16.01.2022 MACEDON RANGES REGIONAL SPORTING PRECINCT DESIGNS RELEASED THIS WEEK, BUT COUNCIL STILL NEED $20M FOR THE PROJECT Designs for the new $41M Macedon Ranges Region...al Sports Precinct will be released to the public later this week. The concept and designs won't be put on display as usual due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but will instead be released through an online webinar this Thursday. The precinct will be spread across two sites at the corner of Barringo and Hamilton roads in New Gisborne, and will also link up with a 23 kilometre walking and cycling trail, spanning from Riddells Creek to Woodend. It's the largest ever building project to be undertaken by the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, costing approximately $41M, but so far the council has only raised around $21M. These funds will allow completion of the design and the first stage of construction, so Macedon Ranges Shire Council hopes to secure further funding from state and fedeal governments to complete it.

04.01.2022 Large Club departs RDFNL. Disappointing to see a long standing Club move to metro competition. Other news is that the RDFNL will stand alone this year as it has severed ties with the AFL Goldfields. This is a positive move for the region and management of the competition.
