22.01.2022 Hello R24 Karateka, Next Friday the 25th we are participating in the 100 Kata Challenge for International Karate Day and YOU are invited to the Caloundra City Private School Dojo on Pelican Waters Boulevard in Pelican Waters. This event was founded in Okinawa the birthplace of Karate by Asato Dojo founder Sensei James Pankiewicz and encourages participants from around the world to unite and share their passion for the art of Karate Do. It will run from 5:30pm to 8pm and pleas...e be there at 5:15pm sharp to sign in and everyone who attempts the challenge will be presented with the official 100 Kata Challenge certificate(see image in comments) the following week at class. I have registered our club as official participants on the event page and feel free invite your Dojo classmates to attend as well to share in this amazing initiative. We will also be using it as a fundraiser for the outstanding volunteers of the Rural Fire Service and for the charity Beddown which provides emergency pop up accommodation for homeless people so bring along some spare coins to help make a difference. Robert first began training in the art of karate in 1964, and spent time training and teaching in both Japan and the USA before establishing GKR in 1984. 06.01.2022 Dear Students and Parents, The GKR student jacket is NOW available for order. Attached is an order form you can print out and give to your instructor with payme...nt by Sunday 8th September, or you can obtain an order form from your instructor at training. The jacket is priced at $79 The new club badge is embroidered on the front All writing and kanji on the back is embroidered There are 2 zip pockets at the front The sizings are pretty standard ie: if you’re usually a medium then order a medium. If you want to wear it over a canvas uniform, then you could possibly go up a size. The material is the ‘standard tracksuit’ kind (ie: nylon/parachute material) We have included an indicative age chart to help you choose the correct size for children. The jackets look great and we are expecting them to be very popular so why not be one of the first to wear them and show pride in your club.
