25.01.2022 Country Week day 3 update. Basketball beat Wongan Hills by 1 point in a tough game. Netball came from 5 goals down at half time to draw with Kulin. Both volleyball teams lost hard fought, 3 set thrillers.... We are off to Holey Moley for a game of mini golf tonight. See more

25.01.2022 Let's end 2020 with some smiles :):) This Friday sees the start of the '12 Days 'till Christmas raffle down at the school Canteen. Every LUNCH order places from now until the end of term will put you into the draw to win one of the daily lucky dip xmas gifts! There is no minimal spend and the raffle is open to all staff and students who place a lunch order by Quickcliq or cash. To keep things as fair as possible and give everyone a chance of winning, if you are lucky enough t...o win one of the cheap and cheerful xmas themed novelties then you are ineligible of entering the raffle again. 24.01.2022 LONGEST LENGTH OF LOOPS Do you know how to make the longest length of loops from one A4 piece of paper? Year One students do! The cogs were definitely turning as each student worked out how they needed to cut their paper to make the longest length of loops when we were learning about measurement. If you visit Room One, you can find out whose length of loops was the longest!

18.01.2022 Last week we had a VERY exciting CRTR Assembly Possibly the BEST CRTR assembly EVER!!! For the first time in the history of the CRTR wheel, a student spun "Funny Fairy"... This means that the winning student gets to select a staff member of their choice to wear the fairy dress. Drumroll please.... Ava Dean chose. Mr Brady!!!

13.01.2022 Our P&C is seeking EXPRESSIONS of INTEREST for subcommittee members as part of a proposed Sporting Subcommittee. Subcommittee membership is open to current and future P&C members. With approval from the school administration, the subcommittee will work directly with the physical education department to support the sporting activities hosted and attended by Gingin District High School students across all year groups. 10.01.2022 SSTUWA Gloria Lanza Scholarship Year 9 students Extension of closing date. Applications for this scholarship have been invited from any Year 9 student who will be continuing at Gingin DHS in Year 10 next year. The scholarship provides $150 towards the successful student’s school costs. The closing date for applications has been extended to Thursday 26th November. If you are interested and your child missed out on receiving an application, or lost the original one, please see Mrs Cairns for a new one.

10.01.2022 To all Parents and Guardians You are invited to our Parent Afternoon and student Learning Journey for 2021! Next Thursday afternoon ( 6 May) parents can visit their child’s classroom to see their children’s work and to provide their child with ‘two stars’ for great work, and a ‘wish’ for their next term of work. Social distancing will still apply, and parents may need to wait for a short time before they can do their child’s Learning Journey, or they may need to do the Lea...rning Journey in another room. Timetable: 2.00: Classes finish for the day. Parents will be allowed into classes from this time to talk to their child about their work and provide their child with ‘two stars’ for the work they have done well, and ‘a wish’. 3.00: Learning journeys finish. Sausage sizzle will be available in the undercover area from 2.30 and parents are able to talk socially and mingle. 3.15: School Presentation in the Performing Arts Centre. The School Presentation will outline the school’s programs for supporting students’ learning. 3.45: End FREE: Sausage sizzle available!

10.01.2022 We are so proud and grateful to share with everyone that the MINDEROO FOUNDATION FLOOD & FIRE RESILIENCE have donated more than $25,000 to buy Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for our Emergency Services Course!!!! This fantastic acknowledgement from the Minderoo Foundation means that we can further develop this course, specifically because of each student having their own set of PPE, it means that we can provide even more practical training opportunities for our students i...n 2021 and beyond . They have also donated a prize and Shield for the school to recognise the most Outstanding Participant in the Emergency Services course each year - our inaugural winner for 2020 is Harlan Auld - CONGRATULATIONS! Once again we would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to Kim Wilkie and Jamie Loyd from the Minderoo Foundation - Flood and Fire Resilience - we're really looking forward to working with you in the future. We'd also like to thank Dave Wilson and Phil Barrett for their awesome efforts in delivering this course, the Shire of Gingin for their support, DFES for their support and the Gingin VFRS - especially Nikki, Graeme and Hayden - for their talents and skills that they shared with our students.

09.01.2022 Dental Van The Dental Van is back at school to help promote healthy teeth and gums! Parents will be contacted to make an appointment for the van. Parents need to sign in at the front office and their child will come to the front office to meet them before they go to the Dental Van.

09.01.2022 Here are some recent pics from the practical activities our students were practicing for Emergency Services this week. We are so proud to share with everyone that Kim and Jamie from the Minderoo Foundation - Flood and Fire Resilience Program came out to meet our students and discuss our Emergency Services Program that we have piloted this year. They have also generously offered to help support this program going forward and we couldn't be more thrilled. We'll happily let you know the details once they've been finalised.

08.01.2022 The school would like to thank the Firefighters that attended the fire last night in Gingin. Both volunteer and professional firefighters worked into the night to make the town safe, and successfully prevented significant damage to the town. The school was protected by a crew of firefighters who were on asset protection at the school and we would particularly like to thank this crew.

08.01.2022 After a busy day with some great wins, our Country Week teams are set to play finals tomorrow. Netball (10:30am), Volleyball A (10:30am) and Volleyball B (9:30am) are all playing off for 3rd and 4th place. Our Basketball boys play in the A grade grandfinal against Bethel Christian School at 10:30am. We can't wait!

07.01.2022 Time once again for our exciting Faction Swimming Carnival! The Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday, 26th February at the Gingin Aquatic Centre. Points are awarded for competing, so get your nomination in to your favourite Phys Ed teacher and look forward to an awesome day of fun, swimming and cheering your faction to victory!
