25.01.2022 That is one pretty amazing full moon halo in the sky tonight! Impending unsettled weather on the way...? A cool night ahead on the farm so let’s hope!

25.01.2022 We were all a little excited to finally see the creek run on the farm. A few storms upstream created the flow we haven’t seen for years! A good feeling that’s for sure!

25.01.2022 Lest we forget

24.01.2022 A surprise visit on the farm this afternoon from our good mate Jillaroo Jess with the off-road state of origin - TEAM QLD RAM-BO ute. The kids loved checking the vehicle out while showing off the young bulls. Safe travels to your next adventure challenge and GO QLD! Thanks for the visit!

24.01.2022 From our family to yours! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2021! We would like to say a huge thanks to our clients, agents, feed suppliers, vets, fellow breeders, family and friends for all your support throughout 2020! What a year it was! It has definitely been another challenging year for us and many fellow farmers with the drought. ... More than ever we need to support and check in with each other to make sure farmers are ok through these tough times and get the chance to take a break! We cross our fingers for a wet 2021! Stay safe over the holiday season and enjoy your time with family and friends! Cheers Team Gillmara

24.01.2022 Well the days are warming up and we have all fingers crossed there is rain on the way soon to break this dry season! Out and about on the lick run today and stopped past the maiden heifers paddock to do a check of the girls who were put to Hamandra Hectic this year. They are doing a great job given the conditions. The calves were very inquisitive this morning and loved some attention!

24.01.2022 Thanks everyone for the lovely messages being sent through on our Gillmara Grazing post for mental health week. The twins are super excited to have their mate featured for Droughtmaster Australia. Thanks for sharing and starting the conversation... it’s ok not to be ok!

23.01.2022 who would know when the rain is coming!

22.01.2022 Join us this Friday night as we explore the story of a QLD iconthe mighty Droughtmaster.

22.01.2022 such a good feeling to hear this! It’s been a long time coming and although it only lasted 5 minutes, this little storm was a welcomed 10mm for our parched paddocks! With our dams and creeks all dried up we hope there is more on the way! Hope you got some rain at your place !

20.01.2022 We’ve seen the armyworm destroy our pastures this year. Paddocks we had locked up ready for weaners and maiden heifers that would be calving ... the grasses destroyed within a week. Not a good feeling heading into the winter months.

19.01.2022 Happy Easter everyone! Unusual finds around the paddock this morning! The animals may not have been overly impressed but some kids definitely were!

19.01.2022 Those little drops of magic!

18.01.2022 It’s that time of the year again! A busy weekend drafting weaners and checking over the breeders and bulls. The mumma’s have done a tremendous job rearing their calves through the drought and although we didn’t receive significant rain, what we got was a blessing to help our breeders get through it.

17.01.2022 A colourful end to a chilly day!

14.01.2022 Thanks Graziher for sharing! Drive by coffee’s in the paddock while reading our fav mag! Keep a look out for each other peeps through these trying times. I was fortunate to have a fellow farming friend drop in with a drive by coffee from our local coffee place for some time out from farm jobs. Who knows what people were thinking driving past on the highway as we were perched on the ATV sipping coffee and reading country magazines in the front paddock. Keep on smiling through covid-19.

14.01.2022 Afternoon check in on the young droughtmaster and red brahman bulls. We are super happy with the temperament of these boys out in the paddock, and can’t wait to see them grow out next year! Some rain and grass would be a pretty good Christmas present for them. Paddock sale enquires welcome!

13.01.2022 We’ve got our blue on today in support of Men’s Mental Health Week! While we do the rounds checking our cows, what better time to pick up the phone and check in on a mate! In 2018, we were proud to create a fundraiser alongside our national bull sale which raised funds for the drought relief in conjunction with the.naked.farmer - who’s passion is to start the conversation amongst farmers and friends on mental health issues. The response we got was overwhelming, and a huge ...thank you to all who were involved. It was great to see people checking in on their family, friends and neighbours. So we encourage you to check in on your mates! And if you’re up for a chat lap around the paddock, on the side by side, don’t hesitate to ask... p.s you just might be on gate duties! A simple conversation might just save a life! #MensHealthWeek #ChatLaps

13.01.2022 Out and about on the lick run in the breeder paddock today checking on these little ones! The mumma’s are doing a fabulous job given the dry conditions. These are the first calves by Rondel Western Star and we think they are STARS in the making. We are super happy with their strong poll heads and little legs like round posts !
