21.01.2022 Insurance Australia Group has dropped its support for a NSW government proposal to raise the Warragamba Dam wall, over concerns the project will damage Aboriginal heritage sites in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. At the insurer's annual general meeting on Friday, chairman Elizabeth Bryan will announce IAG's new position, following pressure from traditional owners, activists and shareholders, including the lodgement of a shareholder resolution.

17.01.2022 BREAKING: At the Upper House Inquiry today, Traditional Owners have claimed WaterNSW Community and Niche Environment and Heritage attempted to bribe them with access to their own land in an attempt to garner their support to raise the Warragamba Dam wall.

A clear pattern is emerging of Stuart Ayres and his departmental consultants riding roughshod over proper Government process and Australia's international obligations. There is a growing coalition of groups who genuinely want to find alternative flood mitigation options across the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley. The Colong Foundation, Traditional Owners, the Insurance Council of Australia, Insurance Australia Group and local councils are all committed to properly investigating alternatives to raising the Warragamba Dam wall, and not destroying sacred Aboriginal cultural sites.
