24.01.2022 These guys did our Brigade a huge favour not so long ago. It has enabled us to be able to service our community better. We would just like to publicly thank them and recommend their professional services. Cheers.

24.01.2022 In parts of Australia, the bushfire season has already begun.

24.01.2022 Throughout the week multiple Gold Coast Rural Fire Brigades responded to assist Fire and Rescue crews with a large grassfire in Carrara. Crews undertook backbur...ning and patrol activities over several days and nights to contain the fire and look after nearby residents. Events like this show that we are not just restricted to rural areas, but we are called in to assist in all areas of the Gold Coast. The $1 levy that the Gold Coast community contribute through their council levies is integral to allowing us to provide this vital service to the community. We are hoping that with your community support that the council will continue to collect the levy on the rate payers behalf and support us to be able to support you.

23.01.2022 Our thoughts and prayers go out to all California residents. We all wish we could come over and be with you!! God speed #onefamily#firefighters#togetherwestand.

22.01.2022 In 2019, almost one third of the lives lost on our roads were in crashes involving young adult drivers or riders. Behind every life lost, there is a story #RoadSafetyF1rst

22.01.2022 Reports of latimers crossing having water over it, please drive carefully if you need to be on the roads and please remember if it’s flooded forget it!! We don’t wish to be called to pull you out of flood waters

20.01.2022 Unfortunately the rain came down on our planned burn area today, we will be trying again when the ground dries in that area. Can’t complain to get rain though!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

19.01.2022 Last nights our crews were asked to head out to Kooralbyn to assist with back burning operations to help maintain control of fire within Kooralbyn Valley. Crews had a great night and we were happy to be able to assist our neighbors

18.01.2022 Local Fire Ban Due to predicted weather conditions a local fire ban will be in place for the period 0001hrs on Saturday 28th November 2020 to 2359hrs on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

18.01.2022 SEVERE WEATHER WARNING UPDATE The warning area is getting smaller, but the threat is still very real. Thunderstorms are expected to form across southern ...and south east Queensland this afternoon as the weather system tracks across the region, increasing the threat of localised heavy rainfall and damaging wind. Numerous flood warnings are current in Queensland at the moment, including a MAJOR flood warning for the Logan River. Keep clear of creeks and away from stormwater drains. It’s never safe to enter floodwater in a car or on foot. You have no way of knowing what hazards lay beneath. Stay informed of the risks in your area and check the Bureau of Meteorology website for updates on severe weather and flood warnings. If you’re planning on driving this afternoon, inform yourself of road closures and hazards BEFORE you venture out: https://qldtraffic.qld.gov.au/

17.01.2022 Tomorrow we will be conducting a hazard reduction burn around Parkway drive toward the Beechmont turnoff, Nerang Murwillumbah Road (weather permitting). 17.01.2022 BREAKING: Two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed on the Gold Coast. Restrictions currently in place in Brisbane will be extended to the Gold Coast as of ...8am Saturday morning. Gatherings in private homes and public spaces like parks, will be restricted to a maximum of 10 people. Restrictions will be placed on visitors to aged care centres and disability accommodation facilities. Hospitals have been asked to restrict visitor numbers. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the symptoms seen in recent cases have been very mild and has urged people to get tested. 15.01.2022 This time last year, bushfires were threatening our city. While we can't control the bushfire season or weather ahead, we can take actions now to be better prepared. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES

14.01.2022 Hey Beechmont We’re thinking of you as your community continues to recover from the 2019/20 bushfire season. In an ongoing effort to protect life, property ...and the environment, there will be a multi-agency hazard reduction burn to the east of Beechmont Road on Thursday (27/08), weather permitting. This large strategic burn is going to be a team effort with representatives from Seqwater & Queensland Parks And Wildlife Service joining the Rural Fire Service (RFS). The burn may produce a bit of smoke, so if affected, please close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. Thanks for your patience. Beechmont area 2019

14.01.2022 Just a few small piles alight in Hoop Pine Court, permitted burn. Firecom advised.

14.01.2022 Tuesday night we helped out some local homeowners by burning some stacks they had in their paddock. Now is the time to reduce the fire risk around your homes, as a brigade we are happy to assist you. Please remember all burns over 2mx2m you require a fire permit, these are free and can be obtained from the local fire warden.

14.01.2022 THAT’S A LOT OF RED Thought Tuesday was a bit hairy? Wednesday could bring even more severe storms with destructive winds, giant hail, heavy rain and flash ...flooding for eastern Queensland. Flash flooding can be extremely dangerous. People are often swept away after they enter floodwaters on foot, or in vehicles, due to the speed and power of the swift moving water. It’s important to: Pay attention to weather patterns and weather forecasts Stay away from rivers, creeks and drains Never try to drive, ride or walk through a flash flood Get to higher ground Act quickly

12.01.2022 ATTENTION RESIDENTS LOCATED AROUND CANUNGRA AND BEECHMONT For communities located in the eastern part of our region, we recognise the smoke from the Springb...rook fire and planned burns, coupled with helicopter activity, may be quite emotional given many people are still recovering from last year's bushfires. Support is available from Ana, newly appointed Social Worker, Mental Health Bushfire and Trauma Recovery for residents located in the eastern part of the region impacted by the September 2019 bushfires. Ana is available to talk with you if you are feeling anxious at this time. You can contact Ana on 0428 057 188 or email [email protected] for a free and confidential chat. Ana is employed by Queensland Health and the role is funded from the Queensland Government bushfire recovery funding to help support our communities through this challenging time.

12.01.2022 Please be advised there will be a local fire ban effective for all of the South East Region from midnight tonight (0001hrs Sunday 22nd November) until midnight Monday (2359hrs Monday 23rd November).

11.01.2022 Mudgeeraba and other gold coast crews are currently fighting a fire in Springbrook.

10.01.2022 Great work crews.

10.01.2022 With the weather getting worse as the day goes on please remember not to drive though flood waters. We have many bridges and causeways in our area that may become affected. If it’s flooded, Forget it!! Please stay safe and think smart, our fire brigade members are our second family, keep us safe with your decisions.

10.01.2022 Small hazard reduction burn is starting. Permit and Firecom notified. Hoop pine Court.

09.01.2022 Can anyone help James out? Please keep an eye out for him and message us if you see them so we can contact him directly.

08.01.2022 For those of you who are unaware.

08.01.2022 Our First Officer arrived at the Brigade shed today in preparation for today's meeting only to find damage to our shed, fence, landscaping and mailbox. Judging by the tyre marks the driver lost control of the vehicle then tried to regain it at speed. Fortunately crews were not there at the time. Our members are volunteers and are called upon at all times of the day and night. Our Officers work hard to keep the station running. If anyone has information about this incident please contact the Brigade through this page.

08.01.2022 Our little helper today at Spartan Race Gold Coast thanks Braxton!!

02.01.2022 Australia knows their pain, send messages of support.

02.01.2022 Please heed the advice- especially those that go camping in the scenic rim and beyond. Put camp fires out with water as these winds will uncover the hot coals quickly.

02.01.2022 With weather conditions worsening over the weekend we are urging all residents to restrain from lighting fires within the area. Conditions are set to deteriorate over today and tomorrow with high temperatures and strong gustily winds. # If you currently hold a permit to light within these dates the permit has been revoked # If you see smoke please call 000 so the proper agencies can be activated.
