25.01.2022 Good morning to our Macedon Ranges community on this glorious spring Wednesday. Great news that we move to step 3 in the Victorian Government's re-opening roadmap tomorrow so with the lovely weather we can also start to reconnect socially with this wonderful community in which we live and start to give back to the awesome local businesses who have supported us during lockdown over the last six months. The Gisborne Foodbank is open today and Friday from 10am to 3pm so please d...rop in or give us a call on our mobile # 0492 850 520 if you or anyone you know needs assistance putting food on the table this week. If you're out shopping over the next few days and would like to donate to the Gisborne Foodbank, we are short of the following items this week: UHT full cream milk, oil, chunky soup, sweet biscuits, cracker biscuits (ritz, sakatas, shapes etc), coffee, milo, kids snacks, jam, shampoo, conditioner, men's deodorant. Many schools are having a bit of a break from online learning each week to encourage students to look after their wellbeing. Massive thanks to Aston and Edi Gauci who used their 'wellbeing Wednesday' last week to make these wonderful gift bags for our foodbank customers, to cheer them up during these challenging times. What a wonderful way to put a smile on the faces of those that need cheering up the most. Have a great day everyone x
24.01.2022 Riddell community Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House We have had a number of queries over the last couple of weeks about whether or not people can donate to the Gisborne Foodbank using their credit card, and now we can say....... ABSOLUTELY, YES, YOU CAN DONATE USING A CREDIT CARD. We have set up a new donation page at https://gisborne-community-care-foodbank.raisely.com/ to enable credit card donations.... You can make a one-time donation and we also have the facility for people to make monthly, or yearly donations. For those who prefer to donate cash in person at the Foodbank, or transfer money to our bank account, we are so very grateful to also accept these donations as well (just email us at [email protected] if you would like our bank account details). We would not be able to continue to help those in need without the support of our wonderful Macedon Ranges community. So we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts.
24.01.2022 We have been so very fortunate this year, to have Barb Davis, our wonderful Community Chaplain, spend time each week at the Gisborne Foodbank, assisting those in need by providing physical and emotional support, connection and referral to services as needed to help them get back on their feet. The Gisborne Secondary College Chaplaincy Fundraising Committee who organise fundraising activities to raise money so that Barb can continue to service our community as Chaplain, have b...een unable to hold any events for the last 8 months due to the COVID-19 restrictions. So they need our help! The committee are doing a sausage sizzle to raise funds for Barb's position, at Bunnings in Sunbury on Saturday, 12 December and need some helpers. There are 3 shifts available: 8.30-11.00, 11.00-1.30 and 1.30-4.00 (5 helpers are needed for each shift). The jobs are: BBQ captain, greeter, order, cook and collect. If you have a couple of hours free to help could you please make contact with Bronwyn Tacey on 0417 028 605. Hopefully, now that COVID-19 restrictions are easing, this wonderful fundraising commitee can get back to what it does best, raising money to ensure that those in need in our community get the support that they need from our awesome Community Chaplain, Barb x

Thank you to Coles Gisborne who raised $290 for the Gisborne Foodbank from their Easter raffle. It was great to meet Nonie when she dropped off the Coles giftcard.... And on the subject of Easter raffles, St. Paul's Op Shop also ran an Easter raffle and donated $154 to the Foodbank. Awesome! Thank you! Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets. A special thank you this week to the lovely local (who wishes to remain anonymous) who donated $200 in Coles gift vouchers to the Foodbank. You know who you are and we are so very grateful for your donation x We are so lucky to live in such a generous community. Have a great week everyone x
24.01.2022 Good morning to everyone in our Macedon Ranges community on this absolutely glorious Wednesday! There's nothing like a bit of sunshine to lift the spirits! The Gisborne Foodbank is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 3pm so please drop in or give us a call on our mobile # 0492 850 520 if you or anyone you know needs assistance putting food on the table this week. I wanted to post these final photos from the 'Cubby House for Christmas' raffle held late last year, the G...isborne Men's Shed raising $6,855 for the Gisborne Foodbank. The cubby is now installed at the home of the awesome Draper family and as you can see from the second photo, three year old Korra has claimed it as her own :-) Thanks so much for the photos Gabrielle x
23.01.2022 Only a couple of days left before the big raffle draw for the Gisborne Men's Shed's incredible cubby house. The winner will be drawn this Friday 18 Dec at 4pm at the Gisborne Men's Shed. There's still time to purchase your raffle tickets at https://a-cubby-house-for-christmas.raisely.com/. I want to acknowledge how hard the Gisborne Men's Shed Shedmen have been working on their 'Cubby House for Christmas' campaign. They not only built this fantastic cubby house, but they have... been out in Gisborne every weekend for the last month, encouraging people to buy raffle tickets, and talking about the Gisborne Men's Shed and the great work that they do, ensuring that the men in our community have a place to connect. And, at the same time, they have raised over $6,000 for the Gisborne Foodbank! We are beyond grateful for their support x Thank you also to the GREAT Association who publish the GREAT Gisborne Gazette for their support of the Gisborne Men's Shed and the Gisborne Foodbank. I have included photos of each day that the cubby house has been 'on tour' in Gisborne over the last month and the amazing men who give so much to our Macedon Ranges community!
23.01.2022 A massive thank you to the students, families and staff at Gisborne Primary School for your continuing support of the Gisborne Foodbank since we opened last year. Your Christmas food drive has again produced a massive amount of food donations to help those in need in our community and provided some awesome Christmas treats! Our wonderful volunteer Wally wasn't able to collect the Gisborne PS haul last week, but he was there in spirit, sending his lovely wife Cheryl and even letting her borrow his ute. Thanks Wally, get well soon x

Thanks Lara! We are so happy that you are part of the Gisborne Foodbank family, helping those in need in our community x Have a great day everyone x
22.01.2022 Big thanks to Joe from TD Automotive Services in New Gisborne for your generous support of the Gisborne Foodbank over the last few months. The Gisborne Foodbank is open today and Friday from 10am to 3pm so please drop in or give us a call on our mobile # 0492 850 520 if you or anyone you know needs assistance putting food on the table this week. We would like to send out a massive thank you to Jack and Zoe Trinh, owners of Trinh's Kitchen in Gisborne. They recently donated $1,000 cash to the Foodbank, and they are supplying us with prepared meals on a fortnightly basis. Jack told us that they really want to give back to the community who were so supportive of their restaurant when they opened 2 years ago in Gisborne. So please support this amazing local family and pop down to Trinh's Kitchen for a Banh Mi or a bowl of Pho (my personal favourites) and know that you'll be supporting the Gisborne Foodbank at the same time. Thanks Jack & Zoe (and our best wishes for the arrival of your new baby, hopefully very soon)! http://trinhskitchen.com.au/
16.01.2022 Thank you so much to Josh, Tamsyn and all the team from Josh's Rainbow Eggs for supporting the Gisborne Foodbank (and lots of other Foodbanks) this year. We just have to make a call to them, and they ensure that we have fresh eggs for our customers, every week! And on top of that, they donated 60 dozen eggs to go out with our Christmas hampers. Absolutely awesome! We hope you get a chance to have a break over the Christmas period, but I guess your beautiful hens don't take a break from laying awesome eggs, so it will be business as usual for you all. Thank you again for all you do for the Gisborne Foodbank x

15.01.2022 Happy Wednesday to all of our awesome Macedon Ranges community. The Gisborne Foodbank is open today and Friday from 10am to 3pm so please drop in or give us a call on our mobile # 0492 850 520 if you or anyone you know needs assistance putting food on the table this week. If you're out shopping over the next few days and would like to donate to the Gisborne Foodbank, we are short of the following items this week: jam, kid's snacks, tinned spaghetti, tinned fruit, cracker biscu...its (savoy, sakatas, shapes etc), coffee, breakfast cereal (not Weetbix), shampoo/conditioner, sanitary pads, razors, dishwashing liquid. We were very thankful to receive a $200 donation last week with an interesting backstory that we wanted to share with our community. One of our local residents recently had their letterbox damaged by three young men, with the CCTV footage released by Police on social media. The young men, took responsibility for their actions and compensated the resident for the damage. For the resident, it was not about the money, but more about the young men showing genuine remorse for their actions. So, he very kindly decided to match the money he received from the young men, and made a donation to the Gisborne Foodbank. It just goes to show that every cloud has a silver lining and it's nice to be able to share another positive story during a time when many of us are finding things very challenging due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Please don't feel embarrassed to ask us for help. That's what we are here for. Have a great day everyone x
14.01.2022 It was great to meet Bianca and Kieran (& Bianca's Mum Maria) at the Little plates van down in Gisborne just now. Thank you so much for continuing to support the Gisborne Foodbank with prepared meals for our customers. We really appreciate it! So get down to Gisborne now (they are next to the NAB in Brantome St) as their food looks AMAZING! I can't wait to eat the arancini, focaccia & cannoli that I couldn't resist buying.

The Gisborne Men's Shed cubby house is nearing completion and it looks FANTASTIC! I have included some progress photos. We would like to send out a massive thank you to 14 year old Piper Spaltman, an extraordinary young woman who has been making and selling masks over the last few weeks, and last week donated $1000 to the Gisborne Foodbank. Piper, Matt and Susan then hatched a plan to sell Piper's masks from the cafe takeaway window and donate some of the proceeds to the Gisborne Foodbank. Piper, we would like to sincerely thank you for your incredible generosity in helping those members of our community who may be struggling at the moment under the unprecedented circumstances that we find ourselves in due to COVID-19. Our young people show us that our community is in great hands x

13.01.2022 Last Friday I was so very fortunate to meet a pretty amazing group of year 6 students at Holy Cross Catholic Primary School New Gisborne. These incredible students have been focusing on social justice and business & economics as part of their curriculum and decided to raise money and awareness for a local charity as they have been doing for the past 5 years. They researched local needs and then voted to support the Gisborne Foodbank. How lucky are we!!!! The students all desi...gned and ran their own stalls over three days for the school community. Stalls included popcorn, ice-creams, slime, playdough, basketball shootout and lucky dips to name a few. How much fun would last week have been for the Holy Cross students! All proceeds from the stalls were donated to the Gisborne Foodbank, with a MASSIVE total of $1,734. UNBELIEVABLE!! Thank you so much to these wonderful students and your great teachers Amanda Thomas and Luke Wenczel for your generous hearts in wanting to help those in need in our local community this Christmas x And if this initiative wasn't enough, Holy Cross Social Justice Group also ran a food drive to collect items for our Christmas hampers. Thanks to Anne-Marie and Sue for dropping off all the Christmas treats to the Foodbank yesterday x

08.01.2022 Happy Tuesday everyone and I hope you are outside enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Great news this morning from the State Government advising that regional Victoria will be able to relax some of the COVID-19 restrictions within the next couple of days and move to the Third Step in the proposed Reopening Roadmap. We have had a number of wonderful members of our Macedon Ranges community contact us to offer their services as volunteers at the Gisborne Foodbank and we are so very... grateful to everyone who has contacted us over the last few months. We are currently not taking on any new volunteers until we can reach the COVID-normal stage of the reopening roadmap. We currently have a core group of 5-6 volunteers and to ensure that we can continue to keep everyone safe and well, we feel it is best not to bring on any new volunteers at this stage. Thank you again to everyone who has contacted us and for your continued support of the Gisborne Foodbank x

07.01.2022 Hi Everyone, just a quick post to see if anyone has any spare bag tags (pictured) as we are running low and we use these to pack our bread, sweet treats, meat, etc into plastic bags to ensure everything is COVID-safe, and for freezing. If you have any that you can drop into the Foodbank (or at any of our drop points while you are out shopping), that would be great. Thanks awesome community! x

05.01.2022 We have had a number of queries over the last couple of weeks about whether or not people can donate to the Gisborne Foodbank using their credit card, and now we can say....... ABSOLUTELY, YES, YOU CAN DONATE USING A CREDIT CARD. We have set up a new donation page at https://gisborne-community-care-foodbank.raisely.com/ to enable credit card donations. You can make a one-time donation and we also have the facility for people to make monthly, or yearly donations. For those who... prefer to donate cash in person at the Foodbank, or transfer money to our bank account, we are so very grateful to also accept these donations as well (just email us at [email protected] if you would like our bank account details). We would not be able to continue to help those in need without the support of our wonderful Macedon Ranges community. So we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts.
