Just so you know - the groceries you paid for are being prepared as we speak to make delicious meals for our elderly clients' dinner tonight. 06.01.2022 Our NAIDOC week virtual celebrations/challenges took a backseat last week as our organisation/staff were dealing with sorry business for the week. We apologise for not sticking with the challenges/videos - but our main priority in these times is supporting our mob. We will look into re-hosting these challenges if we have time before we break for Christmas - as you all know this is a crazy time of year and we are chasing our tails a bit - but we will do our best. 03.01.2022 Today is National Close the Gap Day. Whilst some important work has been done, and continues to be done, to improve the vastly different lived experiences of Indigenous people in this country compared to other demographics - there is still a long way to go. We need our governments to recognise this and invest in programs to help Indigenous organisations like Girudala take the lead in addressing these gaps. You can help by signing the pledge (link below) to put a call out to all governments to hear our concerns, take them seriously, and value our lives enough to make changes.
