22.01.2022 Who would you rather listen to your inner critic or your inner nurturer? Read our latest blog post all about these nasty, pesky and downright mean voices and how we help children deal with them in the Critical Critter workshops we run in schools. https://www.wildwiseandworthy.com.au//critical-critters-th
16.01.2022 The Women's Hearth is where my (Karen's) journey into women's work all started for me. I have sat in circles with Penny and Anne-Marie for many years and every time, it is a rich, nourishing and joyful adventure. I also made my drum with them two years ago. So I highly recommend this drum-making retreat with all my heart. You don't just come away with a drum, you come away knowing yourself in a new way, you come away with renewed will and you come away with a deeper connection to the other women you have drum journeyed with. Only three spots left, I believe! Oh, and in Margaret River, why wouldn't you!! https://www.facebook.com/events/924592988352500/
15.01.2022 The girl's arrive unsure what to expect, some are excited, some are nervous, some came with a friend, some know noone at all. There is chatter and little bit of awkwardness to start with but it soon dissipates once we gather in circle and soon they begin to shine. In Saturdays workshop we explored the themes of body sovereignty, boundaries, consent, what it means to have positive body image and caring for not only our physical body but our emotional and mental well-being asw...ell. We had alot of fun getting to know each other, playing games, having a tea-party and creating a goddess out of clay all the while learning how to become the ruler of her Queendom. We will be running 'Ruler of her Queendom' for girls aged 10 - 12 on Saturday 1st of May. The link to this event is in the comments below.
08.01.2022 Our next workshop is only a couple of weeks away. We created this workshop because many women of our generation were left with such minimal information around our periods and what we were fed gave us the perspective that our menstrual cycle was a burden, something to be endured and sometimes suffer through. And yet it is a powerful inner compass to utilise through everyday of our lives - a gift. And we want to share that with our girls and help strengthen the bond with their mothers/carers so they can share the journey together.
07.01.2022 Ain’t this the truth! Have you ever tried to rationalise your feelings away, or just pop them to the side, trudge forward on your path because you're attached to an idea of how things should go. Perhaps it feels easier to deny your feelings because if you honour them, then choose a different action the repercussions could upset another. Each time we do this we are slowly destroying ourselves. We become a shell of ourselves and illness and disease may manifest. When we list...en to what our body is communicating to us, we learn to trust ourselves, our confidence and self-worth grows from this place. We feel safe knowing we have our own backs this is self-love. We have two workshops coming up that guide girls ‘in’ so they can learn what it’s like to listen intently to their own inner compass. ‘Ruler of her Queendom’ explores body sovereignty, boundaries, consent, image and self-care. ‘Growing Bodies & Cycle Wisdom’ (for Mothers and Daughters) teaches the girls how to harness the power of their menstrual cycle as a tool to tune into, allowing it to guide them. If you would like to know more about these workshops here are the links. 06.01.2022 As this woman describes in this video, we have often been encouraged by our parents to be polite by dishonoring our own wants and needs to appease another, usually a family member. By the time we become teenagers this is a learnt behaviour, a default way of being. In this Saturdays workshop we give the girls opportunities through games and activities to experience tuning in to their own inner compass. They get to express where their boundaries are at and practice using their voices. The link for the workshop is in the comments.
06.01.2022 1 spot left for tomorrow's workshop for girls aged 9 to 11. We explore the themes of healthy body image, body sovereignty, boundaries, consent and self-care. Click here to register... https://fb.me/e/23af2KyXg
02.01.2022 The ability to tune in to our intuition, to aquire knowledge from the unconscious mind is woven throughout all our workshops. A powerful tool in navigating all aspects of life.
