25.01.2022 Paul and I were lucky enough to be invited to tell the story of beef and lamb production at the Taste of Melbourne collaboration at Matilda 59 Domain with chefs Scott Picket and Andrew Walsh. The food was incredible thanks Scott Pickett - @scottpickettchef and Andrew Walsh - @ a.a.walsh. With our high quality Australian products you created incredible food with a taste of Asia. We loved the flavours. Great to share the work our industry is doing through the Australian Beef S...ustainability framework and Good Meat. @tasteofmelbourne. #TasteDiningExperiences #Matilda159Domain - Matilda159 Cure - @ cure_singapore Photographer - @parkerblain #sofiaklevin Thanks to the organisers and partners Diners Club - @dinersclub Australian Good Meat (MLA) - @ausgoodmeat Tanqueray gin - @tanquerayginau Sapporo beer - Sapporo Australia NZ#australianbeefsustainabilityframework

23.01.2022 Great to be part of this industry- We have achieved a great deal and still striving to improve sustainability of farms and industry.

23.01.2022 Excited to be involved in this wonderful project. #farminginachangingclimate

23.01.2022 Great to have Simone Smith out from ABC Rural to discuss what we do with Food Adventures and how we strive to communicate about the love, passion and science that underpins our red meat farming system. Listen in the next couple of mornings for the story. #abggippsland #abcrural #destinationgippsland

22.01.2022 Great collaboration happening both in Australia and around the world with livestock and moving towards sustainable , equitable systems to meet the food needs of people now and in the future. http://www.livestockdialogue.org/about-/about-the-agenda// https://youtu.be/3NmL8DjMOXQ

22.01.2022 Fascinating morning with Peter Ronalds and the team from Growing Southern Gippsland Project at Malabar Farm with@basscoastlandcarenetwork. Amazing to see the soil to a metre depth. #landcarefarming

22.01.2022 We are closed with Covid restrictions in place and will stay closed until it is safe for us to mix again. We are happy to do any on-line activities speaking with students about beef and sheep farming if interested. These are our cows due to start calving in early September. Enjoying some hay for a snack. We dont buy any outside feed onto the farm. We grow grass, and in the spring conserve excess feed to feed back to the cows in autumn and winter when we have less grass and the animals can damage the wet paddocks with their hooves. Stay safe everyone.

22.01.2022 The team and Malabar Farm. We both love agriculture and livestock. The welfare and care of the animals as well of that of the land is our top priority.

21.01.2022 We had a real treat yesterday, being invited to the launch of Pennicott Wilsons Promontory Cruises. The boats are amazing, and so good to see the beautiful Prom from the sea. Loved the seals, dolphins, Islands and Skull rock. They are employing lots of locals- who should be guiding our boat but Justin Edgelow! Id highly recommend this trip. Heads off from Tidal River. Daily departures from next week and then three cruises a day from Nov 1. @pennicottjourneys #destinationgippsland # thanks

20.01.2022 It has been a lovely week having special German visitors come to visit the farm and discover South Gippsland. We really do live in the most beautiful part of the world. #destinationgippsland

20.01.2022 Love what we do. Good meat doesnt just happen.

19.01.2022 Great video about the Gippsland Dairy industry.

19.01.2022 Shearing in full swing at Malabar Farm. The ewes are pleased to get their wool off in this hot humid weather. #happysheep

18.01.2022 Benita Kelsall from Ag Victoria helping us assess water capacity of farm. Water use is so critical for sustainable land use and animal production. This dam is 4 metres deep.

17.01.2022 Worth noting the Prom is closed from tonight. Stay safe everyone.

17.01.2022 We calf napped the brightest of my poddy calves to connect to a cow that gave birth to a still born calf this morning. Looking very promising. No kicking and lots of sniffing once out of crush. Fingers crossed. #calfadventures

15.01.2022 This is worth doing. A great local adventure

14.01.2022 An interesting article on Red Meat Consumption https://www.mla.com.au//The-truth-on-red-meat-consumption/

14.01.2022 This is the 2018 direct seeding progress. As it was a very wet winter I couldnt spread the seed until September, so this shows 1 year and 5 months growth. I love the tea tree and scrubs, great to stop the winters winds. It will make a big difference for our livestock in both winter and summer. #landcarefarming #directseeding #sustainableag #neverstopimproving

13.01.2022 Lovely to show Peter Jago and Hilda and John Simonds around Malabar Farm before their big day judging fashion on the fields at Stony Creek Cup. We loved Dean and Jesss visit as well. Great people, great location.

12.01.2022 We've got the best office in the world! Love the aerial shots here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySALmoxhQtw

11.01.2022 Great to be part of the Sustainability session at Red Meat 2019 in Tamworth last week. Great story thanks #shangoodwinbeef https://www.farmweekly.com.au//the-facts-every-cattle-pro/

11.01.2022 Direct seeding - a video. We are continually trying to create shade and shelter for our livestock, and create links between existing vegetation for our wildlife. An ongoing process to improve the land and improve the environment for everyones pleasure ( human, animals, reptiles and insects). https://vimeo.com/332354714

11.01.2022 An article written for australian butchers. We love out animals. https://www.mla.com.au//animal-welfare-the-key-to-high-q/

11.01.2022 Here is one of our lambs having a food adventure- trialling cows milk. Phil took this photo driving down the road, the lamb wasnt supposed to be in this paddock. Decided to sneak a feed from a friendly cow! #foodadventures # cheekylamb

09.01.2022 Big couple of days on the farm. We scanned all the ewes to see if pregnant yesterday and if they have one, two or three lambs. Today we then divided them up into mobs to ensure we feed them adequately to suit their feed demands. These are the twinning eees being let out. #scanningewes

08.01.2022 Weve have done some direct seeding in 2017 to create shade and shelter in new paddocks we have created when we changed fence positions. These photos are taken 2 and a half years apart. The area was sown in August 2017 using seed from the South Gippsland Seedbank. We are thrilled with the result in the low lying areas on the farm. The drier areas were not as successful and in those areas I have had to follow up with tube stock and will be quite a time before I get as good a result as this. #sgln #landcare #directseeding

04.01.2022 Who wants to learn more about wine? Book in for this great course- wonderful to have it run locally.

04.01.2022 What a great idea for a birthday present! A farm tour and exploration of the Australian beef and lamb industry. Had a special day Sunday with Jodie and Greg showing them how we farm and sharing our story. Loved hearing their story as well in farming in the region. I love the connections we can make around food and sustainable farming.

03.01.2022 Weve got the best office in the world! Love the aerial shots here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySALmoxhQtw

02.01.2022 Great to have the Australian Good Meatteam to video our farm and hear our sustainable agriculture story. Thanks Georgia Goode, great working with you #australiangoodmeat #mla #sustainableagriculture #mla

02.01.2022 Great program about what the industry is doing to report on its footprint. The Australian Beef sustainability Framework is worth reading if you are interested in red meat production. https://www.abc.net.au//the-scorecard:-annual-sc/12884562

02.01.2022 How amazing is this footage. These tours are a great new experience available to those visiting the region. Well worth booking in next time you are heading to the Prom.

01.01.2022 New lambs coming everywhere- perfect weather for it today. We scan our ewes and put them in mobs of those having triplets, twins and singles. - this is our triplet mob. We had 85 ewes having triplets. These two mums are doing well. Big job when you only have two teats! I love this time of the year.

01.01.2022 Happy world milk day everyone. Thanks to all the dairy farmers.
