18.01.2022 Hello R24 Students and Families, Our final Grading for 2020 is tomorrow and it’s certainly going to be an exciting morning for all attending. Please take note o...f the following details so that your day can be the best it can. Aim to be there to check in at 9:30am as the school has part of the car park closed due to some construction work there and it may take you an extra 5 minutes to walk. When checking in at the admin desk please hold off all equipment purchases and membership enquiries to after the Grading has started or until the end to avoid unnecessary delays. Please ensure you wear your full uniform and this also includes a badge on your jacket otherwise you will be asked to purchase one and pin it on. If you have any jewellery please remove it or cover it with appropriate tape for your safety. As in any class please bring your own filled water bottle. If you haven’t been to the Kawana Dojo before allow extra time to find the entry and follow others to the hall. Rest up tonight, eat well and be prepared to enjoy the challenge and display your very best. See more

12.01.2022 YAAAAAAHOOOOO!!!! A HUUUGGGEEE CONGRATULATIONS to all of our students who successfully achieved their next belt level at our Regional Grading. It was a w...arm morning in the Dojo and every Karateka certainly stood up to the challenge to do themselves, their families and their Sensei very proud indeed. An extra well done to our 22 new Yellow Belts who showed that they are made of tough stuff and are on the right path to Black Belt. Also a special mention to Remy and Elliot who set a high standard for all and were outstanding examples of what it truly takes to Grade to 1st Kyu Brown Belt. Thank you to our dedicated and passionate Instructor Team for their encouragement and guidance leading up to the day and for their phenomenal teamwork to ensure the Grading was a great experience for all students and their families. Please remember to take the attitude of friendship and support that we talked about into the Dojo tonight so that we can all achieve more than what we thought we could ever do alone. Such a fun way to end our Karate year with our students, families and instructors and even better when you get to throw a fri...end around too A BIG BIG THANK YOU to all who came along today by either training or being support crew as it was so enjoyable to have our beach classes again after this sometimes mad and challenging year. Everyone literally embraced our beach Bunkai and the jumping Karate Kid kicks in the water were a great way to finish Also a special thank you to my stuntmen Sensei Jason Witham and Sensei Dylan Brennan for making me look superhuman Once again thank you for supporting today as I enjoyed it immensely as well and I deeply appreciate all of our wonderful Karate families for they are what really makes teaching so rewarding. 06.01.2022 HAPPY KARATE MONDAY! 1. Please remember to listen to your Sensei as they will always have your best interests at heart. 2. Also it’s ok to ask them what y...ou have to work on and develop. 3. Refer to number 1 otherwise you shouldn’t have asked. With our Assessment classes on at Bokarina tomorrow night and Burpengary on Wednesday make sure you are there and ready to display your best. Also you should have a Grading plan in place with your Sensei if not then discuss one as Sunday is approaching very rapidly and it’s our second last Grading for the year. #aimforprogression #beopentoimprovement See more

Also please remember to have your badge sewn or pinned on or you will have to purchase one at the start. 4. Bring your own water as we can’t use the drink fountains. 5. Sleep well, eat a good breakfast and remember that your Sensei believes in you otherwise you wouldn’t be invited to attend. 6. 03.01.2022 Congratulations to all who graded today. And especially (totally bias) June, Alicia and Levi getting some deserved colour on their belts movig up to 9th Kyu, yellow belt. Than we have Kim, Teagan, Conner and Lilly taking a big step to earning their 6 Kyu green belts.

03.01.2022 REGIONAL KATA TOURNAMENT FINALLY OVERCOMES COVID-19 SHUTDOWN!!! Such a special experience to have the Tournament that we planned to hold in March happ...en today!!! It was certainly a morning full of smiles, camaraderie, sportsmanship, awesome Karate and LOTS of medals. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of our dedicated Instructors and Officials who made the day the AWESOME success that it was for everyone involved. It was our first time running this style of Kata Round Robin Tournament and it was great to see how much the competitors and judges enjoyed the minimum 3 rounds per entrant as it made for some very close decisions in the medal tally. Well done to all of our competitors as the standard was solid across all divisions and particularly amongst our younger first timers and our Junior Team Kata entrants who were AWESOME in their focus and encouragement of one another. Whether you won a medal or did your best version of a Kata that you have before take that positive to class tomorrow night and hold your head a little higher in a humble way. Yours with much respect, Andrew Howell Regional Instructor See more
