25.01.2022 #goodmorning and #happymonday Today, the second load of courier-delivered microgreens are heading out. I have faith that they will do better this week. But, if they dont I have a Plan B!... If the couriers are anything less than perfect, (in fact, even if they are perfect I may do this anyway because it seems like fun) Im going to start my own courier company specialising in local, more delicate, deliveries. Im also on the road today delivering microgreens with add-ons such as eggs from @bluetractorfarmpasturedeggs , and grain-free breads from @primalalternativebyrosie.

24.01.2022 Whatever I am doing, its working! Just smashed out a 1200m continuous swim. There seems to be a lot of limit-pushing lately. Reaching new physical, emotional, and mental heights, going from cant do, to can do, to done. There is a huge amount of satisfaction that comes from doing something that initially seems scary, almost impossible.... Its that feeling of growth, progress, towards a future self that is more aligned with the vision you have for your life. Physical progress is quite easy to measure and track, and I find it to be the easiest area to push myself. The physical body is built to adapt to external stimulus. The mental and emotional areas are bit more challenging. Mentally Im continuously being challenged to redesign how the business operates as I start to look at outsourcing some important functions. I enjoy that feeling of entering the unknown. At this stage in my life I have nothing to lose by trying new things, by taking risks. To growth!!

24.01.2022 Good morning Perth! Its another cold and wet kind of day, and the weekend is looking that way too. I dont know about you but Im hanging out for Summer. Its on its way. REMEMBER ordering for add-ons to arrive with your Monday microgreens delivery close at 5pm tonight. Ill be at Farmers Market on Manning Saturday 730-1230 so come and say hi, grab some greens, go forth and be nourished.

23.01.2022 In the beginning, there was a van! @thegivinggoodsdeliveryco is a thing...

22.01.2022 HAPPINESS IS THE PROGRESSIVE REALISATION OF A WORTHY IDEAL A worthy ideal is of course subjective and personal to an individual, but the unfolding of this vision that we have for our lives brings us great satisfaction. Last night before I climbed into bed I decided that I was going to go for a run in the morning, followed by a swim. I got every thing prepped so I didnt have to fumble about in the morning. All while doing this I was half thinking I should just sleep in in...stead. Its Sunday after all and it isnt shaping up to be a super busy one for me. So, why not sleep in? Why not take it easy? My alarm went off this morning and I did end up sleeping in. I got up at 5am instead of 4am. But I went for my run, 5km along the coast, then went to the gym for a swim. And I am super-satisfied that I did! I managed to do 10 continuous 100m laps. Previously I have done 50m then stopped, 50m stopped, etc. The whole breathing and swimming thing, without feeling like Im going to drown, has been hard work to get to grips with But I pushed myself and managed to do the continuous 100m, 10 times! It was a goal I had set for myself and I reached it. I left the pool feeling a huge sense of happiness, and freedom. To be free of the limits that were previously hanging over me, by me. It made me realise that there are other parts of my life that I am not pushing myself, because I feel a sense of stuck-ness. Once you experience that feeling of setting a target and smashing it, you just want to keep going. What else can I achieve today that moves me closer to my life I see for myself? Take advantage of the momentum. Start small if necessary. Pick a target, reach it, bask in the glory and happiness, then set another. Happy Sunday!

22.01.2022 Just me and the beach! I told myself I was going to go for a 5km run along the beach but just kept going. Guess I had more energy that I thought @ Scarborough, Western Australia

21.01.2022 It may be cold, wet, windy, and dark but I still love being here! Spending time by the sea calms me, and reminds me to be grateful, certainly for living in such an amazing place. I like to picture myself, from way above, from the outer edges of our atmosphere, standing on the very edge of this huge land mass, looking out over the vast ocean, which eventually gives way to other land masses. This process reminds me that no matter how big I feel my problems and challenges are, t...hey pale in comparison to what others may be going through on this massive pale blue dot floating in a potentially endless blackness. I am reminded of all the things to be grateful for. After all I have my health, a fair bit agency over how I spend my days, friends that I enjoy spending time with, a roof over my head (most of the time), and the knowledge that I have the ability to create my life, to envision a future and take action towards it. My happy place is by the sea. Where is your happy place? Happy Wednesday

20.01.2022 What a sunset!! Lately the theme of my life seems to be self care. Since starting The Giving Goods Delivery Co back in September, I have thrown all of me (plus some) into Giving Greens and The Giving Goods Delivery Co. Although there is always work to do, I do have to be intentional about making time to fill up my cup... which I don’t often do ... Sunsets are definitely one of the things that fill up my cup, and so is swimming (once I get into the rhythm). Both of which I have managed to do this afternoon I have been thinking a lot lately about how I can best use this medium to further the underlying purpose of Giving Greens, to help people live a healthier and happier life. To me, health and happiness go hand in hand. Good health isn’t just about the food we eat, it is as much about the thoughts we have, how we spend our time, what we believe about ourselves, life in general, and those around us. Good health begets happiness, and happiness begets good health. Microgreens are obviously a great start to improving you health and happiness because of their high micro-nutrient content, but there are so may other things you can do which I’ll be sharing here. I don’t have all the answers so I’ll be bringing in other people to share their insights, strategies, tips, hacks, and methods for living your happiest and healthiest life.

20.01.2022 Good morning Perth! It is looking like it is going to be a beautiful day today. Being Monday it is Giving Greens Day #givinggreensday... I hope you have an awesome day.

17.01.2022 Micro Basil is back baby!! One of the downsides to outdoor growing is that I can’t grow all my varieties all year. With the change of seasons there is the constant need to change the sowing schedule, watering, and the varieties.... Stoked to see that the weather is favourable for the micro-Basil to thrive again. Chefs will be happy!

16.01.2022 The Giving Goods Delivery Co making sure that Giving Greens orders made it safe and sound to customers all over Perth. @thegivinggoodsdeliveryco

15.01.2022 Everyone, I would like to introduce you all to my Plan B! After the couriers failed to impress me I decided to buy a van and hire my own driver. It occurred to me that there may be a need for a more careful courier service that is capable of delivering more delicate and perishable deliveries with perfection.... So, Im starting one! Today, The Giving Goods Delivery Co (@thegivinggoodsdeliveryco) has been born with a focus on serving the needs of local micro-small businesses, providing a tailored delivery service, delivering their products to their customers in perfect condition. I am going to make it a guarantee. Your deliveries are delivered perfectly, or Ill replace them! The Giving Goods Delivery Co will also collect reusable packaging, reducing costs for businesses, and reducing single use packaging waste. Im pretty stoked to see where this goes! Join me for the journey over at @thegivinggoodsdeliveryco

14.01.2022 Its wine-down time!! Well, not quite! Ordering for delivery Monday has just closed now I have to check the orders, prepare the delivery list, and order everything from all those great local producers so I can deliver it Monday. Its been a busy day running around doing restaurant deliveries, and preparing for Manning Farmers Market tomorrow.... Once Ive sorted the orders for Monday, theres the invoicing to do and then I think Im done. No reason why I cant start on the wine now though... a certified organic Merlot from New Zealand.

14.01.2022 My stomach was in knots all day yesterday as the first load of courier delivered microgreens made their way across Perth. Its was an early day, dropping off the orders at the depot at 530am. 73% of the microgreens arrived without an issue. Which isnt bad, I guess. But 73% isnt 100%, which is what I expect, especially from a company that specialised in delivering things.... They have been informed about the issues. Hopefully they take responsibility and take some serious steps to do a better job next week. Ill be looking at other options as a backup. Thank you to everyone who did have an issue for letting me know, and thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support. Well find a way to make this work!!

14.01.2022 Check out this Vegan Laksa from the newest vegan cafe to hit Victoria Park, @dfrentcafe. Topped with Giving Greens microgreens. Thats at least 50 people fuelling their body and mind with nutrient-dense microgreens. 50 people making Perth a healthier and happier city!... Its a big day but one of my favourites.

07.01.2022 MICROGREENS! Pretty much the only thing missing in your life... Im here at Manning Farmers Market with the greens that just give so much.... Come, try, experience the difference

05.01.2022 Flowers dont worry about how theyre going to bloom. They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful. Jim Carrey

04.01.2022 CHANGE IS IN THE AIR As Giving Greens continues to grow and develop, it must change, evolve, so that it can continue to provide the best microgreens long into the future. The rise in home deliveries has been great but I am finding that 10-11 hours on the road each Monday is a bit much for me. Driving really takes a lot of energy!... To free up my time to focus on other parts of Giving Greens I am going to start using a courier company to deliver the microgreens. Making sure that the microgreens arrive at your door in good condition is a high priority for me so I am getting these boxes custom made to snuggly fit the two different trays that I use. The boxes are recyclable and made from FSC approved sources. I am planning to also schedule a day once-a-month to come around and collect the used trays and boxes, if still in good condition. The courier wont be able to collect the used trays so Ill spend a day each month to drive around and collect accumulated trays. Im also making some changes to the pricing. Firstly, a $6 delivery charge will be added to the total. Im also incorporating discounts for the three subscription levels. 5% for monthly, 10% for fortnightly, 15% for weekly. Overall, prices are increasing slightly but the small change will make a big difference, and will go a long way to ensuring the longevity of Giving Greens. ALL OF THESE CHANGES TO PRICES WONT AFFECT CURRENT SUBSCRIPTIONS There is also going to be a free pickup option from designated drop-points across Perth, as well a pickup from Farmers Market on Manning Saturday mornings, and the new Claremont Showgrounds Farmers Market Sunday morning. Admittedly I have been apprehensive to implement these changes, particularly to prices. It is a big step for me and the business, and I believe these changes are necessary to help me build a business that can continue to have a positive impact on the lives of others. @ Perth, Western Australia

04.01.2022 I tend to think that to say I grow microgreens, flowers, or plants in general, is not entirely accurate. It is not us that does the growing of the plant, the plant grows itself. Or perhaps something else grows it that we do not yet understand. The role we play as humans is to provide the right conditions for them to grow and develop, to be the facilitators in their growth.... Fundamentally, how we see ourselves in relation to our surroundings, the environment, and the things in it, greatly influences how we interact with it. The language, the words, we use are important and conveys our deeper beliefs about whether we see ourselves as a part of, or something seperate, from the rest of life.

04.01.2022 Good morning!! As I am writing this post I am just waking up to the sounds of birds in my swag in Nannup. 4G hasn’t quite reached this part of the South-West so trying to do anything online feels like dial-up I am obviously not going to make it to the markets this morning but Gustavo the Great will be at Manning Markets in my place to meet all of those needs that only Giving Greens can meet. I am down here to take part in Seven (@sevengravelrace) a 125km off road mountain b...ike race. The weather is looking equally daunting. I hope the weather up there is looking a little better! See you all soon. I’d better find some coffee and get that bike ready...

03.01.2022 Good morning and Happy New Year! My day started off with the first swim since all the COVID stuff. I started swimming about a month or two before COVID, and although it isnt something Im particularly great at yet, I do enjoy it. While Im no stranger to physical activity, swimming is a whole new challenge that I am incrementally seeing progress in. Admittedly, all the way to the pool this morning I was thinking it was a bit of a dumb idea when its cold and wet but once I w...as in and started it was great. The heated pool helps too! Today is also the beginning of the new financial year which I find more exciting than the 1st of January. Today marks the end of a great year for Giving Greens (ignoring the COVID speed bump) and the time to start looking towards the year ahead, setting new goals, to reach more people and spread the message of health and happiness. Im so glad that youre here with me. There are a lot of exciting things I want to do this year and I cant wait to share them with you!

02.01.2022 Home sweet home after a massive, and massively satisfying day of deliveries. A little over 50 deliveries today, all the way from Rockingham, to the hills, and up to Madeley. Just missed the sunset but now its time to chill

02.01.2022 Some nice bits of this years Turmeric harvest. Not as impressive as last years haul but Ill save them up and plant them again soon.

01.01.2022 The boxes have arrived!! Starting on the 17th some orders will be delivered by the courier neatly packaged up in some custom made boxes from @visyforabetterworld This is a big and really exciting step forward for me and for Giving Greens. Outsourcing the delivery of the microgreens not only gives me more time to work on developing the business but it also means I am able to reach more people, quicker!... If your order is going to be delivered by courier this coming Monday I will be letting you know by text. Ill also set up a Delivery Feedback form on the website because I want your feedback on how the boxes have been delivered and how the microgreens look on arrival. Making sure the microgreens are being delivered well is super important to me. The boxes can go in the compost or the recycling bin, but if you keep hold of them I can take them back and reuse them as long as they are still in good condition. As for the trays, again, keep hold of them and will do a collection run once a month. One sad part about having the courier doing the deliveries means that I wont get to see your happy faces as often. Hopefully I bump into you occasionally when Im out collecting trays. Thank you all for your continued support. It means a huge amount to me to be able to connect with so many great people and to be able to serve you! To your continued health and happiness
