09.01.2022 Being emotionally available to our children doesn’t mean we don’t set limits and boundaries (discipline is an essential part of being a parent). It means we ac...knowledge and make space for their feelings so they still feel visible to us in difficult moments. It means that you recognize that your child does not have the same capacity as an adult to regulate their emotions-this comes with time and repeated co-regulation from their caregiver. Holding these feelings for our children lets him know they are safe and will make space for vulnerability in their adult relationships.
