14.01.2022 We may not have enrolled students, but we are still affected by the current situation. This is a scary time for all of us. Be the ‘calm’ for your children.

09.01.2022 I am aware there is a time capsule which was due to be opened next year. We will arrange to have this opened in the near future. In light of what is happening in the world at the moment, we are unable to hold a ceremony of any sort. Facilities are stretched at the moment dealing with issues relating to Covid-19. Once it can be opened we will make an announcement and post photos of possible. Any items if a personal nature will be returned where possible to the original owners. Items belonging to the school in general will be archived safely.

08.01.2022 Happy world teachers day to all those people in our school who go the extra mile for our kids - who come to work everyday with the moral purpose of helping our kids learn - who go above and beyond their role to support and guide these students to become strong, confident and knowledgeable citizens. We know what you do and we thank you!

05.01.2022 Another great day at our Pre-prep days! Lots of gardening today!

04.01.2022 Please keep an eye on Givelda School over the holidays and report anything suspicious. The school will remain fully alarmed and monitored.

04.01.2022 Thank you Givelda for lovely parting gift for 2020!

02.01.2022 Dear Community Members, It is with regret I inform you that we received official notification on Thursday 26th March, that Givelda State School will be temporarily closed or ‘mothballed’ for a period of 12 months from the start of Term 2, 2020. This is due to the fact that we have had no enrolments since 24 February and there are no confirmed enrolments for 2020 or beyond.... The school will be held as a ‘mothballed’ department asset with staff and resources appropriately redeployed to other schools. Education Queensland will continue to monitor enrolment trends in the area and will consider the potential future use for the site for educational purposes. I am deeply saddened by this news, as are my staff. I’m sure many community members will also be disappointed with this news as they, their children and grandchildren have been students at Givelda State School. Givelda State School will hold fond memories for many people, from many backgrounds, for many reasons. Givelda was to celebrate 125 years in 2021. Kind regards, Meagan Smith Acting Principal
