24.01.2022 Hey all, Duncs here. Been a while since I've posted, life tends to get in the way of a good time! As a lot of you know, Ive been working on the Datsun SSS Dash console for some time, but the project has dropped by the wayside for far too long for various reasons. ... I want to revive this, and get it out to market. But to do this, I still need to iron out a few small issues, and get a few more installs done before I fully release to market. For reference, the very first prototype was installed in Chris Forsbergs WagonFors 510 wagon earlier this year which had a couple of small teething issues, but overall went in without too many issues. See my previous post, or search gilson_design on Instagram. So the plan is to do an initial release of products that can be mounted and used in place. The product will be production ready, and match my other dash consoles in material and finish. With this in mind, Im going to offer a good discount to the initial release. My set retail pricing will be $450 USD plus shipping, but for this release, Im going to drop the price to $350 USD plus shipping. Im also looking to lock down the initial release to 15 RHD and 15 LHD units, but if I do get enough interest, Ill boost this to 30 of each. This will be a once off deal, and requires a 100% initial payment to move forward. Delivery will be approximately 6 weeks after. What will come with this you ask? The order will include a LH/RHD Datsun 510 SSS Dash (as pictured in LHD configuration) with machined aluminium light/wiper plate, provision for mounting gauges (no additional plates required) and indicator/high beam LED lamps. 19.01.2022 Another US/California client car on GrassRoots Garage! This is a very neat Datsun 510 with the stock look, and a #KA24DE power plant under the hood. Sebastian was one of our first of clients back in mid 2013. Nice mention of Peter Brocks V8 510 as well. Geez i'd love to see that car in person!

17.01.2022 Hey guys, Duncs here. I've been very distracted with work over the last 6 weeks, it has been crazy town over here which is quite abnormal for this time of year. I did promise to release the SSS dash a while back which is still coming, but work/life got in the way!! sorry all.... But all is not lost, I've been working on how to replicate the original texture, and i think I've got it sorted out!!! pretty bloody excited I tell ya. I'm going to test this out on the centre consoles first before moving across to the SSS dash which should be next week as i have a couple of centre console orders i need to full fill. 17.01.2022 Hey all, I have been off the grid so to speak for some time, mostly last year with some personal issues. Those closer to me know what is going on, and it has had an effect on my work on the datto dashes and my customers and even my day to day design business. I have be receiving emails from people, but i haven't responded as i was overwhelmed with other shit. For this, i apologize to everyone who has contacted me and whom i have ignored. This isn't good business practic...e, and I understand that a lot of you have probably gone down alternate paths. again, i'm truly sorry for this. But for those still after a dash console, i'll be re-releasing these over the next month or 2 once i get production sorted. I'll start off with the double DIN version and work back to the Single DIN as well. then onto the other designs i have in the background. Thanks to everyone for your understanding, I appreciate you all and happy datto'ing!

14.01.2022 Datsun 510/1600 Dash Centre Console http://www.gilsonproducts.com.au/products/ In preparation for 510 day (Aussie style) I have dropped the price for the centre consoles to $135.00 AUD. ... There are LHD and RHD drive versions with 3 holes to suit 2 1/16" gauges, and there's a universal version with 2 holes to suit 2 5/8" gauges. Don't forget the double din version as well, but pricing has been maintained at $185.00 as there was only 15 manufactured. Will ship worldwide - pricing on the website and secure payment via Paypal. 13.01.2022 Hey all, Here's a quick update on the progress of the single DIN 3 gauge dashes. The parts are currently being held at customs (DHL and Australia Border Patrol), and I’m having all kinds of issues with them at the moment to release the parts to me. If you haven’t seen, there has been a lot of tension between Australia and China, and undoubtedly USA as well with this bloody Corona Virus. ... They have had the parts on hold now for over a month, and are continually delaying the delivery with requests for information. I'm working to comply with their requests, and hopeful that they will release the dashes very soon. Apologies for the inconvenience to those that have been waiting a long time now for their dashes. 13.01.2022 So a week or so ago I had the chance to see the prototype LHD SSS dash console I produced for Chris Forsberg's Datsun 510 Wagon that was shown at SEMA earlier this year. Thought i'd show a few pics of the prototype and how it was installed. I must note that this car is unreal in the flesh, and the engine bay still gives me goose bumps each time i look at the pics. The team working on this 510 are meticulous in their work, and this was evident straight away when i pulled the... dash console out and there was 1 plug to disconnect the dash from the car. I have a few mods to make and decisions on the indicators/high beam lighting, but this setup will be ready soon for launch to my US/Canadian customers as LHD only. For reference, the gauges affix directly to the console/facia panel, unlike the OEM setup which has a separate section in behind. this allows for all matter of aftermarket gauges to fit. The finish will match the latest consoles on the market, and really maintain that OEM look and feel. 10.01.2022 As per my previous post, I had an inquiry the other day on Instagram (@gilson_design) about a gauge plate that suits the original console, i.e. where the original radio fits. So I've developed 2 options. 1. Is a 3x 2-1/16" flat gauge plate option, and ... 2. Is a 2x 2-16" moulded angle gauge plate option. My current 3x 2-16" moulded angle gauge plate option doesn't actually quite fit the original opening (see pic below) which is why I've developed the 2x version. note 3 angled gauges won't fit, which is why i have the 3x flat plate option. Its just too narrow a gap. I'm pricing this up at the moment for manufacture, but they are going to be around the $40-50USD mark plus shipping.

10.01.2022 Hey all, Duncs here. Has been a while between posts, and I didn't stick with my plan of getting the SSS dash into production for you all.... yet. Long story short, have had some personal shit that I've been dealing with over the last 3 or so years which has been holding me back from getting it into production which some of you may know about.... However, i'm getting through this shit, looking forward and getting ready to get this Datsun party started!! I really appreciate everyone's patience and apologize if I've held your project car up at all. I'm just about to add a different part to the mix, bit of a side step, but low hanging fruit is always a good thing. Be cool, Cheers. Duncs

I have been dragging my bloody heels on this one, and need to get it out there. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I've been thinking on a way to get this out as a 'special edition' which I've now got it covered for the first round of buyers. 03.01.2022 Single DIN 3 gauge consoles are finally back in stock for the Datsun 510, currently full filling outstanding orders shipping worldwide! These are for my Australian and US customers. Note the 3 gauge panel can be flipped easily for LHD or RHD vehicles, or check out our other options on the website!

03.01.2022 Have been doing some work on the LHD SSS dash for the Datsun 510 and designing and manufacturing the high beam and indicator lights for the console. these will be LED units that will be fixed to the console, high beam will be blue, and indicators will be green. My requirement for this product is a bolt in unit where the user can easily mount/wire their own gauges, wire up the high beam and indicator lamps, and be on their way with minimal modifications or extra work to install. Note this is the preliminary design, and the outer rings will be removed/not visible.

02.01.2022 Our first round of dash consoles are all delivered and customers are now receiving them all over the globe! we have customers from Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and Belgium! We sold out of the first 30 units, and we've ordered the next run of consoles for 3 gauge LH and RH drive to cover new orders coming in, so the website is still showing back orders, but rest assured there's more coming! we have 11 double din units still available as well. Also we've been busy with ...a couple of new products, one of which is coming very soon!! super excited to get these off the ground after some prototyping and testing. Stay tuned!
