21.01.2022 Hi all, Commencing Monday 20/04/20, some of the Region 6 instructors will be hosting live online classes, for those who have subscribed to the Online Dojo. The timetable attached shows when the class is being held, and who the instructor will be. If you have already signed up to the Online Dojo, now you can get back to training with some of your instructors and fellow students, or train with other students or instructors LIVE & online.... 20.01.2022 Hi all, Classes have returned to Springside from this week. There are a number of temporary measures that are required for all GKR karate-ka to strictly adhere to. Those measures have been uploaded onto this Facebook page for you to view/use. ... We are only able to facilitate up to 20 students and instructors. To maximise the number of student training, that means no parents or other support people will be able to wait inside the dojo. Bookings are to be made before class and are essential. The link to the booking page is attached. The Region 6 timetable for June 2020 is also included, so you are aware when classes will be held, and when other classes/dojos are expected to reopen. See you on Tuesday and Saturday.

19.01.2022 Happy Sunday Karate-ka! To recap our class dates, our last sessions in 2019 will be on Tuesday the 17th and Saturday the 21st of December. In the new year, classes will resume on Tuesday the 7th and Saturday the 11th of January.

19.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME BACK! On behalf of Kancho and all of our senior teaching personnel, I’d like to wish you a ‘Happy January’ and welcome you back to ka...rate classes in 2019. I hope that this year can yield some momentous gains with your training as you continue on your inspiring path towards Black Belt and beyond. As you lay out your grading ambitions for this coming year, please remember that regular training in itself should be the seen as an empowering goal worth striving for. Gradings are exciting, but they are secondary to the act of maintaining a disciplined training regime throughout the average year’s many distractions. I say this because while you are training, you will invariably be the strongest version of yourself both mentally and physically. January usually represents the ‘honeymoon period’ for our new year resolutions, but the sense of self-discipline that karate training develops will keep the ‘iron in your spine’ for the entire years’ worth of schooling, work or other personal pursuits. Karate also breeds patience, and this is an essential quality when setting longer term goals. Most people over-estimate what they can achieve in a week but under-estimate what they can achieve in a year. It’s easy to become side-tracked or lured away by other seemingly more comfortable activities (Netflix comes to mind:). But remember the grass is always greener where you water it, so stay regular with your training and aim to continually uphold the spirit of Budo and the principles outlined in our Dojo Kun. 06.01.2022 There will be an assessment class this coming Saturday. Make sure you come early for a good parking spot! Please be aware that you need to be referred by your Sensei to attend the assessment class. There will also be the regular class on at the same time which you can attend.

06.01.2022 We are excited to announce the relaunch of our National Squad Tournament Team in Victoria. We are encouraging all students with a keen interest in tournaments t...o attend this Open Day on June 2nd. National Squad training is the ultimate training for those that are looking to improve their skills in kata and kumite. This open session will be run by Victorian State team coaches, Zone Instructors and Regional Instructors. There will be many tips given towards improving your karate and we will also give you an overview of this years schedule and plan of attack. The class is open to all students (all ages) that are yellow belt or above. There is no obligation to continue with the monthly squad training after this session but we do encourage you to come along and find out all about it. Hope to see you there :)
