04.01.2022 As producers we believe that one the most important things we can do is to exceed the expectations of those who eat our produce - be that a grilling steak, a pre-prepared meal or a pie . We work hard on-farm to select on genetics, breeding and nutrition, and especially on the welfare of our livestock to minimise stress at every stage in their lives. (Not to mention our environmental management efforts) To ensure the line is intact from farm to table, we have our own processin...g facilities and a key team to make it happen. The MSA grading system has greatly helped us as producers hone our skills at a farm level to minimise animals that wont make the grade, selecting on temperament, marvelling, fat cover and a range of other traits. What we do - and have done for nearly 20 years - in the processing has always set us apart. When our carcases are hung, we use the Tenderstretch or natural hang method. Explained below, this takes the great work of the producers, and enhances the eating quality significantly so customer expectation is often exceeded. Its not a good story, but great science that has been paid for through producer contributions to the R&D team at MLA.
