14.01.2022 The Live More Challenge: August was an absolute blast with Staff and Students alike setting goals, pushing themselves physically and promoting mental wellness. The Live More Challenge had 43 participants who pushed themselves to accumulate 4092km over 494 uploaded activities that took 341 hours to complete. During the Mad Month of May we ventured north up the east coast of Australia and eventually cut across to Darwin, this time we went west and followed the coastline around to Perth and finished up beyond Geraldton WA. Between the two Challenges we almost completed a full loop around Australia, what an awesome achievement for our school community.

12.01.2022 The idea that some people are left-brain learners, while others are right-brain learners, is a MYTH and tools assessing whether a child primarily processes text... with their left/right brain are misleading, false, and should not be used. Many studies have shown structural and functional brain differences between people with dyslexia/reading impairments and their peers. These studies do not support the myth that individuals with dyslexia/reading impairment primarily use their right-brain to process text #dyslexiamyth #lightitredfordyslexia #doitred #coderead #dyslexiaawareness #dyslexiaawarenessmonth Source: GAAB LAB 2019, Dyslexia Myths, accessed September 2020,

12.01.2022 Back in Term 1 we were blessed with a perfect sunny day for our annual School Cross Country event. All students across the school participated in the event as they ran distances from anywhere between 800m and 5km. Parents and staff cheered the students on as they ran the course around the secondary basketball courts, the oval, behind the middle school, across the bridge and up and down the hill at the back of the school. It was a wonderful, community atmosphere with parents, staff and students all encouraging the participants, it was exciting to watch students as they did their very best to complete the race and cross the finish line.
