06.01.2022 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. It also marks day one of the 16 Days of Activism. During the 16 Days of Activism, people around the world unite to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge discrimination and call for laws and services to end violence against women for good. This year, a number of our libraries will be involved in activities across the region.... Kyneton and Castlemaine libraries have partnered with Central Victorian PCP to host a Family Violence vigil and spectacular ‘Break the Chain’ dance performance each. The foyer at Castlemaine will play home to a wonderful art exhibition Respect: See it Through and video slideshow Portraits of Respect. This means we can only have up to 20 visitors in the library at once. While there are no time limits, we would appreciate it if you could keep your visits brief so we can allow as many visitors through the doors as possible.
