24.01.2022 It was a pleasure helping out at Sensei Karen's class tonight! Well done to the group I lead, which was a mix of 8th - 4th Kyu grades that ran through the 7th K...yu grading format, hip work drills and partner work. It was great to see the energy and commitment of these students working hard to fine tune aspects of their Kihon through application. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

24.01.2022 A big congratulations to Michaela for joining the rest of your family as a 9th kyu yellow tip well done you train hard. Your yellow belt is getting close. Arham and Zaryab you two train hard with focus each and every week, it was great to see you both achieve your 7th kyu ho orange tip. Keep up the dedication and hard work it's worth it . Hassan it was great to see you awarded a certificate for awesome improvement in your karate and Zuheyb your focus is showing, being able to count to 10 in Japanese so soon is amazing well done

21.01.2022 A big congratulations to Anwar on achieving his 9th kyu yellow tip tonight! He is an attentive student and tries very hard, which makes him a delight to have in class. Upon receiving his certificate he mentioned that he is really enjoying his training. My apologies, no photo, but will make sure he appears in a photo when he achieves his full yellow belt. Not far away now!

21.01.2022 Dear GKR students and families, 2020 has been an extraordinary year, filled with many unexpected twists and turns. We thank you for your patience as our classes... closed and openedand closed again in various parts of the world. Despite the chaos, the events of this year have no doubt made us more resilient and reminded us not to take our good health for granted. Our thoughts are with those who have been adversely affected by the events of this year and we thank everyone who has been working on the frontlines providing health care or other essential services throughout the most difficult times. On behalf of everyone at GKR Karate, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and Happy New Year. Our first day back for classes next year is January the 4th. Please check with your local dojo for reopening dates. We look forward to seeing you in 2021!

15.01.2022 Today we held our last grading of the year. With a total of 61 students on the floor, it was a big one, and it demonstrated the commitment of Region 13’s students during this challenging year by continuing their journeys to their next levels. We were excited to see so many students on the floor today. The vibe was electric! Great focus, great attitudes, great enthusiasm all round. And everyone ready to kick start 2021 with new goals in mind. Dianella was well represented. 08.01.2022 Hello all We have 4 more weeks of training left before our 2 week break for Xmas and New Year! We also have the final grading of the year coming up on December 13 and we have a large number of potential candidates from our Dianella classes to attempt their next levels. ... As the majority of our students train in more than one class, your instructors discuss students progress before grading. We will be looking closely at everyone over the next couple of weeks. Don’t forget your etiquette - do not ask when or tell your instructor you’re due, instead ask what you can work on. We’ll approach you when you’re good to go The weather is also warming up this week and we’d like it to not deter you from attending class. Everyone will be feeling the heat and we’ll be allowing more frequent drink breaksso we can all stay well hydrated. Typically our last week of classes for the year are a wee bit different to the others. Xmas dress ups? Karate games? Fun? Nibbles and drinks? You’ll have to wait and see! We’ll see you all this week

06.01.2022 Happy New Year!! 2021 Hope everyone is safe and well, and enjoying the holiday break. We’re probably all in the same boat - eaten too much, drank too much, lazed around too much. But we all have to start back again some time. The longer you leave it the harder it will be. ... Your awesome instructors will be there for YOU! So make sure you’re at the dojo next week! Dianella classes will be starting up from Monday 4th January. Monday 6-7pm - Sensei Paul Tuesday 5:45-6:45pm - Sensei Karen Thursday 5:45-6:45pm - Sensei Mark Please arrive at the dojo at least ten minutes before class starts. We don’t cancel class if the weather is warm. We’ll ensure the ceiling fans are on to help cool us down. You ensure you bring plenty of water for frequent drink breaks. Looking forward to seeing you return to focus on your next grade level and all the other benefits karate has to offer you. Here’s to the next 50 weeks of training! See you in the dojo
