25.01.2022 Always a great night training with our Wednesday warriors We worked mostly on our grading format in our first two classes and in our advanced class we worked on some kumite training drills and finished with kata mixed with fitness. All though everyone works super hard, we need to remember our dojo etiquette. RESPONSES!! This is a really important part of karate. ... Great job Phil who put in a massive effort, Kayal with his awesome kick combo's and Bella.M smashing out her 1st and 2nd kata. Congratulations to the following student's who received a grading- Tony 7th kyu-ho Arzoyi 9th kyu We had two "Sensei's choice" awards last night. Awesome job Georgia who worked super hard and always has fantastic stances. 24.01.2022 Another busy night for our Wednesday night warriors. Amazing training across our three classes. Welcome to all of our new students we are looking forward to helping you on your journey. In our first and second classes We worked on our basic blocks and kicks and our grading kata. Our last class the students worked on their foot work and striking skills. We finished up with a speed and accuracy drill which the students really enjoyed. ... We understand everyone's frustration on our classes being booked out at Glendenning. In all of our classes tonight we worked on conditioning, our reflexes, our kicking line drills and kata. Our first class our white and yellow belts worked with Sensei Amanda on basic combinations and the higher grades worked with Sensei Daniel on blocks, Mawashi geri and kata. 22.01.2022 Awesome effort from everyone at Glendenning Dojo last night! Our first energetic class worked on mae geri (front kick) and mawashi geri (round kick) with a partner and also how to block those kicks. We had our second class working on line drills and basics before finishing the class with kata. ... And in our last class of the night we did kumite, with a drill focusing on developing speed, power and control. Karim and Khoda were a stand out in our first class with their partner work having maturity and using controlled kicks. Phil had a great class working closely with Sensei Daniel and showing strong kumite skills. 19.01.2022 In our first class yellow belts and above worked on kokutsu-dachi whilst our white belts worked on their khion (basics) incorporating some core strength. In our 2nd class we worked on stances as a whole and then we split up to work on some fun kumite partner drills. In our 3rd class Sensei Daniel put our seniors through their paces with a kumite class, with an emphasis on using our front leg round kick as an alternative to a standard jab. Followed by some more kumite drills ...and fitness to end the class. Special mentions go to Lilly-May, Tyrese and Ryder for working hard their entire class. Aarav for always putting in 100% and having excellent dojo etiquette. Vincent who put in 100% focus and also picked up student of the week. Xayden and Jayden who showed maturity when it came to working together on higher graded kumite drills. 17.01.2022 With School holidays over 131 students attended tonight's classes and put in a huge effort. Over our three classes we focused on everything from basic strikes and kicks, to partnered kicking drills and kata with a game of "Kata Statue". In our later class those wanting to do kumite worked on leopard style of attacked and defence. Whilst those who wanted refine their grade kata were happy to do so. ... 15.01.2022 Yesterday GKR held the NSW Kata Super Seminar at the Whitlam Centre in Liverpool. Over 120 karateka across NSW attended and trained with some of our top instructors including, Shihan Anthony, Sensei Alex, Sensei Jan and Sensei Mark. We had an awesome group represent R2 over all 3 sessions. I am super proud of my student's who trained hard over the day and learnt some new kata's as well as refining their grade kata. Special mention to Xayden who was smashing Empi, and also B...les who was giving 110% in every session. Bella who was killing crescent kicks with Sensei Jan in bassa-dai and Alex who also gave 110% in each session as well as displaying strong technique. Over all great job from everyone, I was jealous that I couldn't gi up with you guys, it was a pleasure to watch you all. Sensei Daniel

11.01.2022 Wednesday night warriors were on in all three of our classes tonight. We would like to welcome all of our new student's to GKR Karate Starting off the night we focued on blocks, and then finding practical ways we can use them for self defence. Next we had our advanced students working on grading drills and kata while white and yellow belts focused on kicks with the kick paddles.... Our last class was all about kicks. Improving flexibility, kicking height and strength was a big focus. We then used our newly gained abilities on the kick paddles! It is always nice to see new coloured belts across the class and the student's eager to learn new drills and kata's. A few special mentions this week to student's who have been putting in the extra work. ... Prathma and Jayden (newly 5th kyu's) have been putting in 110% and are committed karateka. Each and every week they take their training seriously, have outstanding dojo etiquette and a willingness to listen and learn. 09.01.2022 Fantastic training across all three classes tonight with strong team work, excellent dojo etiquette and a willingness to learn. Our first class worked on basics with Sensei Daniel, whilst Sensei Amanda took the higher grades through their paces with some kicking combos. Our second class smashed through some kumite footwork and we finished the night off in kata groups where everyone worked great together. ... 08.01.2022 A much cooler night's training for our Wednesday night warriors Tonight we worked on our grade kata, some kicking line drills and ending the night with some fitness and kumite drills. Prathma was a stand out tonight with her kumite drill intensity, Georgia had amazing stances, and Sharauv worked hard during kata and fitness drills. ... 08.01.2022 87 keen karateka smashed through our Friday night sessions at Glendenning Dojo Sensei Mark worked with our lower grades in the 1st and 2nd classes on some fitness, kata and khion(basics) drills. Whilst Sensei Daniel took orange belt and above through some foot work and had some fun with a 1st kata challenge. Sensei Mark then put the senior class through their paces with some fitness, then the class broke up into groups where the higher grades worked on sanseru concentrati...ng on their solid stances. Whilst blue belt and below worked on bassa-dai, We ended the night with some fun on the breakable boards. Awesome training across all 3 classes, special mention goes to Xayden and Isabella who worked great together showing maturity and having fun. Elmira and Adrian who won the kata challenge, Lachlan G for great focus, and Sensei Marco who gave 110%. 08.01.2022 Great class last night at Glendenning Dojo. Good focus all round and some stand out karateka from out Wednesday night warriors. Wednesday the 16th December will be our last class for the year, we will return to classes on Wednesday 6th January 2021. Normally we have a Christmas party in our last classes, this will still go ahead minus the food. Due to Covid, we have decided to not have food this year. We will however still have our end of year presentation awards and games.... 04.01.2022 There is only one thing we can say about our Wednesday night warriors.... We are so proud of you all! What a year it has been for us as a dojo. With over 70 student's training with us each week, we have had a busy year training hard even in the middle of a global pandemic. You have all done an amazing job keeping up with your training at home, via zoom and in class. With so many stand out karateka this year it was so hard to choose our award recipients. ... Congratulations to the following student's who received the award in recognition of "outstanding effort" you have shown us all that excellence is not a single act, but a habit. 03.01.2022 Great classes tonight for such a warm evening, everyone trained hard despite the heat. We went back to basics tonight and went through our grading combos. In particular we worked on mawashi uke, inside and outside shuto and our back leaning stance. Great job to our yellowbelts who done so well trying the higher graded combos. ... 02.01.2022 I am sure there will be a few sore legs tomorrow after tonight's awesome effort's across all three of our classes. We worked mostly on the kick paddles concentrating on our hook and round kicks with fitness drills in between. In our 3rd class we worked on kihon, kicks and some kata to end the class. Everyone has been working hard each week, often it is very hard to choose a student of the week or special awards. Special mentions go to: ... Jude and Carter who have improved their listening skills and concentration. Nick has improved in overall effort and Aarav who works hard every week. 02.01.2022 Awesome training across all three of our Friday night classes with Sensei Mark Throughout the night we worked on some kicking combo's and stance combinations, in particular kokutsu-dachi and Zenkutsu-dachi. In our senior kata class we worked on staying low in our stances and then broke up into kata groups to work on our grade kata's. We ended the night with some fun, where the whole class got to have a go at Seisan.

02.01.2022 Great night's training for our Wednesday night warriors With grading upon us this sunday we focused on our grading lines drills and grade kata's. Some notable stand-outs Samantha and Shanika who have only been on their journey a short time had amazing focus and enthusiasm tonight. Vanz was on point with his line drills and Rohan put awesome effort into his grade kata. Well done to Matthew who is also new to his karate journey, he received student of the week ... 01.01.2022 A great night's training for our Friday classes The focus was on several different aspects of training across the three classes - kicking grading line drills, partner work incorporating reverse punch, round kicks and hook kicks. And a big emphasis on kata and attempting to finish the kata on the same place we started. Amazing job from everyone tonight!
