Did you learn a new craft ? Read a. good book ? Finally finished knitting that jumper you started in 1989 ? Put the engine back in that old wreck thats been sitting waiting for your attention ? Revamped the workshop( Ok enough about our doings now YOUR turn ) We are all in this together so plesse dont feel alone .Pop a few lines up here and lighten your day Rob has grown a beard ( and looks like a woolly goat at the moment ). By Christmas he should be looking the part (although I wont be able to get away with dressing him as the Christmas Fairy ) We have been practising our songs and will ( hopefully) be able to hold a tune by the time restrictions are lifted Looking forward to seeing all your posts on here real soon xx Hilary Reynolds See more

08.01.2022 Sunday saw some of our members visit the Peninsula Country Music Club in Rye. A lovely friendly day of music
07.01.2022 This is a letter of appreciation from Craig Little & the Little family following the donation in Carmel Little memory of the Dialysis Chair at the Latrobe Cancer Care Centre To the Gippsland Country Music Club members , Dad recently shared with me a picture of the chair, that bore a plaque dedicated to Mum that was donated to the Latrobe Regional Hospital.... I never suspected a chair would make me emotional, but I was genuinely overwhelmed in this instance, thinking about the thoughtfulness behind the incredibly generous gesture. So, I would like to say thank you to the Gippsland Country Music for honouring Mum in such a wonderful way that will make a difference to those who cared for her, as well as those who will, unfortunately, share her experience. I also wanted you to know just how much enjoyment Mum got from her involvement with the club. Mum loved music, but she also loved being a part of something larger than herself and the camaraderie that the club provided. I know Mum would have been overwhelmed with the significant donation to help those with cancer. One thing Mum and Dad both taught me through the way they lived was that if you just focus on yourself it flattens and narrows your life, makes it poorer in meaning and less concerned with others. It gives me great comfort that the club she got much joy from has recognised her in a way that is consistent with how she lived and I again offer my sincere and humble thanks to the Gippsland Music Club. Regards Craig Little

06.01.2022 WOW what a day we had yesterday ( Dec15th) at our Christmas Break-up 136 happy faces through the door and a great line up of 35 artists entertaining us . The tables in the kitchen were groaning with food as you will see in some of the photos I will put up here A big thank you to EVERYONE who helped set up ( 6.45am start for some ) and for those who continued to help throughout the day. We have such a friendly group of like minded people sharing their time and skills with us . A big thank you to past committee member Rhonda for taking photos on the day to free me up to help with some of the many other duties during the day. I wanted to make sure those moments were captured so we could share them with you all , whether you were able to attend or not.
05.01.2022 A very successful weekend spent representing the Gippsland Country Music Club up at the Lions Wilderness Village at Licola entertaining bushfire affected people from Buchan & Gelantipy . Wally Staff supported by Ollie Archibald , Karla Clancy ,Margaret Wilson, Wayne Shaw , Merle Hicks (and Rob & I were there to make sure the others behaved ) We held a little ukulele class during the afternoon for the kids and then got spruced up after dinner and got the music happening a...nd the toes tapping. The little ones had great fun with lots of kids songs to get the show started . Hokey Pokey and some scrambling when the music stopped to grab themselves a hat , plus a few rounds of musical chairs , to name a bit of the fun stuff then we got into the more serious stuff for the next few hours until everyone was ready for bed . I was presented with a lovely letter of thanks from the people which was just the icing on the cake as we had all enjoyed ourselves helping them to forget the stress of the last few months This is the letter I received Saturday night before the music stopped. Dear Gippsland Country Music Family, It has been a wonderful treat to have you play and share what has been a wonderful weekend for our mob from Buchan & Gelantipy . It has been a huge year for all of us and this type of social humanity is the stuff that brings us Country Folks together . Among our crew you will see a crew of folks having a break, much needed. There are Nurses ,Teachers, Business owners & Farmers among us. We have felt very privileged to share this weekend with you guys Thank you for your approach & kindness and hope to repay it sometime down the track Kind Regards Kate - Here are a few pics of the event ( could be more coming after editing )
05.01.2022 Another great day at the Boolarra Hotel for the Gippsland Country Music Club Weather was a little bit drizzly to start with but nothing to dampen the spirits of all the people who came along and of course the sun came out and shone for us Great artists Great venue and Great fun day getting together . A big thank you to everyone for coming along and participating Thanks to the committee members for their tireless efforts all day . Thankyou to everyone for contributing in raffles etc . & a big thank you to Kevin and the Boolarra Hotel for all their support
04.01.2022 Today, Wednesday 8th July 2020, is a very sad day for everyone in the Gippsland Country Music Club ,as today we have had to say goodbye to Carmel Little . Sadly Carmel lost her battle with Cancer . Our thoughts and deepest sympathy goes out to her devoted husband Jim . Carmel & Jim were great supporters of the Club and It was because of Jim that our magazine was born . They both loved Country Music and were always there to support in any way they could . We are absolutely devastated with Carmels passing and broken hearted for Jim
03.01.2022 Just a reminder that there will be no Club day this month (tomorrow) due to the election. Our Cllubrooms are still being used on Sunday. We will be having a barbecue on our June Club day which is also our Slim Dusty day.
02.01.2022 What a great response to our request for a small gift of chocolates or bickies for the Soup Kitchen to distribute to some less fortunate people so they have something for Christmas Thank you to everyone who contributed
01.01.2022 Hi to you all I hope you are all doing the right thing and staying at home It seems so strange to not have our Country Music Club Day BUT never fear ....it WILL return to "normal"again and Gee Whiz what a day that will be In the meantime ,and because you cant get our newsletter, I have popped some of the photos up here that were taken at our last Club day in March. Hope you enjoy these memories
01.01.2022 GDay to you all Well we ,your committee ,thought you all deserve some good news at this time of lock down, so here we go..... (no sorry we arent getting together soon BUT .....) This great Club of ours, The Gippsland Country Music Club, has been able to donate the magnificent sum of $10,000 to The Gippsland Cancer Centre. This is a fantastic effort on YOUR part, as, because of the Covid situation, we have only had 6 months to raise this great amount... It was unanimously decided by your Board, that the money would be used to purchase a much needed Dialysis Chair for the Cancer Centre..Also it was decided that we attach a plaque to this chair "In Memory of Carmel Little" Carmel was a great supporter of both the Club and its chosen Charity, namely the Gippsland Cancer Centre. Carmel was always there, selling raffle tickets for years.and her quiet smiling presence will be very much missed. The remaining money has been put towards a defibrillator for the Cancer Centre. Both of these items have been ordered by the Centre and as soon as they arrive we will post photos. We, the Board, sincerely thank you for making this possible for without your backing and support, this would not happen. So, be very proud of yourselves . Sadly there appears no visible light at the end of this Covid tunnel BUT ....It WILL happen so look after yourselves. Be safe and our Club days will definitely return. So keep practicing your music and please, keep in touch with us all. Regards Rob ph. 0427291511 See more
