24.01.2022 You little beauty!! Dear Martin Following months of concerted work on your behalf, we are pleased to announce that today the AHA has had a major breakthrough with WAs restrictions on hospitality venues to be substantially relaxed, putting WA well ahead of the rest of the nation on the road to recovery.... Premier McGowan has demonstrated strong national leadership in arriving at a solution that is tailored to WAs COVID-19 situation. We are pleased to announce that as of 11:59pm on Friday 5 June 2020, phase three restrictions will come into effect: The 1 person per 4 square metre requirement will be scrapped. A new requirement of one person per 2 square metres will apply. Venues will be allowed up to 100 patrons per separate area or room A new maximum capacity of 300 patrons per venue The requirement for alcohol to be served ancillary to a meal will be removed Patrons are allowed to be served at a bar, but must remain seated to be consuming alcohol Contact tracing requirements will remain and be required for each area or room in a venue This is a significant development and the AHA(WA) welcomes todays announcement and leadership of Premier Mark McGowan and the support of Minister Paul Papalia. We have worked continuously over the past weeks to secure this outcome and commend the McGowan Government for delivering practical and workable trading conditions that put our industry well ahead of other Australian States and Territories. Preference will be given to a local Broome resident & would suit a young (15+) energetic, fast-thinking, fast-paced & enthusiastic person who may be studying during the day, however would also suit WHV applicants if locals do not apply. Previous experience of excellent, friendly & efficient customer service within an asian restaurant would be highly regarded (but not essential - we will train you if you don’t have the experience) as well as the availability to work 3 weeknights & 1 weekend night 5.00pm-8.30pm (number of days may be less or more to suit the applicant). You must also have completed the mandatory AHA Hospitality & Tourism COVID-19 Hygiene Course (45 min easy on-line training). 18.01.2022 Fantastic fun time was had by all last night down at Paspaley Plaza, with a good sized & happy crowd enjoying great food from all the busy food outlets, while listening to the sweet vocals & acoustic guitar of Carley B. WASAMBA drummers were a huge hit, adding awesome colour & energy to the event. Thank you to Julia Mikhlik from Shire of Broome Chinatown Revitalisation Project for the support of this event and the 5 future events run fortnightly on Saturday night. Also thanks to Tamyla Strahan of Paspaley Plaza & all the food traders for feeding the masses. Next event Saturday 1st August, dont miss it!

Unfortunately we are not in a position to open as our new replacement chefs / cooks are in Sydney, with no-one able to advise or predict when WA will open it’s border to enable their entry (Mark & Gladys don’t appear to be on the same page at present so that happening soon is looking a tad grim). We have been seeking alternative options in Perth for the past few weeks without succ...ess as it seems many restaurants there are in the same position as us. We will continue to seek suitable chefs / cooks & explore other options that may enable us to open ASAP.
