24.01.2022 Hi All, we are taking a break from training next week so there will not be training on Tuesday or Thursday. See you back on October 15 (first week of school)

23.01.2022 Hi All With the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak currently underway there have been a number of measures put in place by state and federal governments to limit the spread of the infection. Our first priority is always your health and safety. Kancho Gary is monitoring government advice very carefully and he will act upon all official advice. If that means suspending classes he will issue that instruction immediately. Kancho Gary has stated that the following conditions need to ...be met at training at this current time Do not attend class, if you (or someone in your family) has recently travelled overseas; Stay at home if you are unwell; Maximise the distance between yourself and others, whenever possible; Minimise physical contact with others (No judo, grappling etc.); Maintain a high level of hygiene by washing your hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand rubs which kill viruses that may be on your hands While it is not the case yet that classes are cancelled, there will likely come a time in the very near future where this will be the case. If you have any questions please let me know, and if I do not know the answer, I will be sure to find it out

23.01.2022 Last week I alerted you to the possibility that training may soon have to be suspended. At training on Thursday, I let people know that it had become a reality. Classes have been suspended until further notice. In class, we have talked a lot about how we learn self-defence to keep ourselves, and those we care about safe if the need should ever arise. The physical distancing restrictions that have been put into place go a long way to ensuring that we keep ourselves as physica...lly safe as possible. However for me personally, this physical distancing requirement, the media coverage and the panic buying in supermarkets has increased my overall levels of anxiety and I know that others are feeling the same way. In these times we need to keep ourselves safe mentally and emotionally, not just physically. All the talk in the media, and from the government has talked about the need for social distancing, but in an article I read, which I will post here soon, it talks about the need to reframe it as being distantly social. It is not about cutting your self off from others, we don't want to be socially distant, because you need those close to you more than ever. It is really about being distantly social, about still finding ways to make life as normal as possible despite the physical distance you need to keep. This is also a form of self-defence. Karate over the last 17 years has always been a way to centre me and cheer me up when I am having a bad day. I hope over the time you have had training with us that you have enjoyed, and gotten a lot out of it, and that will resume your training when this all blows over. To help keep me connected with Karate in this time I will try to be more active on this page, a big part of this is for me, but I also thought it may be helpful for some of you. There might also be some other things I share through email that I don't put here. It may be some short videos of things to do at home, it may be some articles or other thoughts. But let me be clear, there is no pressure here, If you, or your kids, want to do some training then I will do my best to provide some very simple things to do, but in this current climate if you or they feel that it is not the right fit for you, then that is also a really valid choice and one I also may make at one point I will be in touch with current members by email within the next week about this more but in the meantime, stay safe. Sensei Shane

22.01.2022 Hi all, it has been a while but I am happy to say that training will be starting up again on Tuesday next week. I have sent an email to all members about this, it is important that you read this before attending training as it includes all the COVID measures we have put in place. If you do not receive it please let me know.

20.01.2022 With the return to training there will be a new check in process in place for all people at training a short video on how to use it is below. All currently training members are already in this system. However I also need to keep track of others, such as parents/caregivers at training to watch. On your first time watch you may need to fill in the paper form, but after that you can use this system

20.01.2022 Welcome to 2020. I hope everyone had a good break, we will be starting up training again this week. Same time, same place, looking forward to seeing you there.

11.01.2022 Finally had a go a creating a short video for a training drill you can try at home only using a pair of socks (or something similar). This one is designed to work on the speed of your punches. Let me know below if you have given it a go and how you went.

11.01.2022 Hi all I am still in Adelaide for work and sensei Jade was going to be running training however he has let me know that the heat could be an issue for training tonight so we will cancel training tonight. Sorry for the late notice

06.01.2022 This afternoon the Premier announced a return to restrictions on sports training and events. These restrictions will be in place for a minimum of the next 2 weeks and therefore training will be canceled for this time. This would mean that we will not have training again until Tuesday, December 1. As the situation develops we may have to extend this but I will let you know through this page and through email if this is the case. If you have any questions please feel free t...o contact me but stay safe and follow the health guidelines and I am sure we will be back in no time Shane
