24.01.2022 I have been living in Fiji for 7 months now. It has been a fantastic, hard, frustrating, enjoyable and soul searching experience. I have see the best of Fiji - most of the time - and unfortunately the worst of Fiji. Throughout this time I have relied heavily on my amazing support staff. Without them, don't think I would have lasted this long. I want to thank Chocolate (Chocky), Xena (The Gentle Giant), Zoey. (The Little Rascal) and Miley (The Princess') - I couldn't have done it without you!

23.01.2022 We started the conversion of the container to the reception/office today. Goal is complete by the end of the week. Wish me luck.

23.01.2022 Full moon in Taveuni Fiji tonight. Glad to see the Man on the Moon is self isolating.

22.01.2022 Back breaking work at Girls Own Safari today. As we wait, wait and wait (Fiji Time) for building approvals for stage 2 construction,we decided to clear proposed building sites. We dug out grass sods and relocated to the sports arena with the best view anywhere. And NO, Richard Mason, we can't just phone up the local garden centre and order a truck load of grass sods.

20.01.2022 Struggling to get people to work a honest day here at the moment. More surprising as all resorts are shut and many people are now unemployed. Still, I am trying to get an in-ground spa build with out much luck. Thanks to YouTube, I am giving it a go. I will keep you updated.

12.01.2022 Rough night last night as the cyclone passed by. Dogs were not going to sleep anywhere else. Hight winds had them rattled.

11.01.2022 First 7m diameter dome is approved. Leveling the site completed this evening. Once completed I should be able to move out of the shed.

10.01.2022 Tough day at Girls Own Safari. With Nurse Jamie, my beautiful daughter Jamie Burton returning to Australia yesterday, I have just had must first full day on my own. I had to make my own bed, get my breakfast, wash up, clean the kitchen, play with the dogs, cuddle the cats, change the wound dressing, spray the mosquitos and start the generator. Miss you Nurse Jamie.

07.01.2022 Tears at Girls Own Safari this morning. My beautiful daughter, Jamie Burton, is returning to Australia. I am really going to miss her. After suffering a major hand injury just after her arrival, she became Nurse Jamie. She was extremely supportive. Thanks Jamie!

06.01.2022 We are thinking about our Australian friends suffering through the devastating bush fires. Be safe. A special mention to the magnificent wildlife. According to the BBC over half a billion animals have died in the current bush fires. Australia governments over the last 20 years should now their heads in shame

05.01.2022 A local paid us a visit today. She was just making sure we are on track.

03.01.2022 Jamie Burton experienced the beautiful waterfalls today. It was hot and the walk did take it out of her. Worth it at the end

03.01.2022 Honouring the ANZAC's, past and present, from Taveuni Fiji. LEST WE FORGET. For our international friends, ANZAC Day, is a very special day for Australia and New Zealand. It is a day that both countries honour and thank the men and women who have and are currently serving in the military for their service.
