17.01.2022 Dear Girls Rock! Canberra community, Due to current circumstances, we have made the tough decision to cancel our upcoming Girls Rock Camp 2020. It sucks (and we’re really, really sad), but it also takes at least 9 months to organise camp, and all this uncertainty makes the program impossible to run this year. We appreciate all the support we’ve had so far this year - special thanks to Smokey Horse, UC Hub, HellosQuare recordings, NFSA - National Film and Sound Archive of Aust...ralia and Groovin the Moo for partnering with us to hold some really fun events earlier this year, and help us raise money for camper scholarships. We will save the money raised for scholarships for our 2021 Girls Rock Camp. A big thank you to artsACT and Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres for continuing to support our programs and our organisation. Our Girls Rock Camp will be back next year, and we are currently busy scheming some other programming for this year Stay tuned! We are lucky to have artsACT Program Funding this year, which will let us trial some new ways of connecting with our community. If you’re interested in collaborating or chatting with us, we’d love to hear from you! We hope you’re all keeping well and safe, and we can’t wait to gather together at camp or a gig when all this is over. -Chiara and Phoebe Director and Coordinator

09.01.2022 Always was. Always will be. This week we take time to acknowledge and celebrate the traditional owners of the land we live on, including the Ngunnawal people. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years and we have so much to learn from their intimate knowledge of Country. We have so much to learn from the oldest continuing cultures on earth, if we open our hearts and minds. However, this doesn’t end with the ...end of NAIDOC week, this should be front of our minds all year round, as we work to be better listeners and better learners. Sovereignty was never ceded. This beautiful image is the 2020 NAIDOC poster, designed by Tyrown Waigana, a Noongar and Saibai Islander man. #NAIDOC2020 National NAIDOC
