SEVEN NEWS SYDNEY An Irish national has faced court today after allegedly defrauding two women of about $900,000 in an alleged roofing scam across Sydney. Police allege the 39-year-old man posed as a tradie and defrauded a 70-year-old woman after carrying out w...ork on her Stanmore home between May 2019 and August 2019, before also defrauding a 56-year-old woman after conducting unfinished work on the roof of her Kensington home between September 2019 and December 2019. www.7NEWS.com.au Police statement: An Irish national will appear in court today after allegedly defrauding two women of about $900,000 in an alleged roofing scam across Sydney. Police will allege the 39-year-old man posed as a tradesman, defrauding a 70-year-old woman of $276,300 after carrying out work in Stanmore between May 2019 and August 2019. It will also be alleged that the man defrauded a 56-year-old woman of $623,180 after conducting unfinished work on the roof of her Kensington home between September 2019 and December 2019. Following inquiries, police from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday 19 May 2020 in relation to the Kensington incident. About midnight (Tuesday 26 May 2020), detectives from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command arrested the man after finding him in a car outside a hotel in Wolli Creek. He was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where the warrant was executed for the offences of receive property stolen outside NSW, and dishonestly obtain property by deception; he was also charged with a second count of dishonestly obtained property by deception over the Stanmore incident. The man has been refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Tuesday 26 May 2020). Inquiries continue. See more

05.01.2022 DO YOU WANT $25,000 PAID FROM THE GOVERNMENT TOWARDS YOUR RENOVATION OR NEW BUILD? Here are the key points you should know: The Australian Government today announced an incentive package to assist those wanting to renovate their home or build a new home, to qualify for the grant the way we understand the announcement the following criteria must be met.... a) For a single person have an income of $125,000 per annum or LESS or a couple $200,000 per annum or less. b) Your house and land must be under $1.5 million in value. c) The Renovation or new build must be between $150,000 and $750,000 in value. d) The renovation or new build must be done by a licenced contractor (no owner builders). e) Your building contract must be signed between 4th June 2020 and 31st Dec 2020. f) The grant does not apply to unattached additions such a pools, garages, sheds etc. IF YOU FIT THIS CRITERIA NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO SEND US A EMAIL TO [email protected] SO YOU CAN GET THE GRANT TOWARD YOUR RENOVATION.
