25.01.2022 Today we said goodbye and good luck to one of our longest serving installers. Ryan joined us 4 years ago as a fresh faced young fellow, keen to begin an electrical apprenticeship. He would be the first to admit he came with a few rough edges, but we saw his potential from day 1. He has now completed his apprenticeship, and is obtaining his a-grade electrical license. We have developed Ryan over the last 4 years, turning him into a quality tradesperson. ... More importantly, he has overcome a few ups and downs, settled down with a lovely partner Katie and a young child, and turned into an outstanding person. Ryan has decided to take over his fathers business, and will be remembered fondly for his contribution to our journey. Its sad to see Ryan go, but it creates a new opportunity for another aspiring young first-year apprentice Nick, who is already showing tremendous promise. Its a privilege to provide these opportunities for young workers in the Latrobe Valley, guiding through what can be a turbulent stage of their lives, and sending them off as well rounded and mature tradespeople. Thanks for everything Ryan, we wish you all the best.
23.01.2022 Battery storage - the results speak for themselves! Weve just had a fantastic chat with Jo from Cowwarr, who chose Gippsland Solar to install a 12kW system with a Tesla Powerwall 2 early in summer. Jo was thrilled to find her first electricity bill had dropped from around $1,200 per quarter to $4.08 in credit for the first month! The savings will be higher in summer than other months, but overall Jos investment is looking like a very smart one. ... Not only that, but Jos battery has provided reliable supply in 12 power interruptions since being installed, taking over seamlessly to run the house. If youve been considering battery storage, there may never have been a better time. Rebates of $4,838 are available for nearly 250 Victorian postcodes. There are some restrictions on who can claim the battery rebate, so contact our team to see if you are eligible. Gippsland Solar are one of Victorias largest and longest running solar companies, wholly owned by RACV and employing over 70 people. Up to 90% bill reduction Reliable supply in a blackout Significant battery rebates available Finance available with no deposit, through our colleagues at RACV finance Were still open for business despite the current challenges. Contact us on 1300 447 765, or go to www.gippslandsolar.com.au.
22.01.2022 Business as usual (with some changes). Despite the challenges, Gippsland Solar and RACV Solar are still trading in a modified capacity. Were working very hard to keep our people employed, and the phones are still ringing. Our team (and our customers) have been incredibly flexible and willing to adapt. Remote and online site inspections (delivered in real-time) are proving very effective, allowing us to provide the same service without physically coming into your home.... Give us a call if you are interested in Solar or battery storage. Wed love to chat with you.
21.01.2022 No rest for our commercial team today, working day and night with Powercor to commission this electric vehicle charging station in the heart of Ballarat. This is the third rapid EV charging station we have delivered for our friends at Chargefox. It follows on from similar installations at RACV Torquay Resort and Old Gippstown in Moe, Latrobe Valley. The charging station will recharge most common EVs in 20-40 minutes. ... It will be up and running later this week, stay tuned for more details!
21.01.2022 Nicks career in renewable energy begins! If theres one thing that fills us with positive vibes, its handing a first-year apprentice their uniform on Day 1 of a career in renewable energy. Nick was born and raised in the Latrobe Valley, and has never wanted to be anything other than an electrician. He is following in the footsteps of his father, who has worked in the power industry as an electrician for 30+ years. ... Nick completed a work experience program at Loy Yang power station, and on the encouragement of his dad, decided to pursue a career in renewable energy to broaden his electrical skills. Nick is only 19, but has already demonstrated maturity beyond his years. After joining the cadets as a 16 year old, he rose to the rank of Petty Officer after demonstrating outstanding leadership. After the first meeting with Nick, we just had to bring him into the team, and fortunately our recent growth has allowed us to create this opportunity. It was really inspiring to hear Nicks story. He is very passionate about the energy sector, having been immersed in it for his whole life. He considers that he is continuing his dads legacy of working in the power industry, albeit in a way that will create the opportunities for his career progression. Welcome on board Nick, we look forward to seeing where your career goes from here.
19.01.2022 What does a performance guarantee really mean? In the solar industry, performance guarantees on commercial systems have become the flavour of the month. Many companies are offering these guarantees, which include compensation if the system doesnt generate what it should. The thing is, these guarantees can be quite ambiguous, with lots of loopholes and little accountability to monitor the system after installation.... This is why RACV Solar has invested heavily in our fleet monitoring portal. Rather than relying on 3rd party manufacturers, we have designed our own in-house portal to track every system supplied with a performance guarantee, every day of the year. This is a screenshot of the API portal (client details removed). No matter what inverters or monitoring software was installed, we are feeding the API performance data into our portal, tracking the solar generation against our estimates for every day of the year. This has been a major investment, but it allows us to completely control the user experience, and keep ourselves accountable to our clients. You can see here that the weather has been unseasonably good for winter, with some poor days in between. Overall, these systems are performing at 105-122% of their estimates since day 1. Hopefully you all appreciate the detail as much as we do!
19.01.2022 Another commercial solar masterpiece underway! Our team are halfway through delivering this huge commercial solar installation. We cant wait to share more with you when its complete. Happily, we can report we are still busy installing solar for homes and businesses across Victoria, and about to announce our first MAJOR multi-state project along the eastern seaboard. Despite the uncertain times we are all facing, the business case to reduce electricity bills through solar is... still compelling. With a combination of the falling cost of solar, and historically low interest rates, the future for small and large-scale solar and battery storage is still looking strong. We are also encouraged to find that clients are increasingly demanding quality components, performance guarantees, proactive monitoring and Maintenance Contracts, favouring long-term value over the sugar hit of cheap upfront cost. As a company that has always strived to provide high quality products and services, we welcome this trend towards quality with open arms. #commercialsolar #batterystorage #solarpv #renewableenergy
17.01.2022 Winaico solar panels go to the top of the class! Our premium WINAICO Australia solar panels have been awarded with the Top PV brand for 2020. This independently judged award confirms what we already knew; that Winaico solar panels are a fantastic choice for Gippsland Solar and RACV Solar clients. ... With many of the industrys most respected solar companies offering Winaico modules, you can be sure they will perform at the highest levels in high temperature, humidity, coastal and high wind locations. We will be running a number of posts over the next month, outlining the 10 key deals why Winaico are worth paying a little extra for. Pay attention to these posts, because you will also have a chance to win something at the end! Congrats to Blair and the team at Winaico on your award, we look forward to many years of combined success.
17.01.2022 Orphan wombat recovery in East Gippsland - powered by renewable energy! Weve delivered some amazing projects through our Gippsland Solar (now RACV Solar) Community Fund over the years, but this donation to Goongerah Wombat Orphanage is particularly close to our heart. When Sharon and Emily had to flee from the bushfires on New Years Eve, they didnt expect to find much on their return. Miraculously, the orphanage remained largely intact, despite everything around them being... devastated. Sharon and Emily had been trying to run the orphanage from a 20 year old off-grid solar system, which didnt allow them to use electricity after the sun had set. Thanks to our amazing suppliers at SunPower, Fronius, Selectronic, PowerPlus Energy and Clenergy, we were able to supply and install this cutting edge off-grid solar system (valued at $50,000) for no cost to the orphanage. Sharon and Emily were grateful for the support, so much so that they named their new orphan wombat after our Regional Manager Landon! For more information on Sharon and Emilys mission, and to find out how you can support their rebuild, go to https://www.goongerahwombatorphanage.org/ You can also read more about this amazing story at https://www.racv.com.au//commun/help-wombat-orphanage.html
17.01.2022 If youve followed the Gippsland Solar journey, youll know that solar for schools is one of our strongest areas. Its also a great passion for us, delivering energy savings, and also building renewable energy into the curriculum for the students. This 180kW system for Drouin Secondary College is another great success story. Delivering tremendous savings since being delivered last year, its a solid investment that will improve the overheads at DSC for decades to come.... Installing solar during school terms poses logistical and OHS challenges. With schools being closed to students at the moment, our team is swinging into action, installing half a dozen large school projects that could normally only be delivered during school holidays. We will be sharing these projects as they come online, which include a combination of public and private schools. Some of them were paid for outright, and some were installed for zero cost upfront, but all of them will deliver significant financial and environmental benefits. If your school would like to reduce their overheads with solar, reach out and ask us how we can help.
17.01.2022 Matts journey as an electrician begins today! Last week, we brought you a story about Nick, an enthusiastic young man who began a first year apprenticeship with us. Well heres one of our apprentice success stories, who is starting the next stage of his journey in renewable energy. ... Congrats to our superstar Matthew Ripper, who completed his exams with flying colours, and takes up a role as a fully qualified a-grade electrician within our team. It has been a pleasure to watch Matts development within our ranks. Hes the kind of guy that gets along well with everyone, and fits into any team he works within. Ripper by name, ripper by nature. Congrats on achieving your goal Matt, youre a wonderful asset to the team.
16.01.2022 Another prestigious Victorian school turns to solar! We were thrilled to deliver this 100kW solar installation for Shelford Girls Grammar in Caulfield recently. It was a highly technical and challenging project, working across multiple buildings and switchboards. Our investment into in-house electrical engineering, and developing an outstanding team of installers really shines through on a project like this one.... With over 120 years of history, and a strong advocate for girls education, Shelford are one of Victorias most respected learning institutions. The leaders at Shelford were keen to not only deliver a positive environmental and financial outcome for the school, but to embed sustainability into the curriculum. We look forward to presenting the outcomes to the students, and educating them on the future of renewable energy and electric vehicles. Thanks to the team at Shelford for partnering with RACV Solar, we look forward to some longer days so the benefits really start to shine!
16.01.2022 Presbyterian Ladies College Melbourne raises the bar for renewables! Were proud to show you one of the largest, and most challenging projects weve ever delivered. We were thrilled to be awarded this contract by Presbyterian Ladies College, one of Australias most respected private schools.... Thanks to this 600kW system and a renewable energy offtake agreement with Flow Power, PLC now source around 130% of their electricity needs from renewable energy! Founded in 1875, PLC has produced a long and impressive list of alumnae, including Dame Nellie Melba who features on our $100 note. The closer you look at this installation, the more intricate and detailed it becomes. This was a monumental challenge for our engineering and delivery teams, but we are thrilled to say that they have raised the bar even higher on this project. Thanks to the team at PLC for entrusting Gippsland Solar with this amazing project. We have thoroughly enjoyed our partnership, and look forward to delivering many years of solar-powered savings for you.
16.01.2022 A timely message from our affiliated business at Gippsland Heating & Cooling!
16.01.2022 Its lights out all over Gippsland, with many thousands of homes without electricity after some crazy storms. Jo from Cowwarr installed a Tesla Powerwall battery with Gippsland Solar last year. Although we explained that the financial returns on battery storage were borderline at best, she wanted to be self-sufficient due to the frequent outages in her region. Looks like its come in very handy tonight!
15.01.2022 Its always a Happy Friday when you start the day with feedback like this. Thanks Tricia! We recently had a solar system installed through RACV Solar in Bairnsdale. From the moment we initially walk through the front door, we could not have asked for better service. ... Aaron was a wealth of information and helped us understand the product and process. Landon came and advised on what size system would suit our needs and with his help made everything go seamlessly. Michael and his team installed the system. They were neat tidy and courteous. Thank you to all concerned. We would have no hesitation in recommending RACV Solar. Kind regards, Tricia.
15.01.2022 How would you like to save up to 80% on your hot water bills? If youre looking invest money now for long-term savings, replacing an electric hot water unit with a Reclaim heat pump is a great option. This recently installed system will save the client a staggering amount per year, reducing their hot water costs by around 80%.... It can also be programmed to run during daylight hours, when they have excess solar power to use. Some of the benefits of a Reclaim heat pump are: - Whisper quiet, at around 40dB (quieter than most fridges) - Co-efficient performance of up to 5 (meaning it uses 1kW of electricity, and produces the equivalent of 5kW of heating) - Environmentally friendly CO2 refrigerant (no harmful gases) - Easy replacement (replace existing tank, and install the heat pump next to it) If your hot water costs are high, or you are feeding a large amount of excess solar into the grid, call us for a chat about the Reclaim heat pump.
13.01.2022 No grid electricity? No worries! Power outages are no problem for our solar guru Shane. When the electricity went out in his street today, Shane didnt even know until they received a text from AusNet Services. Their battery storage system had taken over instantly, and everything ran off the batteries without so much as a flicker.... Being an old-school solar industry guru, Shane is still running a 20 year old bank of second-hand gel batteries. Thanks to our favourite Fronius inverter and the Australian-made Selectronic hybrid inverter, the batteries are still working a treat, keeping the lights on and the house warm during this power outage. Coincidentally, this week marks 6 years for Shane at Gippsland Solar. He was our first electrician, our first Registered Electrical Contractor, and has overseen the exponential growth of our business. Hes also developed many of the next generation of solar legends at Gippsland Solar / RACV Solar, while sitting on a number of industry advisory panels and standards committees. Shanes loyalty, commitment and friendship has been one of the cornerstones of our journey. We always say that our business is only as good as our people, and Shane is one of the very best.
13.01.2022 Is there anything our amazing installers cant do? It was a wild and windy morning across Gippsland, with a number of trees down across the roads. Nothing was going to stop our installation team from delivering sunshine to another customer in Neerim South though. ... Luckily one of our team had a chainsaw in the ute, and they were able to clear the road before the emergency services turned up. They were very popular with the locals, who had been waiting patiently for quite a while to get through. Great work everyone!
12.01.2022 Largest solar installation in East Gippsland taking shape! Were working on something big. In fact, it will be easily the biggest solar installation in East Gippsland. Anyone want to guess where it is, and what size it will be?
11.01.2022 Its a hugely exciting day for our star performer Tyler and his partner Tahlia, who welcomed young Ziggy into the world. Tyler Grassens, affectionately known as Grassy, is a tremendous success story for RACV Solar (formerly Gippsland Solar). We received a call from another solar installer back in 2016, who was winding up his Latrobe Valley electrical contracting business. Tyler was in the 3rd year of his electrical apprenticeship, and they desperately wanted to find him an o...pportunity to complete his time. We offered Tyler a trial, and it was immediately clear that he was a future star of the organization. Loyal, committed, and the kind of guy that everyone just wants to be around, he blended into our team perfectly from day 1. 4 years on, Tyler has completed his apprenticeship, setting himself up for a long-term career in renewables. He now heads up our service team in the field, taking great pride in keeping our clients happy well after their system has been installed. Tyler is also a great example of a Latrobe Valley success story. Career pathways for young electricians (and trades in general) are becoming more difficult in the valley in recent times, so we are thrilled to be able to provide opportunities for enthusiastic and driven young tradespeople in renewable energy. Tyler grabbed his opportunity with both hands, starting a family in the valley and becoming a respected leader in a growth industry. He will be a star within our ranks for a very long time, going on to nurture the next generation of Tylers along the way. Congrats Grassy and Tahlia. Hopefully a bit of sleep deprivation wont affect your commitment!
11.01.2022 Our team are fortunate to work in some amazing parts of the country, and this commercial project is no exception. We put the final touches on this 330kW system for Bonaccord-Ingram in the beautiful Lindenow Valley yesterday. This is now the largest system in East Gippsland (eclipsing the record we already held!) The Ingram family are one of the regions most respected farming families, starting from humble beginnings 60 years ago. With 4 of the Ingram sons now managing differe...nt areas of the business, and employing up to 300 staff over 3,000 acres, it is truly one of Gippslands most amazing success stories. This quality products in this installation will ensure long-term value for the client. Using premium SunPower Australia solar panels and Fronius Australia inverters, these products have proven themselves over many decades. Thanks to the Ingram family for supporting local jobs and investment. We look forward to many years of solar powered savings!
11.01.2022 Despite the challenging times we are faced with, our Gippsland Solar Community Fund continues to deliver projects of social benefit to the community. We have been working with Lochlin Wall and the team at Morwell Tennis Club, helping them to reduce their overheads with a 5kW solar power system. We chipped in $3,000 towards this system, helping Morwell Tennis Club proceed with a solar installation that was badly needed, but beyond their reach. ... Thanks also to the amazing people at Morwell Bowling Club, who also contributed towards this project. We installed a 100kW system for the bowling club many years ago, and they are a wonderful supporter of the local region. Our Community Fund receives a percentage of sales revenue (broken down by region) every year, so the more support we receive from the local community, the more we can contribute back into these initiatives. We have more bushfire recovery projects in East Gippsland to announce shortly. Thanks to the local community, for supporting local business and local jobs.
10.01.2022 Battery storage - not just for households! Weve seen a dramatic increase in battery installations in the last 12 months, with nearly 1 in 6 households installing a battery with their solar system in recent times. Even businesses are realizing the benefits of battery storage, which provide reliable electricity supply for critical equipment and machinery.... This 30kWh battery project in the Latrobe Valley is fed by a 60kW solar power system. We have installed the very latest in lithium battery storage technology, supplied by our friends at PowerPlus Energy. The system is controlled by a premium Fronius solar inverter, and a locally made Selectronic Australia battery inverter. Not only does it allow the client to use renewable energy after sunlight hours, but it provides blackout protection for this critical business operation. While the economic return on battery storage is still marginal, the benefits of reliable supply are becoming increasingly important. This client didnt have a suitable location for the battery system, so we built them a custom shed to house the equipment. A complex project, but we think our installers did a remarkable job. We love providing a client with energy savings and peace of mind for a long time into the future
10.01.2022 *VOTE and SHARE* for your favourite remote work station! We decided to run a competition amongst some of our team who are working from home. The brief was to show us your best remote work station or attire. As youll notice, best can also mean worst, or just the weirdest! Individual pictures are in the comments section.... Vote for your favourite in the comments below, and please share around your network: 1. Andy - Antarctic 2. Landon - Traveling Salesmen 3. Ryan - The Chicken 4. Tom - Bareback 5. Clay - Nature Lover 6. Jack - Fronius Welder 7. Peter/Marleen - The Racers 8. Vince - Zombie Apocalypse 9. Manny - The Temp 10. Mitch - Rooftop Life Voting closes this Friday at 4:30pm!
10.01.2022 Check out these friendly faces! If theres one thing our installers fear, its when we bring our marketing team out into the field and make them pose for photos. We had a fantastic day out at Camberwell Girls Grammar School, where we are currently delivering a 100kW system while the school is closed to students. The installers are repping their new RACV Solar co-branded work shirts, which we think look really sharp. ... The RACV partnership couldnt be off to a better start, and our clients love the alignment. Gippsland Solars reputation for customer service and technical excellence, combined with RACVs strong foundations and trusted reputation, is a powerful partnership that is already delivering amazing results. Spending time with our teams on the tools really drives home what a pleasure it is to work in the solar industry. These guys and girls are delivering sunshine every day, they all get along incredibly well, and enjoy pushing each other to keep raising the bar for our clients. Thank you to everyone who keeps supporting our business, and allowing us to keep these amazing humans employed. We deeply appreciate the support. A little bit of positive reflection during a challenging time. Have a great Easter everyone!
10.01.2022 Announcing our new Head of Service - Mitch Richardson! We are thrilled to announce that our solar guru Mitch will head up the newly beefed up Service division at Gippsland Solar and RACV Solar. With 5 years of history at Gippsland Solar, climbing the ranks from installer to sales consultant to Retail Manager for Gippsland, Mitch brings a perfect blend of skills and an outstanding commitment to this critical role. ... With our exponential growth over the last 5 years, we now have many thousands of systems in the field. To maintain and support these systems, and also rectify poorly delivered commercial systems by other companies, we have doubled down on our service and support department. We are also implementing Operations and Maintenance contracts for our commercial systems, completing periodic panel cleaning, system inspections, generation reports and more. Mitch is out and about on his first day in the new role, looking at a commercial job for one of our portfolio clients. This troublesome system was installed by another contractor before the client became aware of us, so we are putting a thorough report together, making some suggestions to bring the system up to standards, and implementing those improvements for the client. If you want to know that your solar company will be around in the long-term to support you, look at how much time, energy and financial commitment they put into their support division. Its a sure sign that they plan to be around in many years to come, and moving one of our brightest stars into this role is a strong statement that we are in this industry for the long haul. Welcome to the new role Mitch, youre a wonderful asset to our business.
09.01.2022 Are you working or studying from home? Your electricity usage could look like this. Working from home, remote learning for students, and the need for more heating and cooling during the day are all potentially impacting on electricity bills. Weve been doing some before and after analysis to measure the potential impact, and we are consistently seeing an increase of 60-80% in household usage.... These two graphs are from one of our employees homes. As you can see, these lifestyle changes have seen their usage MORE THAN DOUBLE compared to the last time last year. If youve been considering solar or battery storage, this could be a great time to make the move. Current state and federal incentives are extremely generous, potentially contributing up to half of the system cost. As a RACV-owned company, we can offer solar or battery storage packages with little or no upfront cost through our colleagues at RACV Finance, and you can simply use your savings to pay off the system. We can help you calculate how much your usage has increased by, and provide a solution to reduce the financial impact. And if youre concerned about over-investing in solar if your usage goes back to normal, we can secure a generous feed-in tariff (up to 16c per kWh) for your excess solar power. For a tailored assessment, contact our team today on 1300 447 765, or go to www.gippslandsolar.com.au.
09.01.2022 Solar (with no upfront cost) is the new black! Our install team are delivering this commercial installation for a brewery in Melbourne. This client wanted to install solar, but didnt want to outlay anything upfront. ... The answer? A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This system is installed at no upfront cost to the client. Rather than paying the system off, they simply pay for every kWh of electricity that the system generates. They will be paying far less (at least 30% less) than they were paying for grid electricity. The system is fully operated and maintained by us, and if the system doesnt generate electricity, they dont pay! These PPA options are becoming increasingly popular, providing the ultimate performance guarantee. By paying only for the solar that is generated, and backed by one of Australias largest solar providers, you can invest in solar with absolute confidence. With electricity bills at record highs, and interest rates at historic lows, many homes and businesses are using finance or a PPA. This means you can use your solar savings to pay off the system, and still be cashflow positive in most cases. To find out if a PPA or solar finance works for you, contact our team on 1300 447 765, or go to www.gippslandsolar.com.au.
09.01.2022 Given today is Earth Hour, we are delighted to show you the results of the solar installation and energy efficiency improvements at the RACV office in Noble Park. After a 600kW solar installation by our team, and a series of air conditioning and lighting upgrades, RACV Noble Parks usage has fallen by 43% compared to the same time two years ago! This reduction of around 4,200kWhs per day in summer is equivalent to the usage of over 200 homes. We are thrilled to have played ...a part in this amazing transformation, which is also happening across a number of RACVs resorts and clubs. Combined with a 100% renewable energy offtake with Red Energy in Victoria, RACV is a strong supporter of a clean and green future. As a wholly owned RACV company, we are very proud to partner with an organisation who lead by example. As one of the leading installers of solar and battery storage in Victoria, its important the we lead the way ourselves, and the results from Noble Park are very encouraging.
07.01.2022 Largest solar installation in Healesville now online! The stunning RACV Healesville Country Club is now powered by a 370kW solar array, with the Gippsland Solar delivering this system for our parent company RACV over the summer period. This solar installation is the latest in a rollout across the RACV property portfolio, with the Noble Park Call Centre (600kW), Torquay Resort (520kW), and Inverloch Resort (100kW) already ringing up the savings from their solar installations.... Our commercial team already had the record for the largest solar installation in Healesville, a 100kW system for our friends at Aurrum Aged Care. Looks like this new record will take some beating!
06.01.2022 This Wednesday, May 6, our CEO Andy will be presenting at the Smart Energy Councils Stimulus Summit. We will be presenting alongside state and federal ministers, and an impressive line-up of influential Australians, CEOs of leading Australian renewable energy businesses, and community and social change leaders. We will be discussing how investment in renewable energy projects on public buildings can stimulate the economic recovery, and help us to achieve our emissions targe...ts while creating thousands of new jobs along the way. The event will be free to attend, and there already over 3,000 registrations. Visit https://lnkd.in/gg6q58V to register and to download the program.
05.01.2022 One year ago today, we threw open the doors to our new East Gippsland showroom in Bairnsdale. It was a significant investment, but we were very confident that our approach to quality products and services would be warmly welcomed in East Gippsland. Well, things worked out even better than we couldve imagined. We have achieved nearly 200% growth in just 12 months, and employed a handful of local sales/admin staff and apprentices. ... Off the back of this growth, we have also been able to invest over $250k in-kind back into East Gippsland, through bushfire recovery work and other community projects. Its been a turbulent year for the region, with bushfires and COVID-19 having a devastating impact on East Gippsland. As we transition to RACV Solar, we look forward to investing heavily in the years ahead, and supporting the region that has supported us so strongly.
04.01.2022 We are thrilled to welcome Jess Christiansen to the RACV Solar team. Jess joins us as Head of Marketing and Communications, bringing a wealth of solar and energy industry experience with her. Jess has worked for a number of highly respected companies over her career, including solar manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, along with some pretty cool companies in the energy tech space. This breadth of experience across the entire supply chain and broader industry ensures Jes...s will be a tremendous asset to the RACV Solar team, steering our marketing as we set ourselves up for a period of sustained growth and success. In her spare time Jess competes in ultra marathons, for some strange reason she takes pleasure from running for hours on end. A lover of wildlife and the outdoors, Jess is driven by a desire to help drive down energy bills for consumers, while working hard to create a more sustainable planet for future generations. Im super excited to be working with Andy and the RACV Solar team! Ive been lucky enough to work for some amazing companies in the clean energy sector during my career, and when I was given the opportunity to join RACV Solar, the role felt like the perfect fit. RACV is such a trusted and established brand; I have huge respect for the organisations heritage and its unwavering commitment to members. I cant wait to get stuck into my role - help to expand RACVs solar offering and deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and RACV members alike.

Youll see more of our vehicles and showrooms taking on the new branding over the weeks ahead. The transition to RACV Solar couldnt be going any smoother, and the feedback from clients and RACV members has been overwhelmingly positive.... We will have some very exciting developments to share in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
03.01.2022 Gippsland Solar - now powered by RACV! You may have heard the news that Gippsland Solar is now a wholly owned subsidiary of RACV. This is great news for RACV members, and Gippsland Solar customers alike. We are working on some exciting innovations and benefits for our clients and RACV members, and we can also offer a solar installation at no upfront cost through our colleagues at RACV Finance.... Now as RACV Solar, we are able to offer you unparalleled peace of mind on your solar or battery investment. 02.01.2022 It was a bittersweet trip to bushfire-ravaged Mallacoota this week, catching up with our clients Kate and Phil. You may have seen their story in RACV@Home, a new online publication for RACV members. We installed a solar power system with battery storage for Kate and Phil last year. They want to be able to store their solar to use at night, but more importantly, they like the idea of being self-sufficient. In a town with regular grid outages, peace of mind was important to th...em. The devastating bushfires 6 months ago were the ultimate test for this system. Phil and Kate only just saved their home, and with the mains electricity down and Mallacoota plunged into darkness, their fairy lights were the only way they could locate their home while fighting the ember attack. For two full weeks, Phil and Kate were some of the few people in town with electricity. Being the amazing community-minded people they are, they threw their doors open, offering a solar-powered hot shower, a cuppa, and a shoulder to cry on. It was harrowing to hear their stories, but satisfying to know that their renewable energy system was able to provide so much comfort during the darkest of days. Their solar and battery system kept the lights on, even with a thick smoky sky badly affecting the solar performance. Small towns across East Gippsland and southern NSW have been through so much heartache, but the sense of community spirit is pulling them through. Its a long road ahead, and when life returns to normal after COVID-19, your support for these regional areas will be greatly appreciated.
01.01.2022 Thanks to the team at BFN Developments for choosing Gippsland Solar (now RACV Solar) to deliver this 100kW solar project at Homestyle Aged Care Services in Rowville. We have now delivered dozens of 100-300kW commercial installations on aged care facilities, and we are just about to announce another aged care contract along the eastern seaboard that will break a few records. With consistent electricity usage all day and across the year, the aged care sector is perfectly suite...d to capture the benefits of solar power. Its great to see commercial solar projects powering ahead during uncertain times. We look forward to stage 4 restrictions being lifted, so we can get our Melbourne teams back to work!
