25.01.2022 So peaceful and grounding

25.01.2022 This is Jinxi, he may look like a cute fluffy Welshie but hiding under that gorgeous white exterior is a Reiki Master. He is incredibly present during our Khayala-mi sessions with clients and takes his job very seriously. He he’d just been ‘encouraging’ this client to uncross her feet!! If you’d like more information drop me a message.

24.01.2022 Hey Everyone, Tim and I have made the decision to close our facility until further notice. I have also cancelled my face-to-face clients. Having people coming into the property and sharing facilities, probably isnt the smartest move at the moment, for anyone involved, especially if this thing doesnt slow down, and there were too many unknowns with regards to cross-contamination to make it truly safe with such a highly contagious virus. ... Ill keep you informed of any changes. If you need support via Skype or FaceTime I am here for you. Im going to do some calming lives and some fun pony time, so stay tuned. #alonenotalone Love & Light to you all, stay safe and well and I hope we all come out the other side in one piece/peace. Larissa

24.01.2022 We’ve been giving the dairy a bit of a makeover during ISO. Bit of a long process and slowed down a bit now with Tim heading back to work, but that’s ok ticking... along. So we head to Melbourne yesterday to look at Sofas, as I was a bit wary about buying sight unseen online. I headed off with a very clear idea of the style I wanted and first stop was Plush Sofas in Dandenong. Oh my goodness, I think it was love at first sight, and totally not the couch I went in there to look at Meet the Zephyr!! It has a moveable back so you can have a more upright seat, or roll it back for a gorgeous luscious space to curl up on. And that leather is so soft you just sink into it like a cloud Only down side is it’s 10-12 weeks away

23.01.2022 Here’s an interesting article on brain functions. I’ve added my take on it below, as it’s pretty heavy but very interesting if you have the time to read it. The effects of complex trauma on the brain are often left sitting in the unconscious realms of our brain until we come into ‘contact’ and those old behaviour patterns, most likely developed for our own survival, kick in. ... In kids we see ADHD, ODD, inability to control their emotions, lack of trust, etc. Much like the horse that’s been ‘fried’ or abused. In treating young children with a history of trauma the challenge of often that they are too young to have the cognitive ability to consciously reflect on the cause of the trauma and how they can shift from that to a new way of being. Much like working with a horse you can’t ‘talk through it’. So we employ experiential learning, building new behaviour patterns, play, presence, relationship and a safe base from which to explore their new world. Sometimes for very young children just learning how to play again can be healing. Much like working with a horse it’s about creating new experiences and truly seeing and listening to them that heals. In saying that, the mirroring activity, helps fire the mirroring neurons, which are what happens between a mother and baby when she mirrors the baby, and produces oxytocin!! Like the in the movie Avatar ‘I see you’

23.01.2022 Introducing Noora Ehnqvist. Noora did a clinic here back in January and it was absolutely life changing!! Her philosophy of embodied awareness will definitely help with riding, relationship with your horse and your own wellbeing. On top of that shes such a beautiful person I highly recommend you check out her new online program.

22.01.2022 Not sure if this has already happened but hey, sharing is caring

22.01.2022 Trust me I know all about horse injuries, this kit seems pretty good although there are possibly a few cheaper alternatives. What cant you do without in your equine first aid kit??

22.01.2022 Oh this is brilliant!!

22.01.2022 This is my gorgeous boy Tyson - he is a super special boy and love him to bits. So handsome <3

22.01.2022 Have you heard of the KISS principle? Keep it Simple And Straightforward. Let go of your expectations and KISS, perfect

21.01.2022 Please SIGN and SHARE so we can stop the inhumane slaughter of Brumbies and start a discussion about a more humane way to manage their presence in National Parks

20.01.2022 Help us Help you So how’s everyone going with all this COVID business. Numbers are dropping and as far as world wide control goes we are kicking goals!! Getting back to normal we’ve got a dilemma... ... We’ve been waiting for the go ahead to reopen. Unfortunately, in the mean time, our insurance costs have continued to increase as underwriters for Equine cover decrease. Supply and demand or collusion , but that’s a whole ‘nother discussion. The whole reason we built this facility was to provide Equine Assisted Learning & Psychotherapy, and now that I’ve finished my further studies that’s becoming a reality. In the past my EAL work and the facilities we offer here have all been covered under the one policy. Now that I’m able to access professional indemnity through my association, it’s a huge saving. This leaves the Equine Facilities only side under seperate insurance, for which the rates have more than doubled. So my question is, who is out there wanting to use the arena? Speak now or forever hold your peace So let us know by commenting with the corresponding number below... 1. I’m keen to use the arena on a regular basis 2. I’m keen to use the arena occasionally 3. I’m keen to participate in organised activities as they arise 4. I’m not an arena rider Then let us know if you’ve picked 1, 2, 3 or 4 Then.... I D E A S . F O R. T H E. F U T U R E A. Guest coaches - were unable to lock in regular coaches at this stage. B. Coffee, cake and Cavalletti mornings C. Obstacle days D. 3 for Free - group rate discounts E. Memberships!! So pop your comment below with your arena preference (1, 2, 3 or 4) , and/or your selected ideas for the future (select as many as you like) A, B, C, D, E or any other suggestions you’d like to include.

19.01.2022 Local * Handmade * Natural - - - So our little studio is coming along nicely. I made the decision to get back to making rugs but needed a space that wasnt freezing in winter and like a sauna in summer. I also want to have more fun with it and be more creative. So this space will certainly inspire me to do that. Well also be making it available as a workshop/crafting/classroom space for clients and local groups. ... When we started laying the laminate flooring we quickly realised that it would most likely get trashed in the doorway. With limited options because of COVID restrictions we headed to the local Beaumonts store to see what they had in the bargain bin. I nearly missed them but the very friendly lady at the store pointed out these lovely terrazzo tiles with all the colours we already had in the room. Thinking on the fly I was inspired by @sarahrichardsondesign to blend the tiles I found on special with some leftover grey Marquina tiles I had leftover from the wood heater pad to create a last minute tiled entry, nicely tying the two together. Think it came up well. #handmade #buylocalgippsland #visitsouthgippsland #equineapparel #getcrafty #genesisequestrianaus #genesisequestrian @ Gippsland Equine

18.01.2022 A very interesting look at the links between your state of mind and COVID-19. https://www.choprafoundation.org/integrative-interventions/

18.01.2022 Well I have to say the best advice I got was from my then 16 year old son as I headed off to do my first dressage test for some time (like years) on a very cheeky and somewhat temperamental Ruby. Well mum, if you can get through it without falling of youve done well Set the bar low people, set the bar lowwwww

17.01.2022 Ive got some cute activities, some I developed years ago at PV for probably late primary aged kids. Ive also got a workbook I did for kids a while back that Im happy to share. Im going to get some videos of my horses interacting and you can use those to observe and notice :) or you can substitute horses for dogs, cats or mothers ;) Happy to share to give the kids something to do. ... Just send your Name and email via the Messenger button, theyre too big to send otherwise, and you will need to print out at your end.

17.01.2022 With so much training, ongoing supervision & professional development requirements Counsellors & Psychotherapist are yet to receive the recognition they deserve. As a qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist I was gobsmacked when the Victorian Government recently announced the idea of training up Mental Health Coaches to help address the current crisis in mental health with absolutely no mention of Counsellors or Psychotherapists. -... Martin Foley, Victorian Mental Health Minister recently announced $59.7 million Funding to ease the pressure of first responders. Of this a mere $250,000 was allocated to counselling for nurses, midwives and personal care workers at the coal face. This follows a federal package giving people in COVID hit areas an additional 10 Medicare subsidised therapy sessions. Sessions that they will likely struggle to access with an overwhelmed mental health system. Beyond Blue is now calling for a Nation Wide roll out of FREE Mental Health Coaches to help Aussies cope with the increasing challenges. Australians need access to affordable, accessible Mental Health Services. We need Mental Health Support on the ground NOW!! Counsellors registered with PACFA or ACA cannot access the Medicare Rebates for clients because they are not included in the current Schedule. Psychologists and Social Workers are. So, my question is this, why roll out a program of training and delivering FREE Mental Health Coaches when we already have thousands of Counsellors and Psychotherapists ready to go. 15.01.2022 Nailed it, couldnt of said it better myself!!

14.01.2022 Pictured: My gorgeous girls, I call them my Wise Women; Cymi (RIP), Shayanna, Ella, Blacki, Ruby - Mares arent always well liked and for the same reasons strong women arent. ... Opinionated? Those opinions are not without good cause and maybe you cant figure them out or maybe you just dont like her opinion of you. Change it and she will always be on your side. Stubborn? She just wont let you bulldoze her. Treat her with respect and her resilience will be an asset to you. Difficult? You just cant handle her. You dont have what it takes. Stick with geldings then, and leave the mare for someone who understands her and appreciates the same qualities society has subtlety taught you not to like. Heres to mares, to strong women, and to those who CAN and DO appreciate them! ~ The Evolving Equestrian

14.01.2022 Awareness gives us choice, with choice comes freedom The challenge is to step back, away from your thoughts, away from your stuff..... let the surface settle and then see what is being reflected back at you.

08.01.2022 Seeing whats out there for a good client - looking for a TOP QUALITY hack or possibly hunter, newcomer for next year would be good but not a must, but it MUST ...be a big mover - a seriously big mover and pretty. Mare or gelding. Pref TB but will consider arabian derivative or WB if TB type. MUST be sane and safe, NO rubbish under saddle. Basic education is fine. No windsuckers or bad travellers. Tall order but client is very specific, sadly she has been burnt badly in the past so will require vet checks and bloods. Thankyou everyone. x See more

06.01.2022 I wonder, given that every single whisker is connected to an individual part of the brain, if it hurts when you trim them

06.01.2022 #MirbooNorth Vic Hello, my name is Mel. My daughter Lilly & I run a beautiful small business called Harriet Herbery, which we purchased late last year. https:/.../m.facebook.com/harrietherbery/ We sell ethically sourced/produced pure essential oils, essential oil synergy blends, herbs, teas & essential oil products. All of our products are organic or wildcrafted wherever possible. We have recently moved into a small shop in Mirboo North, but are still predominantly an online store. I have a passion for how essential oils can work with us emotionally, energetically & spiritually. I also love to share this passion with all who are interested. It is still a work in progress as we update the website & make it ours, but we would love for you all to have a look. See more

01.01.2022 Well the laminate floor is finally done!! Tim and I took this afternoon off. I think a week of crawling around on our knees had taken its toll and we were both pooped. I finished off the grouting this morning and then I fell asleep on the couch while he pottered in his flash new workshop!! Laminate flooring is not as easy as it looks. Did you know there are two types? Dropnclick and Angle-Angle. Well we picked the Angle-Angle which is the fiddlier of the two and it just ab...out did our heads in. I threw down tools and stormed off day one. After scrounging through YouTube for what seemed like forever I finally found someone that gave a decent description of how to lay them. Dont buy Angle-Angle laminate flooring :o Tomorrow the trims and a bit of touch up painting, landscaping, more painting....arrrgh just when you think youre almost done. We are very close though. <3 Capeview Mitre 10 Beaumont Tiles Wonthaggi Bunnings Fritz Mckenzie Tim Dykes Temple and Webster Genesis Equestrian
