service, and an attitude of heart which begins in the spiritual but also affects the physical. Read Psalm 29 Geoffrey

12.01.2022 We had a powerful sermon on Sunday morning from a very passionate Creflo Dollar. His message was based on the value of having peace in our lives. https://youtu.be/9PqA0OMxQYk

10.01.2022 Things aren’t going to be the same when this virus has run its course, seems to be a common thought running through our nation at the moment. I, like many others, wonder what’s going to be different. What will change? How will it affect me? After the Americans’ 9/11 attack the churches were filled to over flowing. Men and women were seeking God for answers but they quickly reverted back to normal. This only took a couple of weeks. We, here in Australia, have gone through th...e worst drought on record, bushfires that have taken lives and homes, and a viral pandemic which is still ongoing. Banks and churches have been found to have failed the people. Many people in our nation are going through a dark place, which brings me to the question is God trying to get our attention and are we awake? A prophecy from the Australian Prophetic Council suggests that God has a double agenda at the moment for his church/people. The first is to restore life to his church and the second is to restore the fear of the Lord. To restore the body of Christ it needs to be shocked into life, similar to how a defibrillator works. I wonder if what has been happening is God calling His church to rise up. My thoughts are drawn to the state of the churches in Revelation. Have we gradually succumbed to the lure of the world? Have we lost our first love and zeal for Christ? As I read through my daily Bible study its focus has been on how we see God. Do we see God as the Almighty or is our God contingent on our job, health, family or bank balance? We need to see God for the awesome, all knowing, all powerful, very present God He is. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38V8jnN1Kpw) Let’s reignite our love and zeal for our God and Saviour. Geoffrey

08.01.2022 Just a Thought What distinguishes us from all the other people on the face of the earth? This is the question put to God by Moses when he was instructed to lead the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land. A mish-mash group of people who had been in captivity for 400 years, who hadn’t any real self-identity, with rebellious hearts and a mind of their own. It seems a difficult if not impossible task except for the Lord’s reply, My presence will go with you, and I will ...give you rest. (Ex33:14) Ahh, thank goodness, was Moses’s reply, without God we are going to go around in circles. (Geoffrey version) We need to take hold of what God promised each believer. Jesus Christ went to the cross for you to give you the opportunity to put your faith in Him and to bring you into a father-son relationship with the Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and earth, the sustainer of life, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Two thoughts go through my mind. The first is how wonderful and blessed that I know Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour, that I have an assurance that one day I will be with my Saviour and am able to spend eternity with Him. The second is a challenge to me as I read the last command or commission that Jesus gave His disciples. Matt 28:19 Go to all nations, make disciples, baptize and teach. This is an awesome statement but we have Jesus’ assurance that He will be with us always, to the very end. Let’s step up and take hold of this challenge and see the world change (for the better). Geoffrey
