25.01.2022 It was great to be back teaching the Banora Students in our new Dojo. It’s been a little over 6 months since Banora last ran and we’ve missed your lovely smiles and awesome karate attitudes heaps. Looking forward welcoming back the rest of our Banora Dojo students next week.... It’s a great facility with heaps of parking and room to spread out. A bonus is the ample toilets ( Don’t laugh , it’s great when you have 10 young students all decide to go at once) Everyone trained super hard which was awesome. 23.01.2022 Hi Students and Parents, Here is the latest timetable for those of us who live in NSW. As you can see there is plenty of changes... Coolangatta Dojo is now at the Tweed Heads Primary School but from 5.30-6.30pm Monday ( enter from the carpark at the top of the hill) Banora Dojo is now at the Banora Point Community Baptist Church Wednesday’s 5.30-6.30pm & 6.45-7.45pm Tweed Dojo is now at the Tweed Community Centre on Heffron Street opposite the Indoor Pool. 18.01.2022 Great news for all Banora Dojo students - While we are waiting for our Banora class to resume in term 3, I’d like to let parents know that classes have restarted back at Coolangatta and Tweed Dojo’s. Sensei Mark has emailed everyone with information regarding this exciting news.... If attending Cooly Dojo then please allow plenty of time to get through the border for the Cooly class. 18.01.2022 Hi Parents & Students, Summer is here and so is the warmer weather Don’t forget to bring plenty of water to drink. Your instructors will provide plenty of drink breaks... Remember you can wear your GKR training Shirt instead of your Gi top during the warmer days. If you don’t have a training shirt please ask your instructors to order you one. Regards Sensei David

15.01.2022 What does a Sensei do? My Sensei doesn’t just teach me karate. My Sensei is my role model. Someone who has already walked the path I want to go. ... My Sensei is my motivator. They inspire me to push to points I never thought I could reach. My Sensei is my coach. They help me through the toughest times in my journey. My Sensei is my drill sergeant. They keep me in line, on task to achieve my goals. My Sensei is my biggest fan. They believe in me when I struggle to believe in myself. My Sensei teaches me integrity, discipline, and the highest standards of personal character. My Sensei teaches me to fail, and they teach me to stand back up again, to never give up. My Sensei teaches me to show respect and courtesy to all who walk this earth. My Sensei teaches me to be calm and in control, responsible always for my behaviour. My Sensei teaches me to be faithful and sincere in all that I do. My Sensei doesn’t just teach me karate. My Sensei prepares me for life.

15.01.2022 Hi Tweed Students and Parents, For those attending the Christmas beach class tomorrow, please be aware that from 8pm tonight you will need to go online and apply for a permit for entry into QLD The permit website is currently being updated so don’t apply before 8pm... It’s frustrating that it’s come back to this. There will be no border checkpoint but police are doing random stops and audits to make sure all NSW residents have a permit. 14.01.2022 Hi Students and Parents, Students are encouraged to attend Banora dojo in their favorite team colors this Wednesday. It’s not in any way compulsory and it’s ok to wear your Gi.... Yes, this is not far away as we are just in the final stages of gaining authorization from each of our dojo’s. As this is granted we will notify each and every student about resuming their training. 11.01.2022 Hi Students and Parents, For those of us who live near or over the border it’s reached that time of year again. Tonight we need to put our clocks and watches FORWARDS by one hour. ... The benefits for those who live near the border and have a permit is that NSW classes are an hour ahead and you can bring the kids for a class at 4.30pm QLD which will be 5.30pm NSW time. Our Coolangatta class will run on NSW time as 99% of the students who train there live in NSW Any questions give me a call on 0427 484 507 Regards Sensei David

10.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all our GKR Dad’s and those who have assumed the mantle of fatherhood for those in need A father is more than someone who we may or may not share DNA with, it’s someone who holds our hands when we are little and someone who will hold a large piece of our hearts forever. If you train with your children or fill that very important role of getting them to class 2-3 times a week then you’ll know the joy of seeing them accomplish a new karate skill or get ...that next level. Anyone can father a child but it takes a real person to step up and give them your strength and compassion and wisdom and love. Have a truly awesome & amazing day Regards Sensei David

06.01.2022 Hi Students & Parents, All of our classes are still running this week. We are however exercising all Covid19 precautions to be on the safe side.... Use hand sanitizer on the way in and out Following indoor social distancing guidelines No partner work or sparring No kick shield work. Parents to wear masks if watching and during sign in etc Students aren’t required to wear masks whilst undergoing karate training which is vigorous. It’s only for a few days at the moment Classes are still open and will still be fun and educational. 06.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Only 3 more sleeps until Shihan Anthony’s Seminar. I’ve been fortunate enough to train with and under Shihan many times over the years and I always look forward to the karate session that he teaches at our Manager’s Conferences.... Over the years there have been Instructors who have left inside me a burning desire to learn and improve after training in their class. Shihan is one of those amazing people. He will motivate every muscle in your body and leave you wanting more and more and more. I know Sunday is Fathers Day but the seminar is on in the evening when dad is probably tuckered out after his big day & will be probably having a nap on the lounge So get excited and get registered for one of the most amazing Zoom sessions you will have ever had.
