17.01.2022 What an end to 2018, I couldn't have asked for anything better. We all came together to celebrate our achievements for this year with one big karate partie! Special congratulations to the two 'Student of the Year' recipients for Grovedale: Firstly to Harry Mitchell, for his outstanding improvement during the year - as the year progressed, so did Harry. Well done!... And to Mark Voller for his dedication, pushing himself to take on additional classes and setting goals to achieve. We're all looking forward to where 2019 can take you Mark. I also give a huge shout-out to William Ellson who shows up every week and has learnt so much this year. For a six-year old, William attends the second class and gets a lot from training with the big kids (adults). I thank everyone this year, you have all been amazing and I have enjoyed every moment sharing with you what I know about karate. I hope everyone is looking forward to a bigger and better 2019. 13.01.2022 The 2018 Australian National Championships were held yesterday at the State Basketball Centre in Victoria. All competitors and spectators should be commended fo...r the level of camerarderie and sportsmanship showed on the day and we would like to thank the tournament organizers for such a fantastic event! Thanks also to our official videographer Gary Hegedus who put together this highlights package from the day, we hope you enjoy it! Keep an eye out over the next week or so for more photos, videos and news from not only the Australian Championships but also the NZ and UK National Titles too.

13.01.2022 Tonight was a little sad as we said 'see you later' to one of our fellow students. Nika is moving dojo after a promotion at work. It will certainly not be the last we see of Nika as she will still be training in R26, so we will see her at gradings and hopefully at tournaments. Firstly to Bailey Griffin on grading to 9th kyu (yellow tip) last week, and to Bradley Simpkin and Abbie Williams who now have an orange tip on their yellow belts (7th kyu ho). 05.01.2022 For a bit of fun (and because the floors in the hall are being refinished) training may be held outdoors this coming Tuesday at Grovedale. So, please wear some suitable footwear and a hat, also it is a good idea to slop on some sunscreen, although we will try to find some shade. As usual, bring along your full water bottle as there is always an opportunity once finished, to refill at the school water fountains. We should always be prepared for anything, this is what makes life interesting.

After all the holiday fun and frivolity were sure everyone has experienced, its time to get back into shape and enjoy the fitness routine you can achieve with karate - of course all your karate family will be there as well. Get there early to get yourselves warmed up and dont forget to bring your water bottle, especially if its hot.
