25.01.2022 Update: Circulation of False Information Regarding COVID-19 Case Numbers GV Health has become aware of an email that has been sent from a local transport compa...ny earlier this afternoon stating that there are 20 positive cases of COVID-19 in Shepparton at present. Further the email states the source of this information is a GV Health staff member who contacted the author of the email. This email has also named a number of locations in Shepparton that are of concern. The information contained in this email is false and inappropriate on a number of levels. It is also particularly unhelpful regarding the current situation many people are dealing with in relation to COVID-19 not to mention GV Health’s staff who are working around the clock to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The person who sent this email has been contacted directly by GV Health and a retraction is to be sent this afternoon. Contact tracing in regard to the new COVID-19 cases as detailed in my post earlier today is continuing. A number of people identified as close contacts have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results. Further information will be provided as soon as possible.
