12.01.2022 Over the weekend, I got to visit @jesswaterford garden at Mona Vane near Warren. Not one to do things by halves, Jess has recently planted nearly 100 bare root roses, adding to the already established gardens (and that doesn’t include any red roses ) She’s lucky to have her water sourced from the Macquarie river and her soil is beautiful black river soil. Moptops, underplanted with murraya and a Japanese buxus hedge form the entrance.... There is a stunning brilliant pink roses hedge framed by Cleveland select pears and Golden elms, which will one day block them off from the road. The jacaranda is the centerpiece. Boganvillias climb up trees and tank stands. Boab trees form a backdrop to the new rose garden - which Jess planted while pregnant with twins An oleander hedge provides a structure and backdrop from the driveway. Japanese buxus hedges add structure to areas and are used through the garden. Jess gets lots of ideas from Local gardens and Instagram - some of her fav accounts to follow include: @hopewood_home @farawayriver @booka_blooms And many of the gardens we’ve featured on the garden club page. by @sandra_steele @jesswaterford and me

09.01.2022 The kids were running through the sprinklers and I managed to deadhead one row of roses! Today’s going to be a good day

09.01.2022 The fields of gold are long gone and the canola was harvested last week. I’m so lucky that @clancyjob captured Soph (nearly 4) and I walking through the canola when it was flowering back in August. Soph’s since had her first ride on the header. Exciting times.

06.01.2022 At uni, legend had it that if you hadn’t started studying by the time the jacarandas were flowering, you were destined to fail the final exams. Every time I see these trees I’m reminded of my time at uni (the anxiety of having to start studying) and these trees dotted around Sydney. So, it was only fitting that yesterday I got to watch one of my college friends say I do in Sydney!... This small town girl is soaking up every bit of her first city visit in nearly a year and enjoying a lonesome getaway, where I can wonder the lane ways, eat sourdough and grab a coffee.
