01.01.2022 The sixth vintage of the Gioiello Estate Wines have received their highest scores to date in the 2015 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion. James Halliday has been at the forefront of the wine industry for more than four decades and the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion is the number one bestselling guide to wineries and wine in Australia. 2012 Mt. Concord Syrah: 95/100... In its first release, our ‘reserve shiraz’ has scored 95/100. James’s tasting notes are as follows: Good hue; an elegant and fresh wine with focus and precision on the medium bodied palate, which is mouth watering, so fine are the tannins, so controlled the oak. 2012 Old Hill Chardonnay: 93/100 Receiving its best score to date, our 2012 Old Hill Chardonnay now matches our previous highest score, awarded in 2011 to our 2009 Reserve Chardonnay. James notes: Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented in French oak and extended maceration has resulted in a complex bouquet and elegant palate. The length is excellent.
