23.01.2022 Do you like free stuff? We do! parkrun sponsor Medibank have donated singlets to parkrunners across the country! We will have singlets available to you at this week's Gindy parkrun. There are multiple sizes in men's and women's cuts available. First come first serve until they are gone!

22.01.2022 Why should you parkrun? Why don't you let some familiar faces tell you why they parkrun at Ginninderra's first birthday? https://vimeo.com/65041661

21.01.2022 We know you are going to miss your weekly parkrun fix tomorrow, so why don't you check out the latest Free Timed Weekly podcast! We hope you enjoy your weekend and get out to enjoy the great autumn weather!

21.01.2022 This week we would have celebrated our 8th birthday! Unfortunately celebrations will be deferred until we can come together again. However, we did want to celebrate with some of our favourite moments over the 8 years we have been parkrunning at Lake Ginninderra! To kick off, here are some candid moments from our past 7 birthdays!... We encourage you to look through the archives and share your favourite Gindy parkrun moments with us!

17.01.2022 Our course has changed a few times over the past 8 years. Have you ever wondered what it was like at the very beginning? Why don't you let our original Event Director, Russ Jefferys take you on a quick run on the very first Ginninderra parkrun course: https://youtu.be/JAAsmjgxgQM

17.01.2022 Thank you to Anna Mayberry!

16.01.2022 Do you know someone who hasn't registered for parkrun yet? You can register for parkrun here https://www.parkrun.com.au/register/

16.01.2022 Volunteers are the backbone of parkrun, and at Gindy we are lucky to have some amazing volunteers! So during our 8th birthday week we want to make a special shout out and thank you to all our vollies who make parkrun special each week! We have held 406 events at Ginninderra, with an average of 10 volunteers each week it means over the past 8 years we have had more than 4000 volunteer spots filled! Did you know there is a special t-shirt for volunteering? The parkrun purple shirt is for parkrunners who volunteer 25 times. All we ask our runners is to volunteer three times a year... of course you can always volunteer more often if you want to get that purple shirt quicker!

14.01.2022 Want to win a fitness pack? Check out how now!

13.01.2022 What makes these two images special? They are the moment the Ginninderra parkrun course record holders crossed the finish line. Coincidently both runners achieved the records at two special Gindy parkrun events. Marty Dent set the course record at event #30 (yes, more than 350 events ago!) in a time of 14:42! Event #30 was special because it also celebrated the impending wedding of our long time Event Directors, Sally and Gregor!... Sarah McRae crossed the finish line in a time of 17:55 to set the women's course record at event #105. This event was special because we celebrated our second birthday! We love celebrating achievements at parkrun, whether it is a course record, a PB, reaching those milestone run, or finishing the course for the first time! What is your most memorable achievement at Ginninderra parkrun?

10.01.2022 Ginninderra parkrun #410 - 21 November 2020 With a glorious November day, we welcomed 274 (14 more than last week) parkrunners to our event today. 10.01.2022 Thank you to our awesome volunteers and staunch runners this morning! Coffee is warming at Birrigai Cafe :-) Results are up and photos to follow https://www.parkrun.com.au/ginninder/results/latestresults/... Congrats to our milestone runners too

09.01.2022 Unfortunately, but as expected, all parkrun events remain suspended until the end of June. parkrun Global and parkrun Australia continue to work together to monitor government advice regarding mass gatherings. Hopefully as we move through the 'return to' phases, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We look forward to being together soon!

08.01.2022 This week we are celebrating National Volunteer Week which acknowledges the generous contribution of those who give up their time to support others. Volunteers are the backbone of parkrun, and without them we would be unable to hold events. While it is easy to volunteer when the sun is shining and the temperature is high, it is another thing to volunteer when the temperatures in Canberra dip below zero! We want to thank all our volunteers, we appreciate the joy you bring to each and every event... no matter the temperature!

08.01.2022 The latest updates regarding parkrun Global's response to the COVID-19 pandemic is now available. We will continue to inform our parkrun community via Facebook and take guidance from parkrun Global and parkrun Australia.

04.01.2022 It’s a beautiful morning for a run or walk, come and join us!

03.01.2022 Have you seen the latest news? You can now record your (not)parkruns! While the runs don't count towards your milestone totals, (not)parkrun is a great way to challenge yourself and keep in contact with our great parkrun community! Check out more below ... And before you ask, watching someone else run doesn't count as volunteering!

03.01.2022 parkruns worldwide will continue to be suspended throughout May. Unfortunately this will mean that it will be some time before we are able to run together again. We hope all our Gindy parkrunners are taking care of themselves and are finding ways to keep fit and connect with friends and family. We always like hearing what our parkrunning family is up to, feel free to post pictures of your running adventures!

02.01.2022 parkrunners add your name to the petition to get Lake Ginninderra paths widened. https://taracheyne.com.au/pet/widen-lake-ginninderra-paths/

02.01.2022 Another great day at Ginninderra parkrun today. Congratulations to our 274 runners and many volunteers for making the event possible. Results are live https://www.parkrun.com.au/ginninder/results/latestresults/... Photos and run report to follow. See you next week!

02.01.2022 ***NOTICE TO PARKRUNNERS*** All events across Australia are cancelled until at least the end of April. While this is not ideal, it is necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of all Australians.... In the down time, we encourage you to continue to exercise as it is important for your mental and physical wellbeing. However, ensure you follow guidance issued by the Federal and ACT Governments. And be sure to follow parkrun and parkrun Australia for your ongoing parkrun fix!
