25.01.2022 Awesome class to everyone. Grading format in both the 6-6:45 and the advanced 7-7:45 classes. We had a grading in the first class for James he did so well in all that was asked of him at a 9th Kyu level. Advanced class guys you rocked. So good to see the orange belts able to do the blue to red belt format. ... Let see what next week entails.

24.01.2022 All of the Campbelltown Champions were looking sharp, both classes powered through their grading formats. There is always something to work on but everyone is on track. The Student of the Week was Lani. Good luck to Melissa attempting yellow belt and Sky attempting green belt on Sunday.

23.01.2022 More close quarter partner work for the Campbelltown Champions. The kids class started with kihon and then the coloured belts did kata while the white belts used the strikes and blocks in self-defence drills. The Student of the Week was Mardy. The advance students started with kata and moved to kumite for those who had all the equipment. We have not done any since March so it was a bit tentative but a couple of more sessions and everyone will get back to their flow.

23.01.2022 Kumite day for both classes of Campbelltown Champions, for those who didn’t have a full set of kumite gear it was knee/shoulder tap. Congratulations to Kylan grading to green belt and Sienna grading to red belt. A reminder this is the last week of classes for the year, classes will resume Monday January 4th. For the month of January the Tuesday at Campbelltown will have a single class 6:30-7:45. See you all next year.

23.01.2022 Hello to all GKR Karate instructors, As we come to the end of this most unusual year, I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank every one of you for ...the loyalty, support and commitment you’ve shown to both the club and your students this year. Whether it was putting your hand up to run some Zoom classes, staying in touch with your students during class closures, modifying your class structures and protocols to conform with Covid-safe directives, or just being available to resume your teaching role as soon as we could re-open after lockdowns...your enthusiasm for making the best out of a difficult situation has been remarkable. If this year has brought about any positives, then by far the most encouraging one for Kancho and I has been seeing the team spirit of the GKR Karate community in action across the country (and around the world). You’ve all played an important role in keeping everything and everybody connected over these past 6+ months and for this we feel truly humbled and extremely grateful. I hope that you and your families can enjoy a safe and relaxing Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year ahead. Kind regards, Gavin Samin Assistant Chief Instructor GKR Karate

17.01.2022 Hello Tuesday night Champions. Great turn out for class in these school holiday times. First class we started with the knee tap game as the warm up. Then it was onto the 9th Kyu self defence against the pool noodle and kick shield. We then followed it up quickly with punches and block in Kihon as I was needing to grade Chatwin to his 9th Kyu. Student of the week was JR. ... Second advanced class was started off with Tabata. Next we tested out the results of homework last week which was to work out the number of moves and number of Kia’s up to Seiunchin. These kata we went through by the numbers particular focus on the head turn people tend to forget in first Kata. We finished the class with Kumite. See every one next week

17.01.2022 Current time table for our DOJO

15.01.2022 Happy School Holidays for the Tuesday Campbelltown Champions. Glad you all came tonight. First Class we did lesson plan 1 for the white belts and started with the same for the higher belts before we ended up with them doing kata. The white belts did some combinations and palm strikes and kicks against the kick shield. We welcomed Viktor today and Tasha was the student of the week. ... The advanced second class had the red belts learning Seiunchin with the green/blue belts learning Bassai Dai. Remember your homework which will get checked next week.

14.01.2022 Leg day for the Campbelltown Champions. Both classes concentrated on kicks, stationary, moving combinations and finally into a kick shield. The advanced students finished with kata. Congratulations to Melissa who graded to yellow belt on Sunday. The Student of the Week was Bradley.

14.01.2022 Congrats to both Sensei Phil on grading to Ni (2nd) Dan and Sensei Aiden on grading to Shodan Ho on Saturday 5th Dec weekend. It was a tough grading but both passed with flying colours. There was assigned seating for the spectators a first for a GKR Karate Grading which was because of COVID-19 restrictions but that was so the grading could go ahead. They have worked hard this year during those crazy times. Wish them the best when you see them next at class.

13.01.2022 Friday night Champs great classes tonight. First class was some basic Kihon as we had some of the white belts grading to their next grade tonight and we also have some people grading this weekend as well. The higher belts went through Kokutsu-datchi while I had Brooke take the white belts through the grading checks for white with yellow tip. Grading to 9th Kyu tonight was Joseph, Breanna, and Thomas. ... Charly and Rhyse are grading this weekend to Yellow belt. Jack was student of the week. The Advanced Second class we did some partner work similar to what senior class did this week.

12.01.2022 Excellent session by the Campbelltown Champions. The early class started with basic strikes and kicks. To make sure they were using the correct part of the foot they kicked the wall and then the kick shield. They finished up with kata. The Student of the week was Kendall. The advanced students did kumite drills with pool noodles then a few rounds of kumite and finished off with kata. A reminder that there will be no Ambarvale class on Saturday 5th of December because of the Black Belt grading.

The Student of the week was Kylan. The advanced students stated with kata, and needed a quick tutorial on correct foot position for mae geri. They finished off with a few rounds of kumite.

10.01.2022 Congratulations to two champions who graded last Saturday. Sensei Aiden to shodan-ho (provisional black belt) and Sensei Phil to nidan (second dan black belt) There will be a grading this weekend so we had grading format for the Campbelltown Champions. Only needed to refine the kihon and kata. Good luck to Cody, Kylan and Sienna. More grading news, well done Jade showcasing what she had leaned and promoted to 9th kyu (yellow tip). 04.01.2022 Awesome effort by the Campbelltown Champions, both classes working on kihon and kata. There were a few improvements required for everyone’s kihon. The yellow belts leaning first kata while the higher grades refining their grade kata. The Student of the Week was Kylan.

03.01.2022 Awesome work by the Campbelltown Champions. In the early class everyone started with open hand strikes and blocks in heiko dachi and then moving in zenkutsi dachi. It was a bit advanced for most of the students but they picked it up really well. The Student of the Week was Marselene. It was kata day for the advanced class. Refining their lower grade kata and improving sections of their grade kata. The class finished with kata display by each group.
