24.01.2022 New parents group for Year 7 2021.

19.01.2022 MEDIA RELEASE: NSW Catholic Schools Prepare for Term Two Leaders in Catholic Education have agreed that Catholic schools will continue with out of school learni...ng for the commencement of Term 2. School and System leaders will communicate the timetable for students returning to classrooms during the early weeks of term. The return to face-to-face learning will be an orderly transition, Catholic Schools NSW Chief Executive Officer Dallas McInerney said today. Principals and schools will communicate details to their families, in most circumstances the first two weeks will be for at home learning. He added that decisions will be informed by public health advice, as opportunities arise for a return to normal school operations, they will be taken. Mr McInerney indicated that local conditions require local decisions by System Leaders and principals who are well placed to make these judgements, it is important that schools have this flexibility. Some year groups and school localities will be candidates for an earlier return to the classroom than others, for example year 11 and 12. It is also important for early age groups to stay attached to their learning he said. We will continue to engage with the NSW Department of Education and NSW Education Standards Authority to progress the return of face-to-face learning. Catholic Education acknowledges the ongoing access to government procurement opportunities for hygiene supplies and personal protective equipment. Mr McInerney said that our teachers and school communities have delivered an enormous amount of innovation of online resources and this work should be respected. We support the cross-sectoral working group announced by the Premier today. It is an important initiative that will help identify the most important and valuable aspects of this work and assess how it can form part of the future of schooling in NSW.* Catholic Schools NSW represents the state’s 598 Catholic schools, which educate some 255,000 students. *Greg Whitby, the Executive Director of Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta, will be the Catholic Sector Representative.
