25.01.2022 There was also a senior grading earlier in the week. Our own sensei John was being assessed that night. You might notice his belt is a little different than before when you turn up to the next class... :)

25.01.2022 *******IMPORTANT!!!!!!!! Mt Barker High School have not released their gym for our use at this time, and we're not sure when they will do so. The results of that are: 1. No training at Mt Barker tonight. 2. For now, Mt Barker classes will meet at Nairne primary school on Mondays beginning Monday 7th December. The first class will be at 6pm and the second class will be at 7pm.... Furthermore, GKR Karate is one of those organisations required to have a QR code available for scanning. That means that when you come for class, if you have the mySAGov app you will scan us and check in and then we will scan you (if you're on direct debit) and put you on the class sheet like we normally do! If you don't have the mySAGov app we will have a paper sign in sheet available for your use for Covid contact tracing purposes. And the photo? It just proves that once upon a time, sensei John DID wear a white belt. Back when his beard was much longer! :D

24.01.2022 The current state of region 23 classes. Note the bottom left corner where you can see the shift of Mt Barker to Monday at Nairne for the time being.

23.01.2022 Dear R23 students and parents, As of tomorrow - Tuesday 17 November 2020 all GKR classes in SA will be suspended. As you may have seen, S.A Health has put indo...or sport into a two week closure which includes Karate. Please note that here at GKR, we care about our students and instructors so we fully support this decision. A text will be sent to students tomorrow morning letting them know about our classes temporarily closing and the suspension of training fees during this period. It can take up to 48 hours for payments to stop so those that have money come out tomorrow or Wednesday then they may still have a payment come out. A credit will be organised in this case. We ask that you keep an eye on your emails for official correspondence and please keep in contact with your Facebook Dojo pages for updates. See more

19.01.2022 Here you go guys. Start 2021 off with a kata seminar

18.01.2022 Happy new year! With the new year, comes "back to training"! Class times have been updated! There are now three different days for training in the hills, starting this coming week! Class times are: *Monday 6pm and 7pm Nairne Primary school starting 4th January... *Wednesday 5:30pm and 6:45pm Mount Barker High school starting 6th January *Saturday 10:30am and 11:30am Nairne primary school starting 9th January Sensei John will be in charge of the Monday classes, sensei Tony will be in charge of the Wednesday classes, and sensei Allan will be charge of the Saturday classes. Of course those senseis will get around to classes other than the ones they are in charge of too! :) I know you all have schedules to keep, but the extra training day in the hills is an excellent opportunity to train more! Twice a week is a lot more than twice as good as once a week for your karate progress! See you next week!

11.01.2022 For us at Mount Barker this means we restart on Wednesday December 2nd - and we are NOT training this week!

09.01.2022 Some people from the hills went to a grading today, and came back with new belts! Well done to new yellow belts, Tim, James, Charmae and Sahara, new orange belt Ethan, new green belt Oliver, new blue belt Lillie, and new brown belts Kazuki and Georgia! Woohoo!

02.01.2022 Don't forget the beach class coming up!
